Chapter 688 Gathering of Magical Beasts

Chapter 688: Gathering of Magical Beasts

As Charles entered the city, he was stupefied by an amazing scene that happened near the ruined walls.

At that moment, more than a dozen humans looked at each other in confusion and continued stealthily exploring the ruined city.

Little did they know they had been trapped in the 'Time Space Seal' for countless years!

Not bothered by their presence, Charles slowly walked toward the Temple of Death.

At the same time, he looked up at the sky and noticed that only a gigantic spatial crack was visible.

'When I broke the Time Space seal, both Thera and the Evil God returned to their original bodies, huh?' He pondered deeply and decided not to get too close to the Temple.

After all, the Evil God could also move in the astral plane and might take note of his presence.

Minutes passed slowly, and soon, an ear-piercing roar came from the sky. Before long, a 7-meter-tall magical beast with an eagle head flew from the east, soon landed on the ruined Temple's entrance by flapping its gigantic wings, and made another ear-piercing roar. It had golden feathers all over its lion body and looked domineering.

"Griffin!" Charles quietly observed the gigantic being and noticed it was stronger than the mutated rainbow Wolf beast he had battled earlier.

A few seconds later, another magical beast intruded the Temple by smashing everything in its path and soon stopped a hundred meters before the Griffin. It was a snake with a body and a face of a young female. Her eyes appeared a strange purplish color, and each hair strand looked more like small minute snakes.

"Now, Medusa?" Charles dared not to look at the being and shifted his attention towards the sky.

Soon, a 12-meter-tall gigantic red dragon, a divine horse with a rainbow horn on its forehead, a massive black panther, a nine-headed hydra, and a steel-like skinned Minotaur appeared individually.

Each one was more powerful than the mutated wolf and excluded a terrifying aura. Surprisingly, none of them even showed aggressiveness towards each other and quietly looked in the direction of the Temple's sanctum Sanctorum. From the glance, Charles understood that these beings were the Kings of this Jungle and appeared to have some mutual understanding.

But what surprised him more was that the Divine Unicorn Magical Beast noticed his presence and stared at him with curious eyes for a while.

Alas, it also shifted its attention towards the Temple's Sanctum Sanctorum and let out a neigh.

The next moment, the whole sky was darkened.

No, something appeared in the sky and blocked the sun itself.

Charles looked upward and soon opened his mouth wide, seeing countless winged Griffin and dragons circling the sky, blocking the sunlight.

At the same time, different kinds of Magical Beasts poured from different directions, smashed all the buildings while killing any being in their path, and soon gathered at the center of the ruined town.

Before long, thousands of Legendary Magical Beasts gathered before the Temple's entrance and stood behind those seven Kings of the Jungle.

It was a mythical sight to be seen.

Suddenly, the ground shook, followed by a terrifying, wicked energy coming from the deepest part of the Temple and spreading through the surroundings like rippling waves.

In a blink, the wicked power traveled through every part of the fourth layer and alerted every being.

Even the Devil Crow and the Lord of Chaos stopped their battle and looked in the direction where the wicked energy originated from.

Even though it was only a wicked energy wave, it made every being tremble in fear and panic.

"Demon Lord?!!!" A trace of panic could be seen on Azgan's face.

"Devil Crow, we have to settle our score a little later. I know you made some deal with the Guardian of this layer to bring me down. But let's put aside our grudges and take care of this higher being with the help of the Guardian." A chilling voice came from the gigantic bone tree.

"Humph, I don't need your or that damned elf's help to take care of this intruder. Wait and watch; I will handle this new trouble in a few minutes." Devil said as it flapped its gigantic wings and flew up in the direction where the wicked wave came from.

At the same time, it used the 'Sacred Oath' spell and summoned all the Demons, Devils, Humans, and other races to gather near the Baston Fort.

Although it was puzzled by its summon to the Commanders not working properly, it didn't think much about it and proceed to fly.

"Tch, dumb bird. We will also follow him and see what that thing is!" The towering bone tree also spoke and flew up in the sky.

...

Underground Basement, Mansion House, Baston Fortress.

In the dark underground, six black-robed mages stood at the center of the basement chamber and were preparing to conduct a ritual. They covered their heads in the hood and had an eye tattoo symbol on their arm and chest regions.

A unique reddish hexagonal-shaped magic circle glowed in crimson light, was inscribed below their feet, and looked ominous.

There were also more than six head-sized bluish crystals placed at each edge of the magic circle, gathering dense spatial energy to the center of the magic circle.

Commander Erwin and another six-robed mage stood outside the magic circle and carefully observed the process.

Suddenly, Commander Erwin heard a vibrating sound from the ring in his right hand and furrowed before muttering.

"My Curse ring is blocking the telepathic message from reaching me through the Sacred Oath. Does that mean it has started already?" Although he still didn't know about the outside situation, he could vaguely tell that the main battle had started already.

"But this is a good thing." He said solemnly and added.

"Proceed with the plan. Open the portal to Guardian's Sanctuary and start the invasion." He said in a solemn tone.

Meanwhile, all the six black-robed mages suddenly opened their mouths and started reciting a strange chant in a foreign language.

As the chant continued, more spatial energy poured towards the center of the magic circle and started to take shape into a small spatial crack.

"Coordination to the Guardian's Sanctuary has been set." One of the mages spoke and maintained the magic array circle formation.

On the other hand, the small spatial crack started to widen and soon formed into a large bluish portal.

But Erwin dared not jump into the portal and took a spear from his spatial ring.

Then, he aimed at the portal and tossed it with full force.

Like an arrow, the spear whistled and entered the void before disappearing completely.

A second later, he heard a clang and plop noise from the other side, causing his lips to rise.

"It looks safer to go. Let's go." Erwin and all the other six mages didn't miss the opportunity as they rose from the floor and shot towards the opened portal at an incredible speed.

Before long, they disappeared into the portal, leaving dead silence in the underground chamber.

...

Core Room, Fourth Layer, Star Tombs Dungeon.

A golden orb floated in the middle of a pool and appeared to be moving here and there due to the small ripple of water.

But all of a sudden, a spatial crack appeared above the golden orb and started to enlarge.

Then, a strange black spear came out of the portal, directly crashed onto the golden ring, and made a loud noise.

After that, the spear flew while stabbing the golden orb and crashed onto the rocky surface.

A second later, a giant rock boulder fell into the pool, creating a plop noise.

A strange silence lasted for a moment.

Then, Commander Erwin and the other robed mages leaped out of the portal and soon found themselves standing in the middle of a water pool. But the pool wasn't located in a forest or normal place but inside an isolated cavern. If not for the sparkling bluish gems hanging up in the ceiling and illuminating the surroundings, they wouldn't be able to see anything.

They also saw rocks and a few greenish plants at the edge of the pool and showed a puzzled look.

"Where are we? The coordination didn't work?" Commander Erwin asked with a frown.

"Look over there, Erwin." One of the robed mages spoke while removing the black hood and pointing his finger at the other side of the pool.

They soon saw a small island-like land and a small house made of wood.

But what startled everyone was the appearance of an elf standing at the house's entrance. He had long blonde hair, a lean body, olive skin, and amber eyes, and he wore plain white clothes. He also held a wooden bow and looked at them sharply.

He was none other than the Guardian of the Fourth Layer.

"How did you guys enter this place?" He asked in elvish tongue, picked up an arrow from the quiver, and aimed directly at Commander Erwin.

But before he could pull the string, a strange, wicked power swept through the whole cavern and caused a suffocative feeling.

Not only that, but a powerful bang echoed from somewhere and caused the whole cavern to tremble fiercely.

Rocks and the illuminating blue crystals fell onto the pool one by one, followed by a strange silence.
