Chapter 687 Breaking the Seal

Chapter 687: Breaking the Seal

Hidden Chamber, Temple of Death, Fortress of Soul Graves.

Charles stood in front of the black coffin and asked.

"So, how should I break this 'Space-Time seal'?"

"You just need to use your sword to break it." A swift reply echoed in his ears, causing his lips to twitch.

"You don't have to worry about it. The sword in your waist is more than enough to destroy the artifact." Thera answered calmly.

With a nod, Charles walked closer to the golden-haired woman in a meditative position, walked out of the astral plane, and reappeared in the real World.

Simultaneously, a mighty wisdom power came from a faraway region and entered the Space-Time sealed layer. Charles even sensed a strange, chilling sensation in that wisdom power and got more alert.

"It's not the power of the Evil God. It's the Lord of Chaos, the Boss of this realm!" Thera said in a solemn tone.

At that moment, the Evil God seemed disturbed by the foreign power and released a strange energy from the coffin.

A second later, Charles felt countless voices and screams of humans, demons, and other strange creatures echoing in his head.

Slowly, an eerie whisper of a woman echoed in his head.

'Let me see what you are hiding-' Before the voice could etch deep into Charles's mind, a sharp pain appeared on his neck, causing him to wake up from getting his thoughts corrupted.

It was Grace's interference.

Even though he was still in elemental form, he felt a sharp pain and was deeply startled.

"Wow, you have such a sweet possessive sword." Thera couldn't help but chuckle.

Shaking his head, he turned his gaze towards the coffin and sensed no wicked or corrupted energy was moving in his direction.

"What...? That Evil Entity is afraid of your sword?" Thera asked in confusion.

"You are a lot talkative."

Charles clicked his tongue, walked closer to Thera's original body, and took the disk-like glass artifact from her hand.

Then, he moved two steps away from her and put it on the floor.

"But what with your Fire Elemental Form? How come you aren't affected by the Time Stop Seal even in physical World?" Thera asked questions continuously.

Not bothered by her nagging, Charles unsheathed the long sword in his waist and slowly moved it towards the Glass Artifact.

As if Grace had already realized his motive, she vibrated excitedly and released an invisible power.

The next instant, the long sword directly cut the disc artifact into two and broke the Space-Time seal.

A moment later, a powerful rippling force came out of the Disc Artifact and released in all directions before nullifying the 'Time-Stop' effect in the ruined fortress town.

Unfortunately, Charles didn't have any luxury to observe the surrounding changes as he sensed a suffocative feeling appeared in the Chamber.

It was the Evil God's aura again!

But this time, it appeared more powerful and wicked.

At the same time, the golden-haired woman also woke up from her meditative state and gasped for air.

"'Gasp' Finally!! I can finally feel the feeling of breathing!!! Oh, I feel my body after a long time." She said in an excited tone and soon sensed that the eerie black coffin's lid suddenly started to open up.

"Now, this is where the real fun begins." She said as she stood up unsteadily and added.

"We should leave before that thing fully released with its true body-!" Before she could finish, Charles released invisible strings from his hand and enveloped the Black Coffin.

But he soon realized that his invisible strings were starting to tear due to the powerful force within the coffin.

"Let me help you," Thera said as she approached the black coffin, conjuring unique chains of pure lawful flame and sealing the coffin in all directions.

"This chain should be enough to hold the Evil God inside coffin sealed for 30 minutes."

"That's more than enough." He muttered inwardly and instantly released his full wisdom power, enveloping more than 100 kilometers in a blink.

Even the scanning caused a mysterious ripple and created strange shockwaves in all directions.

After his wisdom power reached 900 points, he had far surpassed the realm of Legendary and had reached a new height.

The current Charles could go on toe to toe against Demi-God Rafael or DemiGod Miguel from the Miracle City.

Of course, he still wasn't strong enough to face Udnir, but he wouldn't be beaten one-sided like last time.

In a moment, Charles saw countless magical beasts in many parts of this dense forest, Nick, Heath, and others in the outside camp, and he even managed to see a few shadow-cloaked people tracking down the path they traveled through.

Like him, Nick, Heath, other peoples, and even the magical beasts sensed an unknown force scanning them and showed different reactions.

The shadow-cloaked people shirked in shock and looked terrified by the invisible pressure. Meanwhile, the most powerful Magical Beasts residing in the forest were angry and provoked. Not only that, but many even locked on the location where he was standing by releasing their wisdom power and rushed towards the Fortress of Soul Graves.

On the other hand, Nick, Heath, and others looked dumbfounded and pale as they sensed countless wisdom powers scanning the surroundings.

"Hmm your spirit power is truly astounding and boundless. But what are you doing? What would you gain by attracting the attention of countless magical beasts by simply revealing your location? I wouldn't be surprised if some demons or other beings decided to come after you. Also, why are you blocking the Demon Lord from leaving the coffin?" Thera glanced at him with a puzzled look.

"I need this coffin. But at the same time, we both aren't strong enough to beat it."

"That's true for sure." Thera nodded in acknowledgment.

"That's why I'm planning on letting the magical beasts fight this Evil God or whatever and steal the coffin stealthily." Saying so, he created a bluish portal before him and was about to step in but suddenly froze.

A second later, he heard a thundering voice filled with pure wisdom power, causing the whole air to ripple.

"You dare to steal my Egg?"

"Whose egg? Whose voice is that?" Thera was baffled by the sudden voice and looked in the direction where it originated from.

"It must be the Devil Crow's voice. Azgan must have entered its lair and stole its egg. Perfect timing." A grin appeared on Charles's face.

Not minding Thera's confused gaze, he stepped forward and disappeared into the portal.

Thera also walked towards the portal and soon disappeared from there.

A second later, Charles and Thera emerged from the portal outside the ruined city and swiftly soared through the air toward the direction where the camp was situated. The atmosphere crackled with an impending tension, and the powerful ripple of Charles's wisdom power still lingered, affecting the surroundings.

Thera, flying alongside Charles, couldn't help but express her curiosity. "You mentioned letting others fight the entity within the coffin. Are you planning to involve the camp members and the magical beasts in this conflict?"

"They aren't strong enough to face such being. No, from the very beginning, my goal is not to fight entity but use to for my own gain." Charles's words made her more puzzled.

"Don't think too much about it." He calmly manipulated the wisdom power and flew faster.

As they approached the camp, the expressions of Nick, Heath, and the others reflected a mix of confusion and concern. The unusual pressure in the air, coupled with Charles's abrupt emergence, left them puzzled.

Charles landed gracefully in the center of the camp, and the gathered individuals instinctively created some distance, sensing the powerful aura surrounding him. Thera descended beside him, causing more suspicion and confusion among the people.

"Sir Charles! Why did you release your wisdom power and provoke the magical beasts? If we don't escape now, a swarm of magical beasts might come after us!" Nick said in a tense look and slowly turned his gaze towards Thera. Her tall physique made them mistake her for a Demon.

"You guys don't have to be wary of her." As Charles spoke, he turned his gaze towards Nick and added.

"Our goal is already completed. Tell your commander that I've already conquered the Fortress of the Souls of Grave. We are returning to the Baston Fortress."

"You conquered it? That quickly?" Nick couldn't hide his shock at all.

Soon, he snapped out of himself, walked closer to him, and returned the 'Nebulous Dreamkeeper Pendant.'

Meanwhile, Charles took the pendant from Nick and spoke.

"You've done a great job. You guys should pack your things and move away from this place."

"What about you, sir?" Nick asked in confusion.

"I still have one more job to do. But don't worry about me. Tell Commander Erwin that I'll be leaving this layer soon too."

As he spoke, he noticed countless provoked magical beasts from the deepest part of the forest were swarming towards the fortress from all directions.

Nick and Heath also realized the situation and decided to escape first.

Soon, they gathered their members and retreated from the camp area.

Upon seeing the group leaving hurriedly, Thera couldn't help but ask.

"Won't they get attacked by the Magical Beasts coming from their opposite side? The best option right now is to hide ourselves and only escape when the Magical Beasts' attentions are drawn to the Evil God."

"Nothing changes. Even if they survive now, most of them will die sooner." Charles said with a mysterious grin and then added.

"You also try to hide somewhere safer. Also, take this pendant with you. My friend is staying in the pendant, so please be careful."

"Where are you going?" Thera asked as she noticed that he was transforming into the fire elemental form. She soon widened her eyes in realization.

"Be careful not to attract that being's attention when stealing the coffin."

"I'll be more careful." Charles nodded attentively, disappeared from there by enveloping himself in reddish flame, and entered the Astral Plane.

Then, he didn't stay there and quickly returned to the Soul Graves fortress.
