Lin Yuan always thought that Blackie’s voice was very gentle. But now, he felt that the Jasmine Lily’s voice was even gentler.

The offspring would retain the Jasmine Lily’s mutation, so there was no need to evolve it from its plain initial self.
However, plant-type feys needed to reach Myth III before they could change into human form. An A-rank spirit qi professional could only contract a Suzerain/Myth II fey at most.
As such, if the Jasmine Lily really wanted to change into human form, it would have to wait until Lin Yuan became an S-rank spirit qi professional.
Lin Yuan had not been an A-rank spirit qi professional for long. It would take him at least two to three years before he could reach S-rank.
“I’m sorry, Jasmine Lily. You can only change into human form a few years after Chimey does.”
Before Lin Yuan could explain the reason to the Jasmine Lily, it said nonchalantly, “Yuan, it doesn’t matter if I’ll be able to change into human form as long as I can stay by your side!”
Lin Yuan was wholly touched by the Jasmine Lily.

Lin Yuan picked up the Jasmine Lily with one hand and patted Blackie’s horns with the other.
“Blackie, it’s very easy for the Source Sand to reach Myth Breed. But in order for your bloodline to transform, your body will be taken apart and put back together. It will be an extremely painful and dangerous experience. Why don’t you evolve first?”
Blackie nodded its large head and said in a determined and gentle voice, “Yuan, you have invested so many resources into me. How can I back down just because evolving my bloodline will bring me some pain? Moreover, this won’t be the first time that I’ll have a tough time evolving my bloodline. I have experience, so you don’t have to worry!”
Blackie raised its head and let out a roar full of the might of a flood dragon before lifting itself into the sky.
The path that Blackie walked down was not an easy one. When it awakened the faint dragon-species bloodline in its body and evolved from the Spirit-Siphon Goldfish into the Spirit-Gather Goldfish, its blood had stained the entire spirit pool. Its body had completely changed its shape, and its scales turned completely around. Its bones even seemed to be unable to carry its flesh.
If Blackie had not been going through its evolution in the spirit pool and was absorbing the pure spirit qi that helped to rapidly heal its body, it would never have been able to evolve successfully. Instead, it would be long-dead by now!
Its later transformation from the Spirit-Gather Goldfish to the Spirit Tide Ink Flood Dragon had been just as torturous.
Lin Yuan was the most worried but also hopeful about Blackie’s evolution.
There were several branches along the process of evolving from flood-dragon-species to main dragon. They were the yin dragon, soaring dragon, submerged dragon, horned dragon, coiled dragon, and clawed dragon.
The other six branches derived from the terrifying-dragon-species fey and did not have much relation to the flood-dragon-species fey.
Given that Blackie was the Spirit Tide Ink Flood Dragon, it was more inclined toward the horned-dragon path.
However, this did not mean it did not have the chance to advance toward the other branches during the evolution process.
It was common for dragon-species feys to change the branch of their bloodline during breakthroughs.
Among the six branches related to the flood-dragon-species, the horned dragon was considered average and was only slightly stronger than the submerged dragon. It was on the same level as the coiled dragon and was a significant step down from the soaring dragon. It could not even be compared to the yin dragon!
Normally, spirit qi professionals who had contracted flood-dragon-species feys hoped their feys would evolve toward the yin dragon.
But in actuality, the yin dragon was not the strongest path of evolution.
The four-clawed dragon was comparable to the yin dragon. If it had five claws, it would even surpass the yin dragon.
However, the five-clawed dragon was still only a legend. Lin Yuan had only ever seen it mentioned in the Annal of Monster Information. In the main world, a five-clawed dragon was still unheard of.
While the strong clawed dragons were outstanding, the weak ones were very inferior as well. A one- or two-clawed dragon was even weaker than a pure flood-dragon-species fey.

If any of his feys were revealed to the outside world, they would be described as legends.
Lin Yuan believed that Blackie would also be able to create a legend with its evolution.
