If Brilliant Gold had faced Light Green Umber and the other emperor-class mermaids, she could have handled them even without Dazzling Silver’s support.
A thread of hope unconsciously formed in Brilliant Gold’s mind. She prayed that Dazzling Silver, who had always felt affection for her, would not reveal what she had done to Lin Yuan. Even if she did reveal her action, she could bend the truth or smooth over the details.

Brilliant Gold had already thought about what she would do to ameliorate Lin Yuan’s negative emotions toward her once Dazzling Silver helped her to fudge the truth.

Brilliant Gold had always used Dazzling Silver to raise her own authority. If Dazzling Silver still allowed herself to be used by Brilliant Gold, there would be no hope for her! When Dazzling Silver had been in love with Brilliant Gold, she saw her as perfect and did not think that there was anything wrong with Brilliant Gold’s actions.
But now, Dazzling Silver realized that Brilliant Gold was not repentant and was still trying to manipulate her. As such, she felt rather disgusted.
Dazzling Silver had paused for a full 12 seconds after Lin Yuan had asked her his question. It was not that she did not know what to say, but that she was trying to give Brilliant Gold a chance to explain herself and apologize to Lin Yuan.
However, it was clear that Brilliant Gold did not understand her intentions.
Dazzling Silver sighed and said honestly, “Lord Thearch, Brilliant Gold was the only one who tried to head to the Deep Chasm Sea Eye. But we stopped her.”
Dazzling Silver saw Brilliant Gold looking at her with astonishment and disbelief. Dazzling Silver could not help but sigh to herself. What kind of image of myself did I present to Brilliant Gold? Was she actually led to believe that I would deceive a merman thearch just to help her?
Dazzling Silver shook her head and added, “A fight almost broke out when we tried to stop Brilliant Gold.”
After Dazzling Silver was done speaking and Eternal Source did not have anything to add, Lin Yuan knew that Dazzling Silver had spoken candidly and had not left anything out.
