Chapter 450: A New Kind of Monsters

"Got it!"

Solitary Tempest released a yell and launched herself towards The Orc Shaman with her weapon raised above her head!

Soul Crash!

Bang!

Totem Shield: Mammoth!

Glaring at the pouncing female adventurer, the Orc Shaman slammed its wooden staff on the ground, creating a magic circle that spread outwards in a radius of three meters around it as it erected a transparent shield in the shape of a monster head.

"Tsk!"

Seeing it, Solitary Tempest can only click her tongue, and since she can't stop her skill once it was activated, she could only continue to swing her weapon down towards the monster in front of her.

Shatter!

But then, something miraculous happened, because the moment the blade of her Scythe touched the totem shield, it suddenly shattered into pieces while the Scythe continued on its downward path, and with a dumbfounded look on its face, the Orc Shaman only saw its shield shattering into pieces followed by a flash of light as the scythe cut through its body like a hot knife cutting through butter, following next, the last thing it saw was the darkness slowly consuming it as the Orc turned into ashes.

It didn't even have a chance to utter a death cry!

"Eh?"

The event that unfolded before her eyes was so shocking that Solitary Tempest can only utter a weird noise as she didn't expect that the Field Boss would immediately die under that attack.

[Class Trait: Instant Death has been triggered!]

[Orc Shaman - Bergura had been slain!]

[You gained 37069 EXP points!]

"Wha..what the heck just happened?"

Both humans and monsters stopped in their tracks at the same time as they looked towards the spot where the Orc Shaman - Bergura just disappeared with disbelieving and shaky eyes.

"F-for real? In one hit? Just how powerful is she to one shot a field boss?"

Rahhh!

"Wha..what?"

"Don't let them get away!"

Taunt!

Upon seeing their leader dead, the remaining orcs simultaneously released a roar filled with terror as they fled in all directions!

Oscar yelled in a hurry to Hekate, while the latter quickly activated his taunting skill to stop the monsters from fleeing. Unfortunately, a lot of them were already out of his skill range and only managed to catch two of the Orcs.

Fire Blast!

Starfall!

Roar!

A few moments later, the three players managed to easily dispatch the two Orcs while Solitary Tempest only stood at the side and watched them.

"Great job! You guys did good for players wearing such…"

Solitary Tempest walked over towards them while talking, but she didn't continue what she wanted to say and just threw a glance towards the equipment of the three players that's all over the place.

"Y-yeah, thanks!"

The look she gave them was enough for the three to be embarrassed as they are fully aware of the standard of their current equipment that doesn't match their current level.

"I'll take this, you can guys can take the rest"

Solitary Tempest was holding green orb the size of a marble, and inside it, everyone can see that there's swirling winds inside it.

"O-okay, thank you?"

Fur Elise was the only one who managed to give a reply as the two men were panting at the side catching their breath, and because of their fatigue, they could only watch Solitary Tempest walk away and slowly disappear from their sight.

"What? Don't look at me, I don't know how she managed to kill that boss in one shot"

Then the two men turned their heads towards Fur Elise, and when the latter realized that someone was looking at her and saw that it was just her two friends, she just raised an eyebrow while shrugging her shoulders.

"It's probably a skill of hers, probably a passive one with a very low probability of triggering. Since no one in their right minds would use a sure kill skill for a field boss as it would have a very long cooldown"

"I don't know, I just really want to have an extended rest right now"

With a flop, the two men sat on the ground with faces full of fatigue while leaning back with their hands on the ground.

"She's really strong, she probably has a very unique hidden class just by looking at her weapon. Nothing less from the most mysterious Ranker. I wonder what she looks like under that mask though?"

"It's either she's a beauty or an average looking woman. It's only those two options"

"Enough about her, let's just be thankful that she didn't get angry with us for taking her leftover loot. The kids are gonna have a feast tonight after we sell all of this, and we'll probably have enough spare to buy a change of equipment for us. Look, she didn't even bother picking up this Rare grade item here that the Orc Shaman dropped!"

While the two men were busy gossiping about Solitary Tempest and with Fur Elise at the side busy picking up the scraps that Solitary Tempest left behind to them.

[Instant Death Strike]

A class trait for people who walk the path related to Death itself, the Shadow Hunter. As it is a skill that directly attacks the soul, it has a 0.01% probability of activation, and will ignore any kinds of defenses. Instantly killing any target.

"Here I thought that I would never trigger this skill with it's terribly low probability"

The woman in question was currently moving past through the dense forest like a phantom, before moments later, she halted in her tracks and arrived near a large mound as tall as a house and surrounded by ants as big as a regular dog, large sized dogs to be precise.

[Level 31 - Grounders]

"This is my first time seeing monster ants in this game. Hmm, based on my experience from other games before. There's a high chance that they would immediately surround me the moment I decide to attack one of them. There's even a large chance that the entire colony would come after me. Hmmm, I think I'll just circle around them, it's not worth the trouble getting entangled with them when I didn't come here to hunt monsters in the first place"

Solitaire Tempest had climbed on one of the trees near her as she pondered on what her next course of actions while watching the ants near her position, as the monsters busied themselves with their work.

While observing them, she only identified two kind of ants, there's this group of smaller sized ants that are carrying a variety of food and entering the hole of their colony, and the other one are a larger group of ants with a more robust frame and deeper color than the former group and their job is patrolling around their area of activity and protecting the former group of ants.
