Chapter 627: Resolving issues - Part 2
"No, Noah. Please do not speak that way. Please. I am at fault. I know it. Please forgive me." Aria cried and dropped to her knees immediately, losing all her strength. All of a sudden, she felt exhausted and Noah caught her instantly, stopping her from hurting her knees.
"Aria." He shouted in fright and held her close as he too kneeled in front of her.
"Aria, are you hurt? Are you alright?" His previous resentment vanished and he focused on Aria who was crying bitterly. She sniffled softly as she hugged him tightly, not allowing him to refuse her embrace.
"Aria." Noah was taken aback by her sudden hug. Nevertheless, he did not push her away and hugged her in return as he rubbed her back to comfort her.
"Please forgive me, Noah. Please. It was never my intention to hurt you and never will it be." She sniffed. "I was scared and in my momentary loss of rationality, I made decisions I now regret."
"Aria."
"Please listen to me." When Noah tried to pull away, Aria stopped him again and snuggled closer to him, seeking more of his warmth. She did not even care that she was still kneeling. All she wanted was for the man to return to his usual self and stop giving her a cold shoulder. She could not bear to hurt him ever and just the thought of him doubting his abilities made her curse herself to death.
"I know I was wrong and I should have discussed with you before I acted on my thoughts. But I was scared. Maggie had alerted me about a spy in your group and compared to all the previous ones, he was more powerful. So...." She breathed through her mouth as she took a break.
"So, I did not consult you before. I did not want to alert Jared about our plan. Please do not say that I do not trust you. Please." Aria begged and pulled away from him this time. She scooted closer to him and cupped his face, forcing Noah to lean down a little until he was at her eye level.
"You are my world. Other than my family, you are the first person I trust the most. Don't ever doubt your position in my life." Aria enunciated each word clearly, her teary eyes filled with utmost love and sincerity. "I trust you more than you can imagine. My love and trust for you are as true as the presence of the sun, the moon and the stars."
Noah's lips quirked up immediately. Her words sounded extremely pleasant to hear. All his grievances vanished and his guilt and distrust in himself too disintegrated gradually. Aria had appeased him greatly and he had no reasons to believe that she was lying.
He could see the world in her eyes and in her world, he was at the center. His position in her heart was unshakeable and just the thought of it made Noah giddy with happiness. Subconsciously, he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him as he looked back at her, his eyes sparkling with glee.
Aria too realized that she had appeased the man and her heart sighed in relief. A blissful smile bloomed on her face and her shoulders sagged slightly. Yet, she did not budge. She still had some things to tell him to make her stance clear.
"I know I have hurt you and you can punish me for it however you want. I will accept everything. But, please do not give me a cold shoulder." She begged and dropped her hands. "I will not be able to tolerate it. I need you for my survival. Please."
This time, she did not stop Noah from hugging her and the man let out a sigh as he placed his chin on her head.
"What do I do with you, Aria?" He mumbled and pulled her closer to him. With great precision and care, he placed his hands under her butt and lifted her and Aria immediately wrapped her legs around his waist while her hands curved around his neck. She leaned against his shoulder as she took in his soothing scent.
Her mind that had gone haywire before became clear at once while her heart was at peace. A smile lingered on her lips and she closed her eyes in contentment. Noah had forgiven her and that was all she needed.
"Thank you." She mumbled and kissed his cheek while Noah lay on the bed with her on top of him.
"This is the last time, Aria. Please do not do anything reckless again and put your life at risk. You have no idea how torturous it is for me. Please." Noah begged and Aria lifted her head and stared at him.
"I promise you, Noah. I will never be reckless again."
Satisfied by her words, he pushed her hair and looked at the wound on her forehead.
"Noah," Aria placed her hands on his chest and stared at him in a daze.
"Hmm?"
"Kiss me."
Although her request stunned him, he was more than willing to fulfill her wish. Just when Aria's lips touched his, his fingers laced through her hair while his other hand held her in her place. For the first time, he allowed her to dominate the kiss while he gladly accepted everything she was doing to him.
Even though her kiss was sloppy, he could still feel the emotions she was trying to convey to him. Apology, guilt, relief, regret, love, he could sense it all. But what overpowered the most was her promise and Noah smiled into the kiss.
Aria threw all her inhibitions out of the window and kissed him with vigor. Her restless heart finally calmed down and she felt at peace. With Noah around, she had nothing to worry about. He would protect her and keep her away from all harm.
Aria broke the kiss after a few minutes and placed her forehead against him, her hot breath hitting Noah's face and his eyes darkened in desire. However, he just rolled over, careful as to not hurt her until they were lying side by side.
"Let's sleep, Aria. You must be tired."
Aria was flabbergasted and her eyes widened. "You...you...you..." She mumbled.
"Aria, sleep or I will not allow you to sleep for the entire night. Make your choice." Noah's voice was deep and Aria immediately shut her eyes. Noah was a man of his words and Aria was sure that if he started to have his way with her, she would not be able to leave the bed at all. It was best to not provoke the animal in him when she was utterly exhausted and all she craved for was sleep.
When Noah did not sense any movement from the girl beside him, he opened one eye and peeked at her. Aria had her eyes shut and her breathing had slowed down. Her tense body was now relaxed and Noah watched her, his eyes filled with relief and delight. It was only when she was in his arms that he felt assured.
'Silly girl.' He chided her in his mind before he too closed his eyes and succumbed to what his body desired the most.
