"Where do you plan on going, sir?" Miss Stacey said after recovering from the embarrassment earlier.
Just like the cashier, she truly did not expect for Roland's transformation to become this great.
It was too shocking to the point that she doubted whether a cloth could truly change a person's appearance this much.
From time to time, she would secretly take a peek at Roland's face. And no matter how many she took a glance; her heart would always flutter in excitement.
"I'm not familiar with the things in the mall. Can you suggest any place that I should visit? As reference, I'm not particularly in need of anything at this moment but I will try to buy everything that I fancy. Also, you can just call me Roland." Roland replied.
After working a part-time job for two years, he rarely went out to stroll around, especially at the mall as he knew that he would not be able to afford the items here.
This time, he was also already done buying his change of clothes and he was not in a hurry to shop anything now. He just wanted to enjoy himself while strolling inside the mall and maybe buy something he likes along the way.
"R-Roland? Alright, you can also just call me Stacey then," Stacey replied, her heart fluttering in excitement at managing to learn of Roland's name.
Her thoughts had already run wild. What Roland said earlier basically confirmed that he has a secret identity, and that the messy appearance earlier was just an upfront to fool people.
This kind of setting, wasn't this the one she desired the most?
Stacey carved Roland's name inside her head as she observed him more carefully.
"R-Roland, I notice that you're not wearing any watch. How about we go to a watch store?"
"Hmmm… A watch? Alright, let's go!" Roland nodded his head, thinking that her suggestion was indeed acceptable.
He actually had a watch before, but he just bought it for 60 Global Penny, and it only lasted for five days. He even cursed the vendor at that time as the item broke easily. Since then, he no longer bothered about buying any watch. He has a phone to check the time anyway.
Speaking of phone, Roland recalled his old model phone that he purposely left in the rental room he was staying at.
The reason why he left it behind purposely was actually because of Anna.
Anna mentioned that he should not try to bring his old model phone in college or else he would just end-up embarrassing himself in front of others. Roland did not think too much about it and also left the phone behind.
However, after thinking carefully about it now, perhaps it was actually Anna who was ashamed that her boyfriend still has an old model phone like that, so she requested that he don't bring it.
"Right, let's go to a phone store afterwards. I want to buy a new phone for myself." He said as he and Stacey walked side by side.
The mall was big and little packed with people. Fortunately, there were still spaces where a person could walk so Roland and Stacey managed to arrive at the watch store without any problem after a few minutes.
Arriving at the store, Roland looked at the sign hanging above the door of the store.
It was a Jolex watch store, a brand that Roland was familiar with. It was one of the most known watch brands around the world after all.
Roland heard that Jolex watches were very expensive. If it was before, he would surely hesitate to even enter such a store lest he accidentally break something.
However, with his current money, he could confidently enter and even look at the watches carefully.
Stacey went in first as he followed behind her curiously.
Seeing a new customer come inside, a Jolex watch employee suddenly approached them with a smile.
Stacey was a known figure in the mall. She was one of the pretty managers around the mall stores and she was kind and humble too.
Everyone loved and admired her.
The male Jolex watch employee was even one of her admirers.
Seeing Stacey enter the watch store, the male employee immediately went forward to greet her with a smile.
"Good afternoon, Miss Stacey," the employee said with the brightest smile on his face.
He thought that this was his chance to get close with Stacey, he was not willing to let go of this chance.
However, Stacey just simply replied with a nod and a smile before she continued walking forward while Roland followed behind her to one of the cabinets displaying the Jolex watches.
Seeing that he was ignored, the male employee could not help but feel a little bitter. At this moment, he then saw and observed Roland carefully.
His handsome face was enough to make the male employee jealous. And hence, his bitter feeling became even more intense.
From his observation, Roland has definitely come together with Stacey.
However, seeing his plain way of clothing that was in contrast to Stacey who was wearing a formal suit, he thought that Roland was just a bodyguard hired by Stacey.
There were rumors going around that Stacey actually has a very rich family. The employee thought that it was normal for her to have a bodyguard or two.
His guess was even more solidified when he noticed that Roland just kept on following behind Stacey like an obedient dog.
'Tsk,' he clicked his tongue in annoyance after seeing that Roland was also looking at the display cabinet as if he was going to buy something.
'You're just a bodyguard, how dare you look at the expensive watches?'
His jealousy and dissatisfaction towards Roland peaked.
He went forward and stood in front of him, "Ahem. Don't lean too close to the glass. Every watch in here is very expensive. I don't think you'll be able to pay it if you accidentally broke something."
After saying that piece, the employee continued, "And besides, bodyguards like you should not interfere with your boss' shopping, right? Why don't you go out and wait for her outside instead?"
Although the employee was smiling when Roland turned to look at him, his smile has never been more irritating in Roland's eyes.
