After eating for the second round, Madison finally reclined on the chair with satisfaction on her face. This was the first time she truly felt full of eating delicious food. Most of the time, delicious foods were rare, and she would only be able to eat a portion of it. This time however, she managed to eat two servings without holding back.
She looked at Roland with a grateful expression and said, "Roland, thank you so much. I haven't enjoyed food this much for a long time."
Roland just nodded his head. He was not foreign to what she was feeling right now. Back when he first obtained the System, he also felt the same when he ate at a Mac Jonald's branch inside the mall.
After resting for a bit, the two of them finally stood up. It just so happened that the store was also near the closing hours as well, so they no longer accepted more customers at this time, and it was only waiting for the customers to finish eating their meal.
It was already nearing 8 in the evening, the street in front of Sparkling Buds was no longer as busy as before. Some of the customers had already left dejectedly after realizing that Sparkling Buds was about to close for the day.
Earlier, the two of them had already talked about it. And it seems that both of them will go in a separate direction from this street. The plan was to walk home with each other, but they won't be able to now due to the circumstances.
As it was getting late, Roland still planned to accompany Madison until she arrived home safely. He was worried that something would happen to her along the way.
However, Madison felt that she owed Roland too much now. She said that she was already used to going home alone, so she tactfully rejected his offer saying that her home wasn't that far anyway.
Roland did not insist. If she wants to go home alone, then so be it.
However, Roland still intended to guarantee her safety. He ordered one of the available guards to follow her to protect her from the dark.
After arranging the matter, he finally went back to Sparkling Buds. There, Stacey and Janine were already waiting there, Janine with a pout on her lips as she saw Roland enter the back door.
"Done with your little date?" Stacey asked with a smile.
"Date? It's nothing like that," Roland hurriedly explained. He doesn't want Stacey to feel jealous because of his actions. He knew the feeling of getting drowned by jealousy, and he doesn't want Stacey to experience something like that.
Hearing him explain the matter hastily, a blooming smile appeared on Stacey's face as she stated, "Hey, relax. You don't need to explain anything. I trust you, okay? And besides, haven't we already talked about this before?"
Finally, Roland nodded his head with a hint of frown on his brows. However, deep inside, he was already subconsciously trying to avoid coming into contact with another woman for too long, lest he made Stacey jealous.
Treating your girl right, was the right thing to do.
Seeing the frown, Stacey seemed to understand his current thoughts.
"Hey, I told you I'm alright. Don't imprison yourself again with such thoughts, I'm not narrow-minded like your ex, remember?" She said, cupping Roland's cheek softly.
"You're right. Thank you!" Roland said heartfully.
He realized that he was about to go back to his old attitude. If it wasn't for Stacey's timely reminder, he might have already become obsessed with that kind of mindset again.
Treating a girl 'right', at the cost of sacrificing oneself.
Fortunately, Stacey was there to remind him that everything was already different from the past.
He felt grateful towards her. If not for Janine still staring at them with a pout, he might have already kissed her right now.
Speaking of Janine, Roland didn't know what caused her to have such a sulky expression.
"What's going on? Is there something wrong?" Roland asked curiously.
"Hmmp! Nothing!" Janine said, as she looked away.
It was clear that there was something going on.
As for her speaking this way even though she was just Roland's driver, of course, he gave her the permission to do so.
Janine was just the same age as him. He felt that it would be pretty awkward if someone of his age call's him boss or addressed him respectfully in public.
Aside from that, Janine also got permission from Stacey, the lady boss. So, everything was fine.
Stacey said that it was just a matter of perception, and that Roland was just not used to being treated like that. She said that he would get used to it as soon as he continued to live in wealth around him.
Sometimes, attitude could only be cultivated slowly. And a sudden change of attitude doesn't necessarily mean a good thing.
On the other hand, seeing Janine's action, Stacey burst out laughing and said, "She's upset because you left her behind for another girl. Haha!"
It looks like there was someone that was jealous, but it was not her. It was Janine instead. Stacey felt that it was very funny.
The real girlfriend felt nothing, but the candidate felt neglected and was feeling jealous instead.
"I already told you the reason though," Roland said, feeling confused.
In the end he still admitted that it was wrong of him to leave her behind when they agreed to meet up after school to go to Sparkling Buds together. Roland said that he would surely inform her in advance next time if something like this happened again. After all, she was his driver so it should just be normal for him to inform her in advance.
"Anyways, have you guys eaten already?" Roland suddenly asked.
The two women nodded their heads, to Roland's dismay. He still wasn't satisfied with the earlier meal. Ever since he started to level up, he could tell that obvious increase in appetite. Before it could be suppressed, but now that he was already level 3, he felt that he could still eat four more servings just to satiate his feelings of hunger.
And in the end, Roland really decided to eat a lot in front of the two women. The two of them only looked at Roland with a smile on their face.
After he was done eating, the three of them stood up and went out of the Sparkling Buds.
After the guards and the employees closed the store, Roland and the others also set out. Later, he would meet Carol to ask her some important things.
