Chapter 26: Parapsychology Association

Qin Guan sent a message to his counsellor to tell him that he had cleared Medium Mode in Jump!!. He was then told to attend the meeting on Sunday. The man also told Qin Guan that the specific time and location would be given him at some other time.

It was much simpler than Qin Guan had imagined.

But when he thought about it, perhaps it was because he had written that he was at the 99th platform in Medium Mode when he filled up the form earlier, so the counsellor had long since put him in the list of people who were about to clear the trial.

In truth, Qin Guan could boast and say that he cleared Crazy Mode, but there were two problems with this.

One, he did not know the levels and layout of Crazy Mode, which would make it incredibly easy to expose his lie.

Two, there was no benefit in boasting about this matter.

The class meeting was set at eight in the evening on Sunday, and it was held in a lecture building that was in a rather remote corner of the university.

In the beginning, Qin Guan wanted to throw a sarcastic quip about why administration would choose such an awkward time, but when he thought about it, he understood the reason.

Not every department in the university was as idle as the faculty of arts…

Some of the students had classes that spanned from Monday to Saturday, and they had to study for around seven to eight years. Some of the people from those courses also wanted to join this class, but they could not ask administration to skip classes from their course.

That was why it was actually rather suitable to schedule the class at night on the weekend. No one had any classes during that time, and no lecturers used the buildings. They could skip going through many of the unnecessary, troublesome steps to search for a lecture hall to conduct the class.

Qin Guan came to an amphitheater and swiftly located Xiao Qiang’s sleazy face. He suddenly felt like that brat had at some point turned into his anchor point whenever he came to class.

All the students in the faculty of arts had spontaneously chosen to sit together, and they were all located to the top right of the classroom.

Qin Guan’s expression turned sour when he saw this. Why was there only one seat left among them, and why was it in the first row?

Xiao Qiang waved at him energetically, and Qin Guan resigned himself to his future. All the students from the faculty of arts sat together, so he could not choose to leave the group and sit at the last row, right?

Besides, the students at the last row were from other faculties. He did not know a single one of them.

Qin Guan sat at the first row extremely reluctantly and asked Xiao Qiang. “What’s going on? Why are we sitting so close to the front?”

Xiao Qiang put on a very innocent face, showing that he had no part in making this decision. “Ask the girls from our faculty…”

Qin Guan understood what he meant. Clearly, the top students of his faculty still retained the good tradition of occupying the front seats during class. The girls came early and helped the other students from their faculty to occupy the top right region of the classroom.

They occupied the first and second row right from the start, and since Qin Guan was the last to arrive among the students from the faculty of arts, only one empty seat was left from the seats they occupied—one in the front row.

‘Oh well, let’s just leave it as it is. Fortunately, this isn’t a specialized field of study, and I won’t be called to answer questions…’

Qin Guan reluctantly accepted the fact that he had to sit in that particular seat.

He turned around to look at the situation of his new class.

It seemed like there were students from all departments and faculties. When he counted them in his head, he found that there were around twenty people from each department. Since there were about twenty departments in the university, there were around four hundred people in the class.

They were lucky that the amphitheater was large enough and it was not a problem for it to accommodate this number of people.

However, there were differences between universities. Others with larger faculties might have to look for extremely big amphitheaters or even split the students into different classes.

Qin Guan then looked at the students from the faculty of arts again. Including him, they numbered to twenty-two people, which meant that after they filled up the investigation form that day, besides him, another five people managed to clear the trial.

He originally thought that the number should be higher, but it seemed like the trial required much more talent than he originally thought.

Those with great talent might be able to clear the trial on the night it was launched. Those with less talent might not be able to clear even after another week.

The classes were still divided based on student year which meant that Su Xiaoyu was sent to join the Year 3 students.

The entire lecture building was basically occupied by people like them. Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Master’s students, and PhD students were all divided into different classes.

The classroom was rather quiet. After all, there was a guard outside, making the atmosphere solemn. No one wanted to speak.

When it was almost eight, a man who was around thirty and who stood tall and straight walked in through the door and went to the podium.

“Hello, everyone. I am Du Wei. You can think of me as your instructor or class adviser. I know that you have many questions, but please don’t ask them yet. Let me finish my speech before that.

“First, allow me to introduce my work unit. I am affiliated with the Parapsychology Association.”
