While Xing Yiyue's career and life continued to spiral down, the empress couldn't be bothered by it. Her concern was mostly for them to be able to apprehend Zhu Ziqian soon, so they could seek justice for Tang Beixuan's untimely death. More than ever, she wanted to put this ridiculous revenge to an end.
It wasn't like she didn't care what sins her husband committed in the past, but she was aware, more than anyone, that Feng Tianyi had regretted most of them, and was willing to change for the better. She wasn't also trying to discredit Zhu Ziqian's pain from losing his loved ones, but she couldn't understand why her brother had to pay the price to ease his grief.

There was a knock on the door of her office and Tang Moyu glanced towards it, keeping her spectacles on her face. No matter how worried she was, she also knew that she couldn't neglect the company she started with her husband.
Cheng Ning came into her sight, bringing some doc.u.ments that needed her approval.
"Miss Moyu, I already rescheduled your meeting with Director Han. I also sorted the doc.u.ments you need to sign here according to their importance," her assistant said before dropping the stack of folders on one side of her desk. Tang Moyu would only need to review and sign them— something she could easily do under an hour.
"Is that all?" she asked Cheng Ning. She noticed that her assistant's mood today was really good.
"Oh, Miss Meng also mentioned that she wanted to discuss the designs of the newest collection for the next season, and Lu Tianxin just called to let you know that she already dropped Luo Luo at your home and they are on their way to their honeymoon."
"Ah, is that so? That's great then."
Considering how many times Ye Xiaozu and Lu Tianxin's wedding had been postponed for the past year, the two had decided to just register their marriage first like what Tang Moyu did with Feng Tianyi, and chose to hold a wedding celebration once everything was settled.
Since Luo Luo couldn't possibly join the two in their honeymoon, he would be left in Tang Moyu's care, and would accompany the little buns at home for two weeks. Xiao Bao and Little Star had been ecstatic to know that their cousin would be staying with them for the meantime as they were starting to get bored being left at home.
"Alright. If that's all, then you can leave early. I don't think this would take so much time for me to finish it. Didn't you say you were invited to celebrate your friend's birthday tonight?" She told her assistant.
Cheng Ning nodded her head with enthusiasm. She was really looking forward to tonight's night out with her friends. Because her family wasn't here in Shenzhen, she could only spend her free time with some of the friends she made before working under Tang Moyu.
"En! We even planned to have some barbecue tonight, so I couldn't wait to meet them," she answered honestly. She and her friends had been planning for this meeting for some time now, and she didn't have the heart to miss it.
Tang Moyu chuckled at her assistant. Cheng Ning was really a person who wore her heart on her sleeve. She was also honest and decisive, something the empress admired about her. She hadn't met a lot of people who were like Cheng Ning. The trait that Tang Moyu liked the most about her was her willingness to learn from her mistakes, and not blaming anyone for her actions.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go and finish your task for the day, and then you can go. Remember to call me once you're home, so I wouldn't have to worry about hearing my assistant being found downtown alone and drunk."
Cheng Ning gasped, and then pouted at her boss's words. She had been working for Tang Moyu for almost two years now. Shouldn't the empress know how high her tolerance was when it came to drinking liquor?
"Miss Moyu! You know that I'm not a person like that. I might look delicate in your eyes, but I can hold my liquor well," she bragged shamelessly to her boss.
"I was just joking, Cheng Ning, but you do know I'm only concerned about your safety." Tang Moyu didn't want anyone to get hurt because of her. This was why she was also even worried about the old head nurse she met a week ago who was missing till this day.
"I understand, Miss Moyu. I would be careful," she conceded, knowing that her boss was only making sure she would be fine on her own.
She left Tang Moyu's office and finished the remaining tasks she had for the day before tidying up her table. Once done, she came back to retrieve the doc.u.ments her boss signed, so she could file them before leaving work. Once she was sure that everything had been done accordingly, she left work and eagerly messaged her friends that she was on her way to meet them.
When she stepped out of the building of Xiao Xing, she didn't notice the person watching her intently a few meters away from her. Cheng Ning hailed a cab, immediately went inside and gave the address to the driver. If only she'd been paying attention to her surroundings, she would have taken her boss's warning seriously.
Once the cab drove away, the same person who'd been waiting for her hailed another cab and followed the direction she'd taken.
