Chapter 374 - Wakey Wakey, Mommy! (2)
A heavy thump on the bed woke Tang Moyu up. Her eyes flew open as she sat up on Feng Tianyi's bed, rubbing her eyes, thinking something was amiss. The soft sound of laughter reached her ears causing her to turn around quickly to find its source.
It took her a moment, but she relaxed instantly when she found the cause. Her two little buns were already up before their usual waking time and were sitting next to her on the bed.
Resisting the urge to groan, Tang Moyu leaned her back on the headboard and shut her eyes again.
"Good morning, Mommy! Wakey wakey! It's time to wake up, Mommy!" She heard her daughter's cheery voice, clearly excited for their trip today. Her voice seemed far too loud in the early morning.
"Why are you up so early?" Tang Moyu inquired, cracking an eye open to look at her children. Weren't they having a hard time sleeping last night out of excitement? How come they were able to wake up so early and look so energized today?
"Because Daddy said we're leaving early." Unlike her twin sister, Xiao Bao looked calm this morning, although his eyes betrayed his face as the glint of excitement was still apparent.
Sighing heavily, Tang Moyu pushed back the covers and got to her feet. Picking up the new set of clothes she had prepared earlier, she made her way towards the bathroom, pausing for a moment to give her twins a good morning kiss.
"Go and find your Daddy Ji. I'll be joining you for breakfast once I'm done." She told them before disappearing into the bathroom.
An hour later, Tang Moyu stood beside her car as the twins settled themselves comfortably on the back seat and smiled to herself. She had been a bit worried because her little buns rarely travelled with her, but knowing that Feng Tianyi and their friends would be there to accompany them, she supposed this trip wasn't a bad idea at all.
When they finally left Peach Blossom Garden, Tang Moyu had given Li Meili and Gu Yuyao a call, informing them that she, along with Feng Tianyi and the twins, were on their way to the beach.
Song Fengyan had volunteered to drive them today and the empress was glad that she would have at least an hour to take a nap at the backseat with her children.
The Tang twins sat contentedly beside their mother. Little Star made herself comfortable on her mother's l.a.p and took a nap with her while Xiao Bao was immersed in a storybook.
After many stops that prolonged their travel time, they finally reached Xichong Beach. Feng Tianyi released the buckle of his seatbelt and turned to look at his small family, a smile appearing on his lips when he saw that Tang Moyu and Little Star had lost their battle to stay awake and had fallen asleep at some point during their journey.
Reaching out, he gently shook Tang Moyu awake and once again resisted the urge to kiss her as she quietly looked around her sleepily before looking at him.
"We've arrived. Do you need help with Little Star?" He asked as he glanced down at the sleeping girl on Tang Moyu's l.a.p. Xiao Bao had already alighted the car and gone with Song Fengyan to check out the rest house owned by the Song family near Xichong Beach.
"No need. I can manage." Tang Moyu said before adjusting her daughter's position on her l.a.p and together, they got out of the car. "How long have I been asleep?"
"An hour and a half, I think. Not that long." Feng Tianyi said before taking some of the luggage they brought from the trunk.
"Hey! No picking up heavy stuff!" They heard Song Fengyan's voice, who came back with Xiao Bao. Behind them, Gu Yuyao and Li Meili were chatting with each other while He Lianchen and Tang Beixuan had come to help them with their luggage.
The three of them picked up the bags and carried them inside the house with ease. Once everyone was settled inside the house, Little Star finally woke up from her nap as the voices around her reached her ears.
Little Star lifted her head from her mother's shoulder and looked around.
"Oh, she's finally awake!" Li Meili kissed the little girl's cheek and laughed at Little Star's confused reaction. "Wakey wakey, my little baby. We are here."
Little Star slipped out of her mother's hold and stood at the unfamiliar place. She looked around and found her Daddy sitting on the couch. Wordlessly, she walked towards him.
"Where are we?" She asked once she settled herself on his l.a.p.
"One of our rest houses." Feng Tianyi replied. "Are you hungry? Wanna take a bite before we check out the beach?"
At the mention of the beach, the two little buns nodded their heads incessantly, earning laughter from the a.d.u.l.ts.
"So what are we doing today?" Tang Moyu asked, checking her phone for messages from her assistant.
"What else but to spend the day at the beach?" Feng Tianyi said with a grin. "Auntie Lu and I made lunch earlier. You can eat first before going out."
Once they were done eating, the three women helped to clean the dirty dishes while the men brought their luggages up the stairs. Feng Tianyi chose the largest bedroom out of the four rooms and placed the bags on one side.
He then flopped on the massive bed and sighed. It had been too long since he had come to the beach. His attention turned to the door when he heard a knock, then he saw Song Fengyan at the doorway.
"What?" He asked.
"I hope you are aware that Tang Moyu might wear a bathing suit today. Or have you forgotten?"
