Chapter 308 - The Two Empresses (1)
Feng Tianyi learned about the meeting between Tang Moyu and his brother a little too late from Lu Tianxin when the latter had a slip and mentioned how Tang Moyu had managed to turn the tables against the white lotus, Xing Yiyue, and reminded Feng Tianhua how stupid he could be.
He never questioned Tang Moyu about why she never told him and she only shrugged her cousin's words as if she couldn't be bothered by Feng Tianhua's failed attempt to corner her.
"Did he say something to upset you?" Feng Tianyi knew that his younger brother had a bad temper. But if Tianhua dared to utter some bullshit to Tang Moyu, he would deal with his brother himself.
Tang Moyu froze for a moment, a spoon pressed against her lips as she ate her share of the ice cream. Little Star had been craving for it and it took some time before she managed to convince her mother to buy her one. So today, the empress came home with a few tubs of different flavors.
"He always speaks like I owe him some explanation. I don't know why he and his wife constantly show up and speak nonsense. They are really a match made in heaven, don't you think?" She replied with a smirk.
Feng Tianyi chuckled. Ah, at least his woman knew how to protect herself. He didn't need to worry about her every time she was out in public, but that didn't mean he was fine with her being seen with another man.
He understood Tang Moyu. Even though he wanted to teach his little brother a lesson, wanting to crush him into pieces… Feng Tianyi had to consider what Tang Moyu wanted. He wouldn't destroy Feng Tianhua if that meant the empress would end up hating him.
At the rate his therapy was going, he should be able to walk around with his cane without the need of his wheelchair in about three to four months' time. Feng Tianyi couldn't wait to go out and see the world with Tang Moyu.
It wasn't like he was already bored being left at home, now that the twins started attending school, but he missed doing the things he used to do before his accident.
"I wouldn't be able to go with you and the twins to Beijing this weekend. I have a conference in Hangzhou. I would have asked Lu Tianxin to attend it, but she already made plans with Ye Xiaouzu and Luo Luo."
Lu Tianxin had been a great help to her lately and this was one of the rare times her cousin asked for a short leave to spend time with her fiance and son.
He Lianchen and Gu Yuyao's wedding will be held in five days and they would need to fly to the capital to attend it. The groom and the bride had already left for Beijing from Shenzhen three days ago for the preparation of their wedding.
Li Meili had already finished the wedding dress and had gone with Gu Yuyao, intending to add the final touches before the wedding took place.
"Aren't they going to attend the wedding? But you will be travelling alone then." Feng Tianyi asked. He didn't mind taking the twins with him and Song Fengyan to Beijing, but he was worried that Tang Moyu still chose to work at this time.
"It's no problem, Tianyi. I have done this before. It's nothing new." The empress assured him. This was nothing compared to what she'd done at Feng Conglomerate before, where she needed to fly from one city to another in under 24 hours.
"Then I'll send four bodyguards to accompany you. I hate it when you leave on your own." Feng Tianyi decided.
"Tianyi…" Tang Moyu sighed and put down her ice cream and spoon. "There's no need for this."
"Please, Moyu. Allow me. I trust you, but not all those people you meet outside. For the peace of my mind, please bring them with you." He pressed on.
"You are the CEO of your company, but you still act like a regular employee, driving yourself to work or only bringing Miss Cheng with you. I know you can protect yourself, no doubt about that." Feng Tianyi added. He also didn't think he would be able to subdue her if they were to fight each other in a one on one match.
"If you aren't worried about your safety, at least consider protecting Miss Cheng. Her work isn't easy and people might get ideas of using her to attack you." He added.
Of course, Tang Moyu understood his concern. Looking at his serious face, she knew he wouldn't back down on this request.
"Fine." She conceded.
Tang Moyu realized that she was compromising a lot of things lately when it comes to her and the little buns safety. This shouldn't be something she needed to argue with Feng Tianyi, but he had a point. She was also responsible for Cheng Ning's welfare.
"The conference will run for three days." She explained. "Chen Ning has already booked our flight to Beijing, so we should have at least a day to rest before the wedding."
Feng Tianyi looked pleased with her decision.
"Don't worry about the bodyguards. It would be under my bill and they're loyal to my mother."
"I've been meaning to ask. Aren't you a Feng? Shouldn't you be utilizing your father's fortune?" Tang Moyu asked.
Feng Tianyi considered her questions and thought for a moment before answering her.
"I don't care about Feng Conglomerate anymore. I realize that it wasn't the one I truly wanted from my father. When he gave the company to Tianhua, I thought he failed me. I was the one whom he raised as his heir, but it still ended up in his mistress's child's hand." He paused as he stared down at his teacup.
"I realize there are things more important than the company. Plus, Qing Tian Group is more exciting, so why would I choose Feng Conglomerate?"
