145 You Can't Fool Me Twice, Lu Tianxin 3
"Miss Gu, I'm really sorry for what I did back there. I accidentally slipped." She told Gu Yuyao, ashamed that she almost caused trouble for the other woman.
The Gu family's heiress chuckled and shook her head. While Lu Tianxin was a capable partner, her hesitation would put her at risk if she couldn't keep it in check.
"There's nothing to apologize for, Miss Lu. In fact, you gave me a great opening to force President Ye to cooperate with us." She replied before igniting the engine of her car. Since everything in this meeting had followed Tang Moyu's deduction, it was easy for Gu Yuyao to make adjustments.
"I did?" Lu Tianxin asked in confusion. She really thought she messed up big time earlier and Gu Yuyao had to intervene to save the situation they were in.
"Yep." Gu Yuyao reaffirmed. "Since you laid out the exact intention of our company from the start, it was easier for me to convince President Ye to stick with the timeline he offered first. If we decided to disagree earlier, he would make it hard for you by reducing it to under two weeks." She explained in a matter-of-fact tone.
Her car left the premises of Ye Corporation as Gu Yuyao drove back to Futian District where the Tang Enterprise's headquarters was located. Although the company wasn't as huge nor as influential as Feng Conglomerate, the Tang family had succeeded in establishing the company within the business and financial center of Shenzhen's special economic zone.
"Then I'm glad. I'll make sure to be more careful next time."
Lu Tianxin sighed in relief. Thank goodness they were able to convince Ye Xiaozu to cooperate with them. However, she also realized it meant that this wouldn't be the last time they were going to meet each other. After meeting Ye Xiaozu today, she didn't think she owed him anything for her to get flustered and intimidated by his presence.
She made a mental note to harden her heart the next time they met. Whatever happened to them in the past had nothing to do with the deal between Tang Enterprise and Ye Corporation.
The drive back to the Futian District was a little long because of traffic. The busy streets were filled with shoppers who were visiting stalls and shopping centers in the area.
Gu Yuyao groaned as her car slowed down upon reaching the next traffic light. Even in Shenzhen, urban traffic congestion was still a problem. Not only it affects business productivity by increasing operating costs, but it also reduces the size of market areas served from any given business location.
However, it was also obvious that Lu Tianxin didn't have enough experience, something that Gu Yuyao had no doubt their Deputy CEO would be able to overcome soon.
"Just so you know, Miss Lu, Sister Moyu only said that I'll accompany you today. I might not be able to come with you for the site inspection. President Ye will be there to oversee the inspection, so you better be prepared by then." She told Lu Tianxin.
"I understand." Lu Tianxin's eyes fixated on the road ahead of them. It's not like she had much choice anyway. She just needed to suck it up and face him. It was bound to happen anyway.

Lu Tianxin parked her car just outside Tang Moyu's gate at Peach Blossom Garden. Unlike her apartment, which was situated in the busy downtown of the city, her cousin's place was ideal to raise little children like Xiao Bao and Little Star.
Peach Blossom Garden was a lovely neighborhood and it gave its residents enough privacy and security. Tang Moyu's property was spacious with a well manicured lawn in front of the main house and a vast garden at the backyard where the guest house was situated.
No wonder Tang Moyu chose this place even though she knew that the cost would be pretty expensive. Lu Tianxin would have done the same thing if only she could afford one of the properties here at Peach Blossom Garden.
She tried to brush off the memories of her meeting with Ye Xiaozu earlier that morning. She didn't want her son to notice that she was distressed about something. Lu Ziluo, at his young age, was so perceptive that he could easily figure out her emotions.
Her knuckles turned white as she tightened her hold on the steering wheel, her eyes brimmed with tears, which confused her further. There was no reason for her to cry anymore. Since she rejected Ye Xiaozu eight years ago, she could only hold it in and move on with her life without him.
It was for his own good anyway. If she had gone with him to Singapore, Lu Tianxin was sure that their relationship wouldn't last long.
Ye Xiaozu didn't need to know about the tragedy that had befallen her and how she had to cope with one tragedy after another. She wasn't the same stupid girl he'd met years ago. Her focus in life now was solely on raising Luo Luo now and she couldn't care less about how she would be perceived as a single mother.
Taking deep breaths to calm herself, Lu Tianxin got out of her car once she managed to reign her emotions. The moment she reached the guest house, her son Lu Ziluo immediately ran towards her with glee, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Lu Tianxin allowed a smile to bloom on her face.
"Mommy, you're back!" The seven year old boy grinned back at his mother.
