As the duel began, Declan wasted no time in showing off his wind affinity. He summoned gusts of air, creating a whirlwind around him. His mastery over wind magic was evident, and it was clear that he wasn't to be underestimated.

Though Callius knew his strength.

'All Seeing Eye.' Callius thought, his eyes scanning the enemy before him.

-----------------------------

Knight Rank – 2-star

Attributes – Wind, Dark

----------------------------

Looking at the panel before him, it was evident from his class alone that Declan was a person suited for the wind affinity.

Callius remained calm and focused, his crimson gaze never leaving his opponent. He knew that he couldn't afford any mistakes against someone as skilled as Declan. With a deep breath, he channeled his fire mana, enveloping his hands in flames.

"Let me show you how you use your magic," Declan said, wind obeying his command.

SWOOSH SWISH

The clash of wind and fire magic filled the air as the two opponents circled each other. Declan's wind gusts tried to push Callius back, but he stood his ground, using his fire magic to create a shield of flames to protect himself.

"Is that all you've got?" Declan taunted, his arrogance, still on full display.

However, Callius did not say anything as he only focused on the fight. He was constantly observing every bit of movement from the side of Declan.

SWISH SWOOSH

Callius didn't respond with words but with action. He launched a volley of fireballs at Declan, who deftly dodged and weaved through the flames with his wind magic.

The way Declan moved was a perfect example of how wind mages fought and how they utilized their characteristics.

When it came to fighting, wind mages were more on the side of mobility and supportive side than destruction.

At least it was general knowledge, which Declan was proving to the wrong.

The audience watched in awe as the two mages battled, each displaying their incredible talents. It was clear that this was no ordinary duel; it was a clash of titans.

As the duel continued, Declan's attacks grew more aggressive. He conjured sharp "Wind Blades" and sent them hurtling towards Callius, aiming to cut through his defenses.

But thanks to Callius' All-Seeing Eye, he could predict Declan's movements, and thanks to his newly acquired insight into the magic, he could react in time to block the oncoming attacks.

From observing the man alone, he could understand which type of magic Declan was trying to conjure.

And for him controlling the mana was a lot easier right now.

'My mana is moving way smoother than before. I think my casting speed for fire magic was reduced by at least half of the normal time.' Callius thought as he ignited his hands.

'I guess I should thank the tower master for the book she gave me.'

After all, even though his own talent was the main reason, undoubtedly, the booklet that was given to him by Cernais helped.

SWOOSH

Mana swirled on his hands as he conjured the spell he had studied from the booklet. While fighting with Diana, he couldn't use it since he was not proficient, but that was no longer the case.

Inferno Blasts.

BOOM

He summoned huge amounts of flame underneath the ground as the fire suddenly erupted under Declan.

SWOOSH HOWL

For a moment, it looked like Callius had the upper hand, but Declan wasn't so easily defeated. Declan channeled his wind magic into a powerful tornado, deflecting the flames and sending them back at Callius.

SWIRL

However, using his own flames against him wouldn't do any good. After all, in this field, Callius was the master of flames. With a swift motion, he conjured a wall of fire, stopping the tracks of the flamed tornado.

'This is a good idea. Later I should use this.' Callius thought. Using the wind magic's speed and momentum would increase the strength of the fire.

The duel continued, the two mages pushing themselves to their limits. The air crackled with magic, and the ground beneath them trembled from the force of their attacks.

"You're not bad, Commoner," Declan said with a hint of surprise in his voice. "But let's see how you handle this!"

He raised his hands, and a powerful gust of wind enveloped the arena. The wind coalesced into a massive "Wind Elemental," a towering creature made of swirling air.

'Ho. So you are using your family's magic finally.' Callius thought. Every renowned family of special affinity had their own familiar summoning magic, and Wind Elemental was the lesser version of the Blackwood family's original one. After all, Callius had seen quite a lot of villains in the game, and the Blackwood family was one of them.

"You are dead," Declan spoke as if he was sure of his win now.

The Wind Elemental was a silhouette formed by the wind alone.

SWOOSH SWOOSH

With a swift motion, the elemental disappeared from the place it was staying, immediately appearing before Callius.

SWOOSH

And he swung his arms that were in the form of a blade of wind.

"HAHAHAHAH! NOW YOU WILL LEARN YOUR PLACE COMMONER!" Declan laughed like a madman as the elemental of wind was about to destroy Callius.

The crowd gasped in horror as they saw the massive Wind Elemental closing in on Callius. They thought he was trapped, and some even feared that he might be seriously injured or worse.

BOOM

Just at that moment, an explosion occurred. The explosion of waves spread throughout the arena, just like yesterday.

However, Declan was not a fool. He knew Callius would use such a spell, so he had already enchanted his elemental with his own windshield.

"AHHAAHHA! I KNOW YOU WOULD DO THAT COMMONER!"

He spoke like a madman again as his eyes ventured around the smoke. Even though he could not see what was happening inside with his normal eyes, thanks to his art, he was able to feel the life force of his elemental and Callius inside.

'Heh, you are now finished, you bastard. Let me show you why I am better.'

As the smoke billowed around the dueling grounds, obscuring the view, the audience strained to catch a glimpse of the battle unfolding within. The silhouette of the Wind Elemental clashed with a shadowy figure, moving at a rapid speed, and the sound of explosions echoed from within the haze.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

Constant sounds of explosions and the fast movements of wind could be heard.

The crowd held their breath, their eyes glued to the spectacle before them. Murmurs of amazement and surprise spread through the onlookers as they witnessed the intensity of the duel.

"Did you see that? Callius is incredible!" exclaimed one student in awe.

"I can barely keep up with their movements! How can he defend himself" said another, squinting to try and catch a better view. Even though none of them could see the actual battle from the sounds alone, they could feel the wind elemental was welcomed with a strong force.

However, there was one other person inside this equation.

Declan.

There was a reason why Declan was the fourth seat of the academy. He was proficient in using his Elemental. As he supplied more mana to his elemental, its speed increased, which could be seen in the smoke.

'Now, you are finished.' He thought to himself.

However, at that moment, something unexpected happened…..
