CHAPTER 96

On the other hand, the guys were left with no choice, but to walk out of the kitchen, giving her, her much-desired space.

It did not take long however, she came out, bearing in her hand some of the dishes she prepared in a tray.

Immediately, both men stood up from their seats and hurriedly rushed to her side to help her.

While Liu Xueyi got to the tray first Gu Jun tsked away and attempted to follow her to the kitchen.

"Stay back," Andromeda warned before she exited the living room.

By the time the table was served, they all took their seats at either side of her hand and went in for the kill.

Every now and then, both Gu Jun and Liu Xueyi would offer Andromeda some of the side dishes on the table.

At one point her mouth got filled as Liu Xueyi openly fed her. Before she could protest, he would fill his chopstick and give her a side dish.

The next time as she chewed, he picked some shredded chicken in his chopstick and was about to lift it up when another pair of chopsticks held his in place.

He lifted his gaze just in time to see the wanton smile on Gu Jun's face. "Do not choke her to death, Liu Xueyi. Just look at her."

Reluctantly, Liu Xueyi averted his gaze from Gu Jun and looked at Andromeda.

Judging from the way her chest rose and fell, he understood what Gu Jun was getting at. He had overfed this woman with meal after meal.

"Just because I have been quiet, doesn't mean I would let you kill her with food."

"Fine. I want her to eat and be strong. She has been overworking herself."

"And who is the boss that gives her too much work?"

As much as Gu Jun did not speak so much about her work affairs, he hinted at something very deep to Liu Xueyi.

He nodded his head and withdrew his chopsticks from the plate, gently pacing them down on his.

"You are right. I have been negligent to her needs. You are taking a day's break, Andromeda and also, I would drive you and pick you up from work. I want nothing stressing you so much."

"What?"

"Yes. You should allow him, Andromeda. He cares. Let him show it. Prove to me how much he cares about his special top designer," Gu Jun initiated.

She did not know if he was siding her or he was siding Liu Xueyi. Because from the way she saw it, he was having fun.

"Please, shall we eat?" They nodded at her and continued with their meal.

By the time they were done, all three cleared the dishes and while Andromeda washed the dirty dishes, both men talked calmly about a few things.

By the time she was done. She checked the time to see it was already pretty late.

Surprisingly, she wasn't the only one thinking the same thing. The moment she walked back to the living room, she met both of them on their phones with Gu Jun yawning his tiredness away.

"It is late and you are yawning," Liu Xueyi hinted.

"Yeah," she voiced out from behind them as she walked over to from the back of the chair. "I think it is pretty late and time for you to head home."

"Home? I am home, Andromeda. I intend on sleeping over today."

Both Andromeda had their jaws dropped at his words. It was Liu Xueyi who broke the awkward silence first.

"What?"

"Yes. Anything bad?"

"Yes," they chorused together.

"Hahaha." A loud laugh erupted from deep within at their expressions. If he could, he would have captured this moment and kept it in a painting to remember.

"Do not worry. Lose the expression I was only joking," he teased, getting up on his feet.

He spent the next few seconds arranging his clothes, looking like a proper gentleman in his jean trousers and matching black t-shirt.

"I got to go, Andromeda. I have to wake up early for work tomorrow. Thanks truly for the meal."

"Anytime lazy bones." Her smile reached up to her eyes as she felt the sincerity in his words.

"And Liu Xueyi, please take care of her for me. I would not appreciate you working her to death."

"Sure."

He dipped in his head a bit and turned his attention back on Andromeda, closing the gap between them.

"Hey," she breathed out.

"Hey," Gu Jun responded back. His smile was dry, but his eyes twinkled with mirth. "He's a good catch," he whispered at her.

"What nonsense is your brain conjuring?"

Her fingers found their way to his hair, grabbing a good deal of it as they tugged desperately but not painfully at his strands, scattering his neatly combed hair.

"Now you look better," she winked. "Like an epic playboy. Kill those girls would ya?"

"How about I kill you."

"He would not let you go," she hinted at Lou Xueyi.

"Hahhaa sure. Your boss is jealous and I think he is now. I can feel his heated gaze on my back."

"Well, you had it coming. What can I say?"

"Wicked. Is this how you treat your bestie?"

"Well, my bestie should know better."

Smiling at her, he winked as he pulled her in for a hug. "You would be fine."

Breaking the hug, Gu Jun did not spend another minute and walked past her, leaving Andromeda in the safe hands of her boss.

She waited for the door to close behind him before turning around to face her last night's guest.

Even after he left, Liu Xueyi did not utter one word and waited for her to have a seat but she didn't.

Of course, she knew there was so much he had to ask but being him, his silence did the speaking.

"Umm, care for some fruits?" She inquired.

"No. Come, have a seat."

"Okay." Saying that did not lift the weight in her chest nor reduce the awkwardness she felt.

With each step she took, her heart kept thudding wildly in her chest.
