"Xueyi," she called out more loudly this time, her voice carrying into his house.
There was no point in hiding her shock, that he left her, but really. He didn't call her or anything.
"Hi. Can I come in please?"
"Hmm, depends." His eyes widened at her, waiting for a reasonable explanation as to what she meant.
Rather than giving him the explanation he wished for, Andromeda smiled at him and paved her way into the house.
Liu Xueyi heaved a sigh of relief and entered. "Thanks."
As soon as Andromeda shut the door behind her, she turned to face him with both hands crossed in front of her chest.
"You didn't call." That was her first and best way of attacking and cornering him.
He turned to face her fully, spreading both of his hands to the side.
"I did call, Andy. You should try to pick up your calls. No. I think having it with you would be better. Then you can tell whether or not I actually made a call or not," he corrected her.
To Andromeda, however, it was more like scolding. Yes, she forgot after Gu Jun had called her and then she went straight to start preparing the meal.
Speaking of a meal, her eyes landed on Liu Xueyi and watched as his nostril flared a bit, sniffing the air.
"Something delicious is cooking, I guess I came at the right time."
Before Andromeda got the chance to answer, he walked further into the living room and took a seat, crossing his legs.
The smile on his lips faded and his expression became ardent.
"You should really get back to cooking, else you would have burnt food and I trust my stomach does not want anything burnt."
Andromeda raised a brow at him. Was he serious now or was he just messing around with her?
Regardless, having time for his taunt wasn't what she had in mind.
It was just that, Gu Jun was around and he would have a nice time taunting her later with Liu Xueyi.
On one hand, it was something challenging to have a naughty CEO and on the other hand, it was also having a troublesome friend.
"Hmm." All she could do was smile and she waded her way back to the kitchen.
The second she took the first step, his eyes landed on her back, assessing her outfit and loving how simple she was in the blue floral thigh-high fled gown with an apron properly tied around her waist.
'Focus, Xueyi. You cannot be admiring her again and get a reaction like this.'
Slowly, he inhaled deeply as he waited. His eyes scanned the entire living room, loving how she had chosen to decorate.
The last time he was here, he had been too hot and distracted to actually take in everything in the house but now that he had the free time, he took in her taste, remembering every single small bit of it.
She had just stepped into the kitchen when she felt a hand wrap in her wrist and pull her body over close to the counter.
"Hey," she whispered at him, her gaze turning stern at almost being hurt from how annoying the pain on her butt felt.
His small eyes suddenly opened wide, staring deep into hers, hoping for some explanation. "Who is that?"
"My boss." She said and pushed his body away from her. "What's your deal, dimwit?"
"Nothing." Gu Jun responded and took another step back, giving her the breathing space she desired. "He just seems…"
"I told you to cut the vegetables before my return but what do I have here? You were busy eavesdropping on me."
"Hey, I couldn't help it when I heard you telling him he didn't call. I came to protect you."
"Protect me?" He nodded at his answer for her, leading to her shaking her head. "What am I, twelve?"
"Yup. To me, you would always be my baby." He moved in again, this time slowly while giving her his mysterious wink.
She knew once he got like that, he was going to be naughty and she was going to be tickled.
"I think it is more than that. Your boss just walks in at any time."
"You say it like I am doing a bad thing. Besides, he came to visit. Nothing more."
He placed his finger on his chin briefly and when he kept his gaze on her, Andromeda saw a dark glint flash before his eyes and was reminded of how naughty someone else just a few metres from them was.
"Hmm. Okay. Do you like him?" His words were both straight and direct, shocking Andromeda, and catching her off guard fully.
However, having someone like Gu Jun as a friend, she knew how to evade such questions with ease.
"Stop thinking too much, Jun. Let's cook."
She evaded his question easily and walked over to the gas. A few minutes passed and Gu Jun did nothing to disturb her.
However, the second he saw her keep the ladle on a tray at the side of the sink, he smiled to himself as he made his way straight behind her.
"You didn't answer my question, Andromeda? You should ask yourself soon."
Her brows furrowed deeply. She was tired of his games and as much as Liu Xueyi was around, he was definitely going to see Gu Jun.
She could not deny there was no hiding.
"Huh?" She was left in her confused state when saw him close the gap between them.
"Tell me, Andromeda, what is going on between you two?"
"As I said earlier. There is nothing going on between the two of us. Now, if you would allow me to cook, we shall get this over with quickly and resume eating."
"Hmm, funny." She turned to face what she was doing when his fingers made marks on her skin, tickling at her sides as her body twisted and turned, close to him and driving her nuts in the process.
Andromeda could not hold it in as much as she wished she could and the next thing she knew she was busy laughing a lot.
She reached up with her hand, clasping them over her mouth, hoping it won't disturb anyone but with her predicament, it was useless.
Liu Xueyi had been going through a book on his phone when he heard voices.
At first, he wished to deny what he heard but his curious mind got the better of him and he rushed into the kitchen.
The sight he saw however, nothing could have prepared him for that.
"Andromeda?"
