CHAPTER 82

"I know. That brat couldn't help but make an entrance with the news into my ears."

As she said that, the waiter moved over to them to take their order. Once he was done, they were left alone with the matter fully out in the open.

"How do you feel now that I have been wasting my time?"

"I feel normal and you did not waste your time. I just happened to have been told before you did. And it felt nice watching you act up. However, I wonder, why try to hide it?"

"Do not speak as though you do not know why I would keep such from you and protect you."

"I am no baby, Gu Jun. It is I, Andromeda."

"But you fell into the hands of that scumbag, Wu Bai."

"I know, please do not remind me."

"Fine. I won't do that. Anyways, you know why I wouldn't inform you of his arrival, at least yet."

"Yeah, but be rest assured. After all, says who it is bad? It's actually needed. I have not raced in a while."

"I know. How choked are you feeling at work?"

"A bit with the event. I just want it to go smooth and flawless."

"It would. I can arrange for you to race some top geeks here if you want."

"Umm, nag. Let's wait for him. I miss my baby."

"Sure. As you wish." Just then the waiter walked over to them. "Ah, the waiter is here. I am starving."

*****

By the time she got back to work the next day, things picked up speed more than before, leaving her speechless and tired.

Daily, she got more orders than before and it always stressed her brain out, handling it all.

While things seemed so okay, herself and Liu Xueyi did their best in avoiding each other.

He let himself pursue the business proposal to the best of his knowledge and ensure that they would be winning the 2023 award bidding.

On the other hand, Andromeda was a mess with things. With the influx of orders, she needed more materials and now she also had a limit fo some of the needed materials for the fashion show.

Her chest heaved up, releasing a heavy sigh and she brushed the fallen lock of har from her face. "Pftt!"

Cold sweat broke on her face while she handled more of the designs been sent to her as she tried to supervise other matters.

It wasn't like they were so short on man power. Everyone was working but those two outfits she did was a break and a bomb shell.

Noticing the hard time she was having, Jiao Xiaofei walked up to her holding a tray with a glass of chilled water and a can of juice.

"Here. You need both," she pressed a smile on her lips.

From the way her hair glued to her forehead, how ragged her breathing worst and the smile she so desperately tried to make look genuine, Andromeda knew she was stressed out.

Returning her smile, she picked the glass of chilled water first and without thinking, drank it all up then nodded at her.

"You did well today, Jiao Xiaofei. All of you did well," Andromeda praised.

"Thanks ma. But really, Miss Andromeda, you did best supervising us. Even Miss Gao can testify and she who usually lazy's around is here to help."

"Hheee," both ladies giggled at her comment, holding their stomach to control the hard laugh planning on spilling free. "You do not want her hearing that, you know."

"Yeah. Have a juice so that you can get a little rest before you carry on."

Her smile broadened, spreading across her face but the young lady's concern.

"Thanks, Xiaofei. Do not worry about me. Get me in touch with the clothing department, I need to know have they been able to get the order I made for those materials."

"No worries. I checked on my way back up. They haven't. Apparently, we would have a hard time getting access to those materials these point I time."

"Hmm. Okay. But why?" Andromeda inquired, lifting her brows as she took the canned drink and waited for an explanation. "I thought there was enough to buy the last time?"

"Someone surprisingly bought all the materials in bulk and stole them away."

"What now?" Andromeda half yelled. It was a good thing there was no liquid in her mouth, else Jiao Xiaofei's face would h=not have been spared from the assualt.

"I am sorry, I did not mean to shout."

"It isn't me you should be worried about but them," she gestured towards their side. By now several of their workers had their eyes on them except those who had their head buried in their work.

"Umm, everyone, please that is okay for now. Kindly take a fifteen minutes break to stretch up and get a clearer mind. After that we work till lunch break."

"Thank you ma."

"Thanks."

Several greetings were sent her way as they headed her words. "You should leave too, Xiaofei. I can manage just fine," Andromeda said convincingly.

"Okay, I won't argue but I want to assist you a bit."

Andromeda rolled her eyes in their socket at Jaio Xiaofei. "You can and you will. First things first. Take a break and I would right after I make some calls to find an alternative."

"Huh, ma…" she called out, seemingly lost in space.

"Yes?"

"We have the CEO. Why can't we ask him for help? I bet it would be easier if he knows about this situation. He has contacts everywhere."

"I know but it is not an option. Should in case something happens to him, how would be stand strong? Keep Mr Liu out of this, I would solve it."

"Fine." Andromeda smiled in acknowledgement before turning on her heels and heading to her table. "As you wish. If there is anything you need, just let me know."

"Hopefully I don't since you especially need the rest. Now, off you go," Andromeda stated and turned to face Jiao Xiaofei. "Thanks."

"Anytime, Miss Andromeda. Bye."
