CHAPTER 81 – Dinner With Gu Jun

"Are you sure?" Andromeda's brows raised at him. Even if he wanted to avoid her, he could not.

Not when she was behaving like a keen detective in charge of a case. Nope. One could not evade her prying eyes when she wanted to get out a piece of information.

Letting out a deep sigh, Gu Jun nodded his head to a silent rhythm before fixing his attention back on her again. "I am sure. Have a little bit of faith and trust me for once."

Her brow arched up, even more, mirroring the contorted frown on her face as she stared at him. They stayed like that for some seconds before bursting into a round of laughter.

"Hahaha," Gu Jun pointed at her face. "Damn, Andromeda, that expression was priceless, baby."

She shrugged without thinking too much on the matter, "What can I say? Your words just deserved every teeny tiny bit of that expression."

"I see. I believe you, my dear." He leaned back into his seat and tapped lightly on the table. "I am glad you have been happy, Andromeda. Truly I am glad."

'Me too Gu Jun. It might have looked a bit bleak and I am just starting but I did shake off Wu Bai and for that I am grateful."

He nodded his head slightly, averting his gaze to something else other than her face.

"What is it? I know that face?" Andromeda asked, dimming her eyes at him.

"Umm, nothing," Gu Jun lifted his head. A pure smile adorned his slim lips and he winked, parting his lips slightly. By the way, how is work at Liu Corporation?"

"It s fine." Andromeda reached for her glass of drink and picked it up bringing it to her lips slowly.

All the while, her eyes remained locked on him, watching for any mistake to be made. And when she found none, she took a big sip of her drink before lowering the glad down on the table.

"And hope you are not having any troubles?"

"No. I just need to plan properly for this fashion show and then I would have a bit of rest while designing mire outfits to help it a mark and target."

"Target? This is nice." He too took his drink and took a sip before leaning forward on the table with both hands locked in front of him. "What's your target in getting into your ex's rival company?"

"Isn't it obvious? I am going to rule but from a different standpoint, Gu Jun. I am going to bring Wu Bai's company down."

"How?"

"So many ways, my dear friend. One, I would rise in all fashion ranks, and fashion competitions and take the yearly title of Queen of the fashion world. I would do everything to ensure they pay for stealing my designs and remodelling them as Beatrice Zhang's all these years."

The more she spoke, the more the flames of revenge brimmed in those beautiful blue eyes of hers.

Right now, she did not look like the careful daughter of the Kai family that had obediently done as she was told all her life.

Well until she ditched them after her mother's death.

Right now, she had the ambience and aura of a divine vengeful goddess that would repay the realm in its wickedness.

"I like that. So where do you need my help?"

"Huh?" Her brows furrowed deeply. Yes, she knew he had been her friend and always there for her, but this was her revenge.

"What? Why are you not so trusting of me?"

"I am. It is just that, sigh… Why do you want to bother your cute little head with my problems, Jun?"

"And why shouldn't I? You are my close friend and if I do not look out for you, who will?"

Letting out another sigh, Andromeda shook her head at him. "Evasive yet again. Until when would you be so bold to look me in the eyes when you are not hiding something from me?"

Snapping his head to face her, he stared deep into her eyes as he uttered those words loud and clear, "I would and I can."

"Good." She took one more sip of her drink and then dropped it on the table before crossing her arms under her chest. "So, tell me already. What do you want to say?"

Shaking his head Gu Jun's lips pulled back a notch to reveal a candid smile. "Your eyes are too keen just that I wonder why they are like that on me and never on that Wu Bai of a snake?"

"Easy, I was in love."

"And I?"

"I love you but you are the closest thing I have to a best friend now."

"Ouch!" H playfully placed a hand on his chest. "What was I before? Tsk," leaning back on his chair, Gu Jun pressed his lips into a thin line.

"I'm sorry. Do not mind me. I always end up loving the wrong guy. Thanks for always being there."

"Andromeda, you are…" he came back closer, just to taunt and prove to her his point. "Welcome."

However, that was his mistake as the second his hand made a mark on the table, she grabbed onto it.

"Out with it, Gu Jun. We have played chess long enough. What is it you want to tell me?"

A cheeky grin appeared on his face, adorning his eyes further and giving him the glow of a dashing young man.

"Fine. He is coming to the country."

"Who?"

"You know who, Xie. He is returning anytime soon."

Time seemed to have stopped for both of them as no one spoke to the other but kept their close gaze pinned on the other person.

After what seemed to be like forever, Andromeda chuckled out a laugh before letting him go and relaxing on her seat.

His brows creased in confusion as he did not hide it from her. "What's so funny?" Gu Jun asked, lifting his palm a bit at her.

"You and everything." He still looked at her not really getting her point until Andromeda smiled. "I know. That brat couldn't help but make an entrance with the news into my ears."
