Chapter 537 Qi Fuyi's Predicament

CHAPTER 537
With the lead he got on Yu An, Liu Xueyi wasted no time in targeting her. However, Andromeda had a momentary setback in her plans for her fans meet and greet event.
As much as she wished to move forward with her plans, Director Qi strongly advised against it. Who knew the kind of trap she could walk into, given that both anti-fans and fans alike could be present for the event?
While Andromeda faced her issues and looked for a way around them, Fang Qian Qian was overjoyed by the outcome of things.
"She thinks she can rise against me and succeed." She scoffed, rolling the wine in her half-filled glass as she gazed on thoughtfully. "She must be dreaming."
"Well, you can thank me for the tip," Lisa chimed in, hoping for some gift or something from her friend.
"Oh sure. I already have my eyes set on a golden necklace from You An's company's latest jewelry set that was released this week."
"Oh my… You should have told me since." Both ladies burst into an uproar of laughter.
As soon as their laughter quieted down, Fang Qian Qian flipped her hair and proceeded to take a seat opposite her friend.
"By the way, shouldn't you be shooting today? I thought the crew would be travelling for the next five scenes."
"We should. Although I haven't heard any news from them, ever since we threatened to pull our financing and made arrangements sluggish, Director Qi has been so busy dealing with many things. You know, I almost feel sorry for him."
Lisa chuckled loudly. "Feel sorry? Girl, you placed him there." She shook her head, took a swing at her wine, and gestured for the maid to fill up her glass. "Wouldn't it affect you, though, if the movie's production becomes slow?"
"No. My manager secured me another leading role in a new movie. It should start production this month."
"I see. Nice one girl. I'm rooting for you."
Fang Qian Qian lifted her glass in acknowledgement of her friend's praise. "Thanks. That aside, I know my plan would ruin Andromeda's fan base too. If her first movie is going to face this kind of drop, it would tell bad about her to other directors and clients. And her popularity would drop too."
"It's cool. You didn't have to do much anyway. She'd soon hit rock bottom."
"Exactly, my plan. Then I can make another move on Liu Xueyi. This time, I'll make sure I succeed and have him bed me."
"Why not use an aphrodisiac or drug him like in those light novels?" Lisa advised.
"Nah. Even I have my own code of conduct. I believe in my seductive charms."
"Alright but what will you do in regards to her fan meet and greet event?"
"Knowing Qi Fuyi, he would advise against it. Besides, he has too much on his plate now for him to be bothered by Andromeda Kai. Her agent would stop it too and if she goes ahead, I have fans ready to cause a big commotion. Who knows, breaking a limb or two in the process wouldn't be a bad idea for Andromeda."
A cruel laugh broke out from Lisa as she gave a nod. "Always the devil's protege," she teased.
"I live to please."

*Director Qi's Office*
"It's coming down fully. We need the funds, sir." Ever since Director Qi got wind of the funding issues for the new movie, he has been making calls to get things back in order.
He had a strong belief that the movie would do well, but now he was facing a big wall.
"But sir… with the new actress, I believe we would sell more."
"What actress, Andromeda Kai? Pfft. The very one who scandals never fails to avoid, or is there a different one?"
Qi Fuyi gritted. He knew Andromeda's predicament was a result of jealous foes but he believed in her greatly.
"Director, think of what and who is best for your movie. Take a look at Director Dong, his is promising. Only then would we reconsider financing the movie properly."
"Director Dong? Who are you…"
"I have said my bit; the rest is up to you."
Before Qi Fuyi could speak further, the call ended abruptly. He clenched his fist so hard and right as he glared at the phone screen.
"Director Dong? What is good about a movie with a simple plot? How is it any better than mine and the fans' anticipation we've had since the movie production began has been better than anything I have ever done before?"
He growled further. Just then, a gentle knock on his door broke his train of thought.
Although he wondered who could be visiting him at this crucial time when he was trying to figure things out, given his personality, he composed himself quickly and invited them in.
The door slowly pushed open, revealing Director Chao. The minute Qi Fuyi laid eyes on his friend, he heaved a deep sigh and immediately ushered him in.
"I think I need your presence if at all, there's nothing you can offer me."
Luckily for him, Chao Jin Ho had gotten wind of everything going on and decided to see how he was fairing.
He lifted a brow quizzically at him, but instead of scolding him for his words, Chao Jin Ho sighed as he took his seat.
"Qi Fuyi, take your seat. You look no different than a frustrated character straight out of your movie." He tapped on his chin lightly, and soon his eyes lit up. "Ah ah, you looked like Xu Xing's character when all her plans failed."
Unable to contain his laughter anymore, Chao Jin Ho burst into a fit of laughter for some time before clearing his throat the second he saw the scowl on Qi Fuyi's face.
"Okay. Let's be serious. What's really going on?"
"They think the movie won't bring a huge profit and want to fund Director Dong's new movie. Who does that?"
"They do."
"I know. It was rhetorical."
"Yeah. Anyway, what would you do?"
