"Oh my goodness!" Peng Xiaoli exclaimed.
Seeing the shocked expression on the young lady's face, Jian Xiaofei rose from her seat and walked over to Peng Xiaoli's desk.
She was about to ask what was wrong when she leaned close to Peng Xiaoli, her gaze centered on the laptop screen in front of her, and her eyes went wide, her jaw-dropping at the sight before her.
"You have got to be kidding me."
Peeling her gaze from her screen, she turned her head to the side, her eyes locking on Jian Xiaofei. "What do we do?"
Jian Xiaofei, who remained focused, reading all the bullshit she saw on the screen, had her hands clenched at her side as she ignored Peng Xiaoli's words.
Her blood boiled inside of her, her stomach tightening with every passing second.
"How could they?" she released the deep breath she had no idea she'd been holding in. "How dare they?!"
Peng Xiaoli jolted from her seat at Jian Xiaofei's outburst. "Xiaofei."
"I… I would have said we should place a call to Boss, but she needs some time off from all this drama given how she is managing her work now."
"I—I." Peng Xiaoli heaved a deep sigh. "I know."
She settled back on her seat, her fingers immediately going to work on her laptop keyboard.
"What are you doing?" Jian Xiaofei asked after some time when she noticed the young lady was opening her email.
"I need to get in touch with a friend. I need all this scandalous news taken down."
"Okay. I will call Mr. Liu."
Just as Jian Xiaofei straightened her back and was about to leave, Peng Xiaoli caught her wrist, stopping her momentarily.
"I heard he is with Ms. Kai."
"But he'll be the best person to handle this issue," Jian Xiaofei tried to reason
"I know, but we can contact her friends, Mr. Xie and Mr. Gu." Jian Xiaofei contemplated for a moment, putting the whole situation on a scale in her mind.
Ever since she came to the company, she had been charged by Liu Xueyi to keep an eye on Andromeda and report to him whenever Andromeda had any pending issues.
But here she was, asked by Peng Xiaoli not to disturb Andromeda or Liu Xueyi and seek help from Liu Xueyi's rival.
"Please. If he gets too busy with work, she'll suspect. We need to handle this on our own," Peng Xiaoli said convincingly. Even at that, Jian Xiaofei was sceptical. "Please, for her."
"I… But this involves her past. And Mr. Liu helped."
"Exactly!"

The door to the office was pushed open and standing by the doorway was Xu Fang with a nervous expression on his face.
The way his brows furrowed and his jaw tightened while his chest rose and fell as he stormed into the office made Peng Xiaoli and Jian Xiaofei scared for a bit.
It was obvious something was happening and that was related to the phone he held in his left hand.
"Please tell me either of you can gain access to Andromeda."
Both Peng Xiaoli and Jian Xiaofei exchanged glances before fixing their gaze back on him, shaking their heads.
"Shit!"
Without another second to waste, Xu Fang turned on his heels, heading for the door, when Jian Xiaofei called out to him, making him stop.
"Sir, please wait!"
"Yes?"
"You are looking for Ms. Kai, why?" She noticed Xu Fang hesitating and pushed further. "If I am correct, I am thinking it is about the scandal we just saw."
She gave a moment's pause, and when Xu Fang turned his head to the side, Jian Xiaofei attacked the matter again.
"We are looking for Ms. Kai too."
Xu Fang sighed and turned around to face them. "I know where she is or where she is not. However, I hoped you two would have something more tangible about their whereabouts."
Xu Fang's eyes glanced at the two ladies, who stared at each other once more, then back to him.
"Didn't she mention anything to you?" Peng Xiaoli shook her head. "Anything at all would be useful.
Peng Xiaoli's shoulders dropped. "No. Other than stepping out with Mr. Liu, nothing. She asked not to be disturbed."
"Damn those two."
"They didn't tell you either? Jian Xiaofei inquired, hoping to get some answers from him.
"They didn't. This is a serious mess. And although I have contacted Tang Yan, Rong Bolin, and Chu Fengjin to take care of the issue, I also need to find them. Andromeda is attacked big time."
Hearing this, Jian Xiaofei's face fell as she slouched. She was really looking forward to Andromeda having a good time. "Why is it now that she…"
"Because that is what her opponent needs. Her outing with Liu Xueyi is being exploited. Now I need to find out by whom and why."
Jian Xiaofei whipped her head in the direction Peng Xiaoli stood. "Why? I have a guess Fang Qian Qian has something to do with it."
"You do?" Xu Fang questioned sharply, his unbelieving eyes staring at the young lady. "How dare she?"
Peng Xiaoli nodded, rising to her feet and walking over to where they stood. "My guess is... for the fame."

Andromeda and Liu Xueyi lay in each other's embrace, basking in the afterglow of their time together. Their relaxed conversation filled the room, punctuated by soft laughter, and shared naughty secrets.
As dusk settled in, Liu Xueyi reached for his phone, his fingers grazing the device, intending to make a call.
"Someone is eager to get an escape from a nice time together," Andromeda mused, battling her eyelashes at him.
"You can't blame me. It's been several hours since we went into full hiding. I'm just curious and I also need to ask my driver to do something for me."
"Alright. No need to be so serious," she teased, going ahead to poke at his abs. Taking things further and ignoring what he did on his phone, Andromeda moved her lips closer to his abs, placing soft kisses on his muscles.
He tensed. He was surprised by her actions.
"Don't tense so much," Andromeda corrected. "Go on put on your phone."
It took some seconds before Liu Xueyi's mind calmed down and did what needed to be done. As soon as he did that, though, before he could dial, a series of notifications lit up his screen, interrupting their tranquility.
Andromeda's soft chuckle rippled through the room, a playful tease about his perpetual connection to work even in their most intimate moments.
But her mirth dissolved into concern when she did not get any daunting remark or a follow-up tease from him.
She squeezed her brows, her concern growing by the second as she lifted her head to stare into his eyes, only to witness the sudden transformation in his demeanour. the warmth in his eyes, his smile vanished, giving way to a chilling intensity that sent a ripple of unease down her spine.
"Xueyi, what's wrong?" Andromeda's voice quivered with worry; her gaze fixed on him as his grip on the phone tightened, his expression turning inscrutable.
"Honey?" Her soft words felt like a jolt to his senses and the next thing he did, turning to face her, Liu Xueyi's gaze bore into her, his eyes dark, filled with danger and his hold on the phone tightening ominously.
Without a response, Liu Xueyi abruptly rose from the bed, leaving Andromeda bewildered and unsettled.
"Hon?" Andromeda's voice trembled as she watched him leave the room, a foreboding silence lingering in his wake.
