Chapter 497 Dilemma

**************

CHAPTER 497

As the director's voice echoed through the set, Andromeda's attention was drawn to the man who had just stepped onto the stage. Director Qi's authoritative presence demanded everyone's focus.

However, her curiosity about his identity was interrupted when Liu Xueyi's voice rang out.

"Yes, Director Qi."

"Yes, Director?"

Andromeda watched in a mix of confusion and fascination as Liu Xueyi moved purposefully toward Director Qi, seemingly acquainted with him. The realization hit her like a bolt of lightning.

This was the same man she had seen Liu Xueyi conversing with when she had first arrived. How had she missed this crucial connection?

More importantly, he was the man whose eyes remained glued to her person during the new year's party. Who could have known he was the Director in charge of the new movie?

It made her wonder what his goals were.

Lost in her thoughts and still coming to terms with the shock, Andromeda was unprepared for what happened next.

Immediately shooting for the next scene began and all characters took their respective position.

The scene was about to begin, and just as the third female lead, Yu Weilan, made her appearance, disaster struck.

Yu Weilan, in her elegant costume, was supposed to make a grand entrance. However, fate had a different plan in mind.

As she stepped onto the stage, her heel caught on the edge of her gown, sending her tumbling to the ground with a painful cry.

The entire set fell into a moment of stunned silence, followed by gasps and murmurs from the crew.

Andromeda's eyes widened, and she felt a pang of sympathy for the fallen actress.

She knew firsthand how embarrassing such incidents could be on a set filled with professionals.

But this was more than just an embarrassing moment; Yu Weilan had dislocated her ankle in the fall, and the pain was evident on her face.

Panic ensued as the crew rushed to help Yu Weilan. She was gingerly lifted from the floor, wincing in pain. The director quickly made the call to send her to the hospital in an ambulance.

"Quickly, please. She needs medical attention. Hurry and take her off theset. Get some ice someone and the first aid kit," he demanded.

Immediately several of the crew members got to work, following the Director's instructions. It was clear that her injuries required immediate medical attention.

Several minutes passed and Yu Weilan was already at the hospital receiving treatment.

While he could have continued the scene, scraping out her part first, he did not want to do that.

Qi Fuyi wanted a situation where each crew member began the production in good health. He wasn't so heartless to push through with things as though Yu Weilan's life did not matter.

When he finally got a call from the hospital, his fast-beating heart took some rest as he answered the call.

By the time Director Qi received the news about Yu Weilan's condition, it was clear that she would need some time to recover.

"Hello, Manager Song, yes. How is she?"

"She is okay now and sleeping thanks to the meds she was given."

"And her leg?"

"The doctor advised her to stay off the set for a month at least. To avoid further strain on that leg else things become worse and she cannot…"

'You do not have to say it," Qi Fuyi interjected. "I understand. I won't have anyone suffer that fate. Thanks, Manager Song. I shall visit her when we finish the shoot today," he informed him.

A soft sigh escaped Manager Song's lips. The same tension could be said to have enveloped Qi Fuyi but no matter what, he did not wish to have this setback.

"What are you going to do now? Are you going to delay production?"

"I will not delay production but for now, I will cut down on her scenes. Thankfully she isn't the main female lead, else, it would be hard finding a worthy replacement."

"I see."

"Yes. I am working on a deadline. You know how things are."

"I understand. I will inform Yu Weilan of the change."

"No. Do not. I will do so myself when I visit."

"As you wish, Director."

The call ended with a deep sigh from both parties.

The shooting schedule was in jeopardy, and they needed to find a replacement quickly. Stuck in his dilemma, he scanned the set, searching for a solution to their predicament.

He had some extra characters but this role was crucial in its own sense.

He needed someone who could play both roles, that of a good bullied and suffering girl and that of a strong-willed person, considering the twin role she would be playing at different times, acting as a spy.

As Andromeda and Liu Xueyi continued their small talk, their laughter resonating through the set, Andromeda's playful spirit began to take over.

She found herself re-enacting a few scenes from the movie they were shooting, mimicking the expressions and gestures of the actors just to liven things up for Liu Xueyi who was bothered about the shooting and his work.

No doubt if there was a delay, it would mean taking another day of his work time to be here. That alone made him sour.

Amused by Andromeda's antics, Liu Xueyi couldn't help but be drawn into the playful atmosphere she was creating.

He watched her with an indulgent smile, his eyes filled with adoration. It was moments like these that reminded him of the lightness and joy she brought into his life.

Unbeknownst to Andromeda, Director Qi Fuyi had entered the stage area, his eyes scanning the crowd as he looked for Liu Xueyi.

He had a pressing issue to discuss with his lead actor regarding the scene they were about to shoot. However, as his gaze swept over the stage, something unexpected caught his attention.

It was at this crucial moment that his eyes narrowed as they fell on Andromeda, who was still standing on the edge of the set, virtually acting out a part of the scene that had just been shot.

Her eyes were filled with a mixture of surprise, concern, and curiosity.
