The doors of the black jeep pushed open slowly as a leg stepped out followed by the body of its owner.
Thud!
Shutting the doors behind him, he lifted his eyes, letting them glance around the small mansion before coming to settle at the small building by the side.
His chest rose and fell with the deep breath he took as he exhaled sharply.
Reaching up, he shoved his neck-length black hair back away from his face and blew out a mouthful of air.
With everything going at its pace, Liu Xueyi knew it was time to push for Liu Corporation's businesses. Else, those out to drop them would do so on a large scale.
If there was one rule he knew of, the higher you rise, the more your enemies amass. Judging from the tone of his father's text message, he could tell something was happening.
Walking towards the side of the big compound, he made his way along the normal route until he found himself in his father's cube.
At once the men in suits guarding his father welcomed him with a bow. Returning their greetings, he walked over to where the Chairman of Liu Corporation was.
"Father, good afternoon."
"Sit."
Those were the only words Liu Jinchen had to say to him.
The stern looks in his eyes told Liu Xueyi someone had done something to anger his father.
Irrespective, all he could do was wait for the perfect opportunity to ask the question. He needed to be sure he would not say anything that would trigger the worst in him.
"I got your message concerning the final corrections to the project plans," he began. "What happened?"
"I got intel. Those crazy bastards are looking for a way to pour dirt on us and have us fall."
He wasted no time in dishing everything out to Liu Xueyi. "Knowing this now, how do you plan to proceed?"
Liu Xueyi took a long pause and accessed the situation properly before giving his solution.
"If they want to come, let them come. I simply need to block every angle for such to happen. Not only that, we would hasten the work process a bit and ensure the committee approves and leaves the right to the bidding proposal to us."
"Hmm. They wish to contend it after ruining us and find dirt on our stars to cause trouble for the industry," Liu Jinchen informed his son.
"Not just that, I am sure once they attack the Entertainment industry and it is a success, they would do the same for Starlight Apparel. I can't have all these things happening. Those are my two most prominent businesses."
"The tech company under us has begun to rise. Not just that, during this vacation, Andromeda and I met with Ye Cheng, CEO and Chairman of Dream Star Corporation. He plans on partnering with us and also expanding business here to our city."
"Ye Cheng?" Liu Jinchen asked in disbelief.
Even though they were well to do amongst the rich folks, Ye Cheng was on top of the food chains and a businessman everyone wanted to do business with.
"Yes. Andromeda was the one who clicked with his wife, Li Jing and we met them as well as his close business associates. Tang Zixin was there as well," Liu Xueyi explained.
The mere mention of Andromeda being the one who instigated this newfound closeness without Liu Xueyi having to make an appointment to meet him, made Liu Jinchen happy beyond words.
"She is having more value to the Liu family than I thought," Liu Jinchen enunciated, ignoring the look on Liu Xueyi's face.
Although he was happy giving Andromeda the credit, he wasn't happy his father was indirectly making his marriage and love life look like a business deal with profits.
'I wonder how mother survived all this while? Did he still consider her a business deal? Old man. Better change this new mindset you have picked up.'
Recalling the foul mood he met his father in a while ago he refrained from taking it up with him and deferred it to a later time.
Worse he got his mother on his side to tame the old fox.
"Alright. Now that there is a bit of a plan, ensure those souls keep the stars in check. I won't have anyone ruining me."
"Understood, father."

His eyes glanced at the caller first before taking the call.
With his head full on how to dig into those scoundrels' company and expose the dirty secrets surrounding them, he did not wish to take any call.
On seeing the caller, however, he took it.
It was unusual for Hong Chaoxiang to call him out of the blue without having something important to relay.
"Chaoxiang, did the sky fall on your roof today?" Liu Xueyi wondered out loud.
"Hahhaa, funny. What are you indirectly trying to say, Xueyi?"
"Exactly what it meant. You rarely put a call across to me."

"Good and Andromeda?"
"She's fine. How are you and what are you up to?"
"All good too. Say, I came to Chef's Eatery and I happened to overhear Chairman Mum's son on a call with a certain someone."
"Alright, what are the details of this supposed conversation?"
A cheeky grin plastered on Hong Chaoxiang's lips as he got ready to reveal a certain secret to him.
"From the look of things, I see that someone is digging hard to make an appointment with you."
His gaze darkened, exuding a suspicious and dangerous aura all of a sudden.
