CHAPTER 36

His laughter continued for another minute and then suddenly died down.

Furrowing his brows deeper, he narrowed his eyes at Lee Cho. "Wait, I still have the termination of contract problem with her lawyer."

"Easy peasy. Let me guess, she was the one you asked me to get that strong drug for that night right?" Wu Bai nodded in confirmation.

"Good. So you got the tape you wanted that night right?"

"How did you...?" he pursed, his skimming eyes washed down on his friend. "Who told you I taped her?"

"My guess and your answer clarified. You see she was already yours. It was just a matter of hours and she would have been yours to bang for life but no you got the **** drug. It only proved to me that you were planning something bad and I could prove it up now that you reminded me of her use to you."

"I see... Anyways, what about the tape?" He asked, turning their attention to the subject matter.

"Simple. You made that for something, when were you planning on using it? Next year?" He threw his hands in the air. "You know sometimes I cannot understand you, Wu Bai. Such a rare gem is about to slip through your fingers and you are not acting?"

"Hey calm down. I planned on using that for a time when she would least expect, to keep her on a leash."

"I think that time is now," Lee Cho announced.

"Probably. Quick, first, let me hear your suggestions. Then I can best plan out something more demanding and even grander. Another way out."

"Okay, it is like this."

After waiting for his call and he got nothing, her lawyer was about to make his move and sort things out when a call came through.

He peeled his gaze from the file in his hands he was going through to check the caller.

"Hmm, Andromeda. Just what I needed." Touching the call I'm, he placed it on speaker.

"Hello, good afternoon Miss Kai."

"Good afternoon, Mr. Chang."

"How are you today?"

"Same as always and you?"

"Always busy. To what do I owe this pleasure? This isn't like you calling by this time..."

She inhaled deeply, her brows fluttering open and close by the second."I guess I was just curious. What is the status report on Wu Bai? Has he signed?"

"No. He still insists on you two coming to a consensus. I called me about two hours back."

"Lawyer Chang, you should know my stand by now. I want nothing to do with that two-faced lying and cheating scum. I want a clean break," she emphasized.

"I know. I told him that. Do not wordy. In a couple of minutes, his time would be up and I would take the next measures. Normally, he violated your contract. Never once did he allow you to get credit for your work, claiming it was for the company's advantage. Not only that he..."

"I know what he did. I do not care what you do to him but please make it happen. He and I are done. I would also need the restraining order. That man is a psychopath."

"Got it. Everything you need would be arranged. You do not have to worry much. For now, focus on your health and anything. Who knows we might take this to court."

"Alright. Let me know if anything happens, Lawyer Chang. I would be out of your hair now."

"Thank you for believing in me, Miss Kai. Do have a lovely day."

The call went dead right after. Andromeda was too tired to think more on the issue.

She did not know why she had allowed this to affect her so much but a part of her felt that if she did not break off with him, he would find reasons to keep pestering her.

She reached up and covered her face with both hands, letting them slide off her face slowly as she inhaled deeply.

"Oh, Andromeda. Andromeda." She leaned back against her office chair, crossed her legs, and rocked the chair slowly to a steady rhythm. Her gaze swept through the office. It was bigger than she had expected and different from the small office she had at her previous company.

'Well, one step in. Time to start creating those designs for the clothing line. And to recruit new designers. This would be one heck of a busy month.'

****

Not up to two minutes since his last call with Andromeda then his phone screen lit up on his desk.

"Hmm, I wonder what his excuse would be now," Lawyer Chang muttered to himself before answering the call.

"Have you thought about your next decision?" He went straight to the point, no beating around the bush.

"I like your person. You are so annoying but capable," Wu Bai commented.

"Thank you. I would take that as a compliment. Now if you are calling for what I think you are, then let us move to the matter at hand. If not, I have more important things to do."

"Hold your horses, Lawyer. I am a top businessman in the city. You should accord me with great respect," Wu Bai silently warned.

"Mr. Wu, hit the nail on the head else I would not hesitate to..."

"Fine I would give in," he cut in saying.

"What?" He sat up in his seat and placed the phone on his left ear.

"Hello, Lawyer Chang. Lawyer... Hey you, are you there?"

Not wasting another second, he, reached into his drawer and picked out a small recorder, and started it.

"Hello?"

"Yes, yes... I am sorry Mr... Wu. The line wasn't clear. Umm please can you repeat what you said. I am afraid I did not hear you."

"Fine. I said I would give in to her demands. I would sign and terminate the contract with Miss Andromeda Kai."

"Thank you. I would process everything and have a copy sent to you."

"Okay." He ended the call and dropped his phone by his side as his gaze trailed off into the distance. "Andromeda, for this, you will pay. Just you wait."
