CHAPTER 359 – Halloween Party
No one had expected Andromeda to bow her head before them. That singular move spelt her sincere apology and acceptance even though her words sounded harsh.
"My apologies if my words were harsh. I gave the same energy I received and perhaps that may have been wrong. Forgive me."
"It is I who should apologize. Forgive me too," Li Jing followed suit and lowered her head.
Yin Lifen apologized as well. Never had they seen someone like Andromeda.
Even though she was not entirely in the wrong she apologized, something some ladies of high standing won't do due to pride.
"I tend to like your personality myself," Ye Cheng praised Andromeda when she lifted her head and the others did as well.
"I told you. It is something worth admiring," Aiden admitted.
"I see so much has been said about me in my absence," Andromeda remarked.
"Fear not. It wasn't something bad. I did hear about your trial case recently as well. So, I have seen things prior to our meeting."
"Interesting," Liu Xueyi chimed in. It was hard not to, not when your girlfriend was the centre of attraction.
Immediately, his protective instincts kicked in and he got a little bit jealous.
Of course, Andromeda knew this seeing as his hold on her waist tightened.
She giggled softly, more to Liu Xueyi's action than to whatever was being said.
He was jealous no doubt.
"By the way, if I am not mistaken, you were the couple that got one of my employees rushed to the hospital, right?" Liu Xueyi questioned.
Several heads instantly snapped in their direction as they looked up in shock, mouths hung agape.
"Busted," Andromeda muttered before looking away shyly.
Unlike her, Liu Xueyi chuckled away at the awkward situation.
They had hoped no one would see or recognize them considering it was a dark place but who would have thought, the almighty CEO of Dream Star Corporation witnessed it all?
"Do not be shy. I love the strength."
"It was nothing really," Andromeda said, shaking her head as she waved her hands in front of her face.
"Yet he was unconscious. I wonder what would have happened if you intentionally did something."
"Which is why every girl should be careful. My love is a one in a million rare gem," Liu Xueyi countered for her.
"Hahhaa, true, true. My Li Jing too, she is a rare gem. In fact, the rarest of them all," Ye Cheng informed them.
"Just like I said," Yin Lifen chimed in.
Not wanting to bicker with her, Andromeda rolled her eyes at the lady whose face suddenly lit up now that she found a supporter.
"Anyways, we have the party coming up in about two hours. I guess we can get to know each other over a few drinks and…"
"Huh, you may be men and do not need the time but we are ladies, we need the time," Li Jing corrected.
"Fine. My bad," Ye Cheng apologized. "See you all at the Halloween party. I just cannot wait to see what your costumes would be," Ye Cheng informed them.
"Same."
After that everyone left for their respective hotels and houses.
While Andromeda had so much to say, Liu Xueyi was preoccupied with the thoughts of what happened before they ventured into the haunted house.
They had enough time to get a go if they so much desired but here she was behaving as though nothing intimate had happened between them.
He felt betrayed by her actions but he dared not utter any word concerning it. This was not the time.
Before long, it was time for the party and they were set for the evening. The car ordered was ready and waiting to take them to the event.
By the time they arrived in the big halls, Andromeda's eyes widened, taking in the sight before her.
Several costumes from various film characters, cartoons and anime were fully displayed by everyone.
It did not take long for them to find the loud-mouthed troublesome Yin Lifen and when they did, Andromeda could not say she was not impressed by her get-up.
Dressed in the rich shade of rich pink, Yin Lifen donned the beautiful dress of princess Aurora—sleeping beauty.
"Nice one," Andromeda praised with her eyes fixed on the well-made crown sitting atop her head.
"You on the other hand should be deserving of such praise. I love your outfit," Yin Lifen praised.
"I told her so," Liu Xueyi added.
At the same time, the lovely duo walked up to them with smiles on their faces.
"The mother of dragon—Daenerys Targaryen," Li Jing announced as she placed both hands in front of her stomach. "Truly wonderful, even with the crown."
"Thank you," Andromeda accepted the praise.
She was dressed in a long black tunic having fitted sleeves, a black cape at her back and matching black booths and had her hair exactly the same as Daenerys Targaryen.
On the other hand, Li Jing wore a completely magnificent costume, leaving no stone untouched by how crafty she was in her dress.
"Maleficent."
"Magnificent," Andromeda praised, stealing the spotlight from Liu Xueyi."
"Why thank you," Li Jing responded with a smile of her own as the ladies began chatting, leaving the men alone.
"Nice one. And you are?" Ye Cheng asked.
"Do not tell me you cannot guess?" Liu Xueyi questioned. "Man, I am Legolas from Lord of the rings."
"Legolas?" Ye Cheng questioned letting his disbelief show.
"Yes. I ditched the blonde hair just to be natural," Liu Xueyi explained and patted his bow.
"Yes, very natural."
"And you? Wait, let me guess, hehe, you are Aquaman butwhat happened to your trident and all the other outfit?" Liu Xueyi asked, holding in his laughter.
"Somewhere. I would be fully dressed when it is time for my speech."
"And Aiden here betrayed his princess. You are not Phillip for your aurora but you are superman. Tsk."
"It's a free world man. I love superman," Aiden shrugged and looked at the ladies.
"Sure. anyways, a nice party you got here, Ye Cheng. I must say, you out did yourself," Liu Xueyi complemented.
"Good. While we get to know each other, we can discuss one or two businesses. I would love to invade your city."
"Anytime."
