Getting more furious, he leaned down and picked up the phone. Answering the call he half yelled, "Hello!"
"Mr. Wu, I have called thrice and you refused to answer my call. Do not forget that ignoring my calls is not the solution and it would not make me go away."
"What do you want from me? I told you to only see me or call when you have decided to come to a consensus."
"My client wants a clean break and I as her lawyer would give it to her. She does not want anything to do with your company. Please do sign before we take it further. She was under duress and intimidated. Above all, there was bad conduct, and you never her credit to her work."
"Arrant nonsense!" Wu Bai thundered. "How dare she make such a remark?" He breathed heavily, raking his brain quickly to think of ways to fix it.
"If she is so incomprehensible it is not my fault. What have I not done? We love each other dearly. We were going to get married but what do I get? She stood me up and know is terminating a contract with me... I should sue her too. Her absence is costing my company money. How can she make up for that?"
"Mr. Wu, like I said before, she wants nothing to do with your company. If you wish to sue my client, please go ahead. Just know that when we get to court, be prepared to pay for damages."
"She should be ready to do the same thing as well. She thinks I do not know she is cheating on me and is looking for a way to escape quickly? We would see in court."
"Watch your words, Mr. Wu, defamation of another type of crime lest you might have forgotten. This is your last straw. I would give you two hours to make your decision. After that, it is as you would see."
Beep! Beep!
"Hello...? Shit! Argghh! Damn it!" he threw the phone on the couch in his office as he reached up to comb through his hair.
"How did things get like this? I was the one who was to use her and not her running so early. I need a plan. God, I need a plan."
He began to pace with both hands behind him as his mind thought of several possibilities to make this whole thing work.
An hour passed and he still could not find how to latch onto her. His eyes dropped close as he fell on his couch in pure exhaustion.
Knock! Knock!
He proved his eyes open and sat up straight, waiting for the person to come in.
His eyes narrowed, causing a deep frown at the center of his brows. "Where are..." His voice trailed off the moment his eyes locked on Wu Bai. "Ah, there you are," he announced.
"Hey, Lee Cho."
"Hmm, what is with the weird greeting, bro?" Lee Cho asked and walked up to where he was.
"Nothing just stressed out."
"I see. Care to share?" He took a seat close to his friend and waited, leaning his head on his arm. "I am waiting."
"It is Andromeda."
"So? What about her?"
"She keeps asking for the termination of the contract."
"Then give her," he said bluntly.
"Are you mad?" Wu Bai turned to face him, watching as he shrugged off like it did not matter. "How can you say that? Do you know the kind of dilemma I am facing currently?"
"No, and I would not know unless you fill me in. If she wants to leave, then, please let her. After all, she is just some bloody worker."
Pow!
Wu Bai wasted no time in knocking some sense into his head with that slap.
"Ouch! What was that for?" Lee Cho asked scratching the back of his head?
"What do you think?" We questioned.
Feeling wronged, Lee Cho pouted at him."Hmm, I cannot believe you would hit me because of some tramp worker of yours."
"And I would hit you again if I must dimwit. Do you even know who I am talking about?"
"Nope. I do not care."
"You should because the jobs I give you, I get money to pay you much because of how well my company is doing and all of this is thanks to her."
His face turned serious and he scooted closer to Wu Bai. "You mean it?" He did not get an answer but he could tell from the look in Wu Bai's eyes that he was serious. "Oh my goodness. Who is she?"
"My fiance, Andromeda Kai."
"What! You mean... The woman who stood you up on your wedding day! That same Andromeda?"
"Yes. The very same Andromeda. With her talents, I cannot lose her. She is my company's hidden star."
"Umm wait. Don't you mean your ex-fiance?"
"She would be mine. I would get her back."
"Calm down bro. I think she might have left because you kept her hidden and used her," Lee Cho explained.
"I had my reasons. I did not want any other company, my rivals to be precise to come to steal her from me."
"So you hid her talent and made that Beatrice take the glory? What did you even see in her? Compared to Andromeda she..."
"One more word and I would knock the life out of you," Wu Bai threatened. The killing intent in those eyes of his told Lee not to cross the line.
"Fine. I am sorry but all I can say is either you give in to bed demands of making her look bad for ditching you. Then she would feel embarrassed when no one wants her and she comes running back to you."
His lips remained parked for some seconds and after sometime he burst into hysterical laughter. "Boy you are a genius, hahaha..."
