CHAPTER 31
By the following day, she got to the office as usual and resumed her work for her intern position.
Judging from the look on the other ladies' faces, they weren't pleased with her.
Not giving her a chance, they pounced on her, raining insults and complaints on her head about things she did and did not do properly.
Once more, she had a very productive day running errands and fixing up the work for those lazy asses.
At the end of the day, Andromeda relaxed against her chair, her leg crossed and head resting against her left hand on her desk.
Just like the previous day, they had more to discuss concerning the new top designer Liu Xueyi hired and how she carried herself too high that she did not come associate with them.
Daily, new gossip rolled out from their mouth but never did she see a new design produced.
It was like the only useful thing they did was carry out messages, arrange files, design a few not-so-outstanding clothes and lazy around.
In the end, it was obvious who and they were was...
Thieves who did not do their work but perched on others. Parasites and worms needed to be dugout.
One thing was sure, she was glad this mental torture was going to be over. Back then at Wu Bai's company, she had her fair share of the way and manner they spoke about her, spreading so many rumours among the workers.
Now that she had a clean break with Wu Bai and the company, she could see where it stemmed from. It most definitely was Beatrice who had instigated it.
Just like the previous day, she was not so keen on rushing home and needed to relax. However, when she saw the silhouetted of someone approaching her, her gaze dropped lazily as she made the first move.
"Ahh…" her lips parted, letting out a long yawn while covering her mouth with the back of her palm.
The young man who was coming to her rescue stopped briefly. His gaze remained fixed on her, taking his time to study her.
Sensing his hesitation, Andromeda felt she had successfully gotten him to retreat and then she leaned back against her chair once more, dropping her hands lazily at her side.
His lips tugged upwards, revealing a cute smile as he strode over to her table. "Hello, Ms Chao."
"Hi."
"I see you have been stressed once more."
"Sadly but, it is all part of the learning process." She returned his smile, forcing her eyes to act it as well.
"Umm, about yesterday." Her half-closed eyelids shut open instantly as she sprang up, sitting straight.
"Yesterday," she sniffed. "Huh, what about yesterday?" She flashed him a toothed smile as she awaited the next words that would fall out of his mouth. It could be dangerous and at the same time, not so dangerous.
"Umm, with the Vice CEO. You do not have to worry, I won't tell, else those girls would make your life a nursing hell."
"Nursing?"
"Well, I did not want to say living, seeing as you are alive. They would nurse you into hell. I know what I am saying," Cao Yan explained.
"It is alright. I understand your point of view. After all," she sized him properly, narrowing her eyes a bit as her lips pulled t the side in a somewhat cautious manner. "You seem like you have witnessed one."
Letting out a small chuckle, he shook his head at her. "There was a young designer who piqued the interest of one of the big bosses."
"Liu Xueyi?"
"No. I said one of them, I never specified who and it isn't the Vice CEO either. However, their affection was mutual but the vipers in this office made her suffer and called her names, embarrassed her."
"Wait, if she had a thing with him, why didn't he intervene?"
He rolled his eyes a bit and folded his hands in front of his chest. "The goody two shoe girl, she did not want to get him involved to prevent their words from being true that she came here by sleeping with him."
"I see. Anyways, there is nothing going on between your vice and me. He happened to pass through my route."
"No need to explain to me. It is your private life. You are free to go out with whomever you chose. I just wanted to assure you I am not going to be one of those who make your life a living hell."
"No longer nursing?" She giggled at him and stood up. "Thanks but I need to get home now. An early rest is what I need."
"Sure. I still have some unfinished projects to take care of. See you tomorrow."
Her cheeks puffed up, narrowing her eyes a little as she picked up her handbag. 'Yeah, that is if we get to see this way, tomorrow Cao Yan. It was a nice talk with you though.' Andromeda mentally commented.
"Goodnight."
"Bye."
Sensing that both Liu Xueyi and Xu Fang may want to pull another stunt like the previous day, Andromeda ordered a cab quickly and took off.
The last thing she wanted was another repetition and the headache that followed.

Her mouth widened once more, letting out a strained yawn. This was the umpteenth time she was yawing that day. It was like her body was calling her to sleep.
Also, it proved to her how these few days had been tested on her. Ever since her wedding planning started, she had been mega stressed like this and now… Her body was already giving her signs.
'Hmm, I should probably start seeking an investigator to find Miss Fong Su but heaven knows my brain cannot even function in this state. A nice nap may do the trick.'
No sooner had the thoughts left her mind than her phone buzzed nonstop.
'Oh come on! Who is the devil that thought of me today?' She thought within her.
Her eyes rolled in their sockets while letting out a sigh. She reached up to scratch her head before picking up her phone with her left hand to check the caller.
Her eyes flew open when she saw the name and instantly she became more composed and professional. "Hello, Liu Xueyi, to what do I owe the pleasure?"
