"Good day, Mr Liu, Lawyer Tang and Miss Kai."
"Lawyer Chang. Welcome, please come in," Andromeda ushered.
"Thanks." Taking closer steps in, he came to a stop in front of Andromeda and Tang Yan while his full attention went straight to the big boss.
"My name is, Chang Yuxuan. Nice to meet you."
"Good afternoon, Lawyer Chang Yuxuan. Pleasure meeting you."
Introducing himself, Liu Xueyi extended his hand for a handshake and when Lawyer Chang took his hand, his lips pulled to the side, revealing a good smirk.
"Please, shall we all move to the other side of the office? That way, we can be more relaxed and go over everything that needs to be done."
"Sure," they chorused and stood up after Liu Xueyi.
"I am sure, this is the first and final meeting before the trial, right?"
"Yes, and if need be, there shall be another but if all is put in place well, then we can be sure Divine Pearl would not escape the punishment it would get."
"Good," Liu Xueyi stated as he straightened his. "Let's go then."
~Hours Later~
Having met to set everything needed in place, Andromeda also presented them with the links and all gotten from Xie Tian and Gu Jun after hacking Wu Bai's laptop and phone.
At first, presenting the files to them, Lawyer Chang reminded Andromeda that the means used in getting this evidence was illegal and would be frowned upon by the court.
They were left with no choice, they had to rule that out.
As though that was not enough, the fact that her designs have been stolen and converted by Beatrice Zhang as hers, during the period of her working with them, could not be used against them as well.
The reason being that going through the contract she signed with Divine Pearl, it was hidden in the long documents that the company had the right to do anything it wanted with her designs, including crediting another.
By the time Andromeda found out about this, her anger boiled within her. Not even Liu Xueyi could get her to calm down.
It wasn't until she gave her explanation of how she had trusted Wu Bai that when he demanded she signed the contract, stating that he drafted the contract and she needed not read it, that they understood her rage.
Way back then she had been hurt by how her father honoured her mother's memory and she felt alone and down.
Meeting and falling in love with Wu Bai had been one of the most breathtaking moments in her life, or so she thought. Never would she have thought he was a big viper waiting to strike.
**Flashback**
Seated in the big office of the CEO of Divine Pearl, Andromeda crossed her legs in front of her as she waited for Wu Bai.
Soon enough, the door pushed open as he briskly walked in with a file in his hands. The moment he settled down in his seat, Andromeda straightened her back with both hands placed on her thigh in a professional manner.
"Yes, Andromeda, relax," he said while studying her. "No need to be tense here. I already promised you. You have talent and are the kind of person our company needs. You would get the job."
"Truly?"
"Yes. And just like I had said, all you need to do is sign this contract. Append your signatures and I can deliver it to the HR department and have everything processed quickly for you."
"Oh my God!" Her eyes blinked back the tears that threatened to fall as she stared at him with her mouth open wide.
"You mean…."
"Yes. Once you do your part, the job offer is yours, baby girl."
Saying that he picked up the file on his table and presented it to her. A light laugh fell off her lips as she stared at the file in disbelief.
"It is yours, Miss Kai. The job is yours."
With trembling hands, Andromeda took the file from his hands and opened it. Quickly she snapped her head back to look at his face and smiled. "Umm, can I take this hope to read through?"
"No need. Honestly, the process for hiring a worker in this company, seeing as we are one of the best fashion companies, is high and taxing. I just used my position to get all of these processed for you."
Her lips formed an 'O' as realization dawned on her.
"It would be nice if you signed it out and I can give it to them now. By tomorrow you can resume work. After this time, I won't have time to pursue this, to be honest. We are busy preparing for our fashion show."
"Okay. Okay. Just show me where to sign and I will do it. I am sorry and thankful for the help."
"Sure. Sorry for rushing you as well, but you can trust me. After all, I drafted this as well with the lawyers. You have nothing to be worried about. I've got you."
"All right. You can run by the details for me then."
His cheeks puffed up as a triumphant smile spread across his face, spilling into his eyes. "Definitely. Sure."
**Flashback Ends**
"I feel like a fool."
"Andy."
"No. I was too trusting and it cost me 5 years of hard work and letting someone else enjoy it."
"I am sorry and because of his cunny ways, he would get away with this in court but I would make him pay for it."
"I am afraid to say, Mr. Liu that," Lawyer Chang began when Tang Yan held up his palm to cut in.
"I am sorry too, but I believe whatever my client would do wouldn't be illegal. There are more legal ways to may Wu Bai pay. Besides, he drugged her a night before their wedding for blackmail."
"But we cannot be so sure he did that."
"Sure?" Liu Xueyi asked, as his forehead puckered.
"Don't you see? He did something bad to her and I am sure he was afraid of her ever having to find out. That was why he drugged her on their wedding night, hoping to blackmail her with that video should she ever find out about the contract."
