CHAPTER 271
Taking his seat, Andromeda followed Tang Yan and sat on the opposite chair from him.
Just like she had informed them, Andromeda decided to brief both men on the matter at hand while they waited for Lawyer Chang's arrival.
"I see. It should be enough to fight this case but I have got to warn you, there is a reason why they have gone unscathed till now."
"I know. Beatrice would have a strong backing aside from Wu Bai," Andromeda said.
"True. Also, shouldn't this give us an opportunity to know who that person is? Liu Xueyi brought forth.
"Yeah. You are right. But I do not think they would give themselves away just yet."
"Then make this a case for them to remember. Let them pull the strings, create the ropes for them to use," Liu Xueyi explained briefly.
"True that can be. We just need to set the ground for them to make terrible mistakes."
"You caught on. Good," Tang Yan praised as he gave her thumbs up before returning his gaze to Liu Xueyi. "We would be needing their help, you know."
"Sure. Bolin would handle this aspect. He can get us the needed information to fish them out and make them show their cards."
"Perfect then. I would ensure that the judge handling the case would be an incorruptible one. The last thing we want is for them to rule in their favour after all this evidence."
"Then we make all pieces of evidence smooth. I know they would try to bribe the judge though," Andromeda said in a huff.
"Then we create shreds of evidence that won't let that happen and also, why not we make friends with the judge first."
"Hahhaa, Liu Xueyi that is possible but it can also be hard," Tang Yan presented.
"I am not trying to bribe him. I just want to make friends and see what kind of person he would be. Get things sorted out. I need to know."
"Fine. As you wish, Xueyi. Anyways, shouldn't Lawyer Chang be here by now?" Tang Yan asked checking around him.
"He should. I told him to head for this floor and informed Fu Chu Hua about his coming as well."
"Okay. However, the young lady is shaken out of her mind because of what happened," Tang Yan informed.
"As she should be," Liu Xueyi voiced sternly.
"Xueyi, let it go. I had already passed her when your call came in. I was at the door when she tried to call me back but me being stubborn, I felt you gave such other to avoid anyone disturbing us. I never knew…"
He averted his gaze over to Andromeda, letting out a charming smile as he took a quick glance at the beauty that made his friend fall so hard.
"I never knew you had another beautiful business keeping your mind, hands and soul occupied."
"I would forget my earlier promise and just make sure I break your head right now."
"Ah, then I would press charges and thank goodness Lawyer Chang is coming. He would help sue you." Saying that he stuck his tongue out in a daring manner. "Bleh."
"Stop behaving like a kid you twenty-eight years old man."
"Hey, why speak about my age out loud? Now Andromeda is going to think of me as an old man. I am young, Andromeda," Tang Yan pursued.
"I know. I can see. Age did not touch you at all."
"You see. Sigh, at least I have Andromeda to always side with me," Tang Yan rejoiced as he spread both hands to the side and leaned close towards Andromeda.
However, before he got the chance to move close to her, he felt a deep glare being shot in his direction and he halted.
Slowly, Tang Yan turned his head to the side, only to be faced with a deadly Liu Xueyi. The look he gave him sent chills running down the length of his back as the aura around them changed.
Suddenly, it felt like the temperature in the room dropped with each passing second Liu Xueyi's cold gaze remained locked on his friend.
"Take one closer move towards her and I would forget you are my friend and crack your skull."
Gulp!
"Hehhee, relax. Relax," Tang Yan appeased and slowly lowered his hand while taking his body back against his chair.
"Phew! Such a possessive…" The words he wished to say never got to see the light of day as a much denser and cold hair surrounded him.
Swallowing hard once more, Tang Yan lowered his gaze back to his watch. "Now, phew! Where is that, Lawyer Chang?"
By this time, Andromeda could no longer hold in her laughter as much as she tried to contain it. She came undone before both men, bringing a different vibe into the office.
"Nice one. Nice one," Tang Yan praised but unlike last time, he did not dare to look in her direction and peeled his gaze to the wall clock instead.
Anything to not give Liu Xueyi that vibe that he was admiring her.
This was the first time they had seen Liu Xueyi become so protective and possessive. He could not complain now. They all wanted him to have a girlfriend in his life but the latter refused.
Now that he had gotten it, they could not blame him for being this way.
Simply put, this change in him was nice, but that was his mechanism of reacting as a part of him remained scared of having another heartbreak after coming deep into the relationship.
Knock! Knock!
Several pairs of eyes darted in the direction of the door before Liu Xueyi gave his permission for entry.
"Enter."
Pushing the door open slowly, Fu Chu Hua stood by the door and greeted. "Sir, please Lawyer Chang is here to see you."
"Let him in."
"Yes sir."
She dipped her head in and took a couple of steps back, shut the door behind her. Not up to a minute another knock came on the door and the door opened once more.
This time a less scared person stood before the trio as he shut the door behind him and took a few steps into the office.
