CHAPTER 265 - All My Plan
The next week arrived quicker than anyone could presume and with-it different plans needed to kick off.
After all that happened the previous week, Peng Xiaoli started work at Starlight Apparel as Andromeda's assistant once more.
It did not take her long to get fully adjusted to the work. And unlike before Jain Xiaofei was less of a worrying jealous wort than before.
The bonding time they had on Saturday did help both of them a lot.
Walking into Andromeda's office Jian Xiaofei and Peng Xiaoli let out soft laughter at something they had been discussing and finally stopped to greet Andromeda.
"Good afternoon, Miss Kai," they chorused in unison.
"Good afternoon. Did you get me the documents containing the new applications?" Andromeda questioned, fixing her gaze on Jian Xiaofei.
"Yes. I had them forward it to your email and it is also on your flash drive."
"Thank you," Andromeda said and reached out her hand expectantly.
Getting the cue, Jian Xiaofei stepped forward and handed over the flash drive to her.
"Umm, I have something to ask Miss Kai," Peng Xiaoli said while lifting her finger as though she was in class.
"Sure. I am all ears."
"Seeing as Starlight Apparel is having more applications for a chance to be part of the fashion designers, why not hold a contest? That way everyone's raw talent would be showcased properly and it would be a fun time as well and educative."
"Oh. True. It is nice. Like what T.Z fashion company did last year?"
"Yes, ma'am. It was the talk of the city. And I know it wasn't here in our city but then, qualified and talented fashion designers keep popping out every day. It would be a good opportunity. Besides a lot of them would have improved better even after losing last year's competition."
"I second Peng Xiaoli's suggestions," Jian Xiaofei chipped in.
"Interesting. Well, we would have to bring it up with the CEO. Also, I have a goal this year. The annual fashion contest for the country, I am looking forward to participating in it."
"You mean the fashion fest or like the Paris Fashion Event of all time?"
"No. Although there is something like that this year where each fashion house sends in their designs to be showcased during the fashion week and Starlight Apparel would be participating in that, my goal is to also participate in the Queen of Fashion World award this year for Top fashion designer."
Both Peng Xiaoli and Jian Xiaofei had their eyes widened at her goals. That was one of the biggest fashion events that had happened.
It was virtually a dream for most fashion designers. And for Andromeda wishing to partake in something like that meant she needed to go head-to-head with some top fashion designers from other cities. That stand-alone was a bold one."
"I know it seems like I am aiming too high."
"No. Not at all, Ms. Kai," Peng Xiaoli stated as she shook her head.
"It is not too much of a goal or dream. I have seen your talents and you are indeed a talented person. It would be nice if the country could know your name even more. Not only would you rise but you would out Beatrice Zhang to shame."
"Yes. This brings me to the most important part. It is high time I exposed Beatrice Zhang's crimes against me all those years. And even for the theft, she committed during their last fashion show to showcase their new line of stolen clothes."
Her lips held a faint smile as a mischievous glint flashed in those beautiful blue eyes of hers.
"I need to clear my name and that of Starlight Apparel's. We never copied any of their designs. That and amongst others must be proven. I need to do this before November this year."
"Hmm you need a clear record before the contest period in the first week of November," Jian Xiaofei noted thoughtfully.
Taking a turn, she walked over to the calendar in Andromeda's office as her eyes skimmed through properly.
"Soon it would be Halloween, we do not have much time. You just have about three months max. You need to prepare more."
"Sure, Jian Xiaofei. I am not scared. I would prepare on time."
Peeling her gaze from Xiaofei, she turned to face Xiaoli. "Now, do you have the video?"
"Sure. My link in the company has gotten everything I need," Peng Xiaoli stated.
"Very good. Do you have the footage with you?"
"Yes. It was sent to my email yesterday. You can collect it from my phone. I have it downloaded."
"Thank you."
Handing her the phone, Peng Xiaoli assisted Andromeda in getting out the file before taking a step back as she waited for the complete transfer of the file.
Meanwhile, Jian Xiaofei stood silently, observing what was going on without butting in.
"Yesh," Andromeda heaved out a deep sigh and leaned back against her seat.
Slowly she diverted her gaze from her laptop screen and brought it over to Jain Xiaofei.
Instantly, she picked up the younger girl's confusion and smiled gently at her.
"I am sorry for leaving you out. However, what we are about to watch, I would leave it for Xiaoli to explain to you. Then you would understand what we meant."
Rather than speaking, she nodded her head and moved back to the duo, and waited for the explanation.
"As you wish, Ms. Kai," Peng Xiaoli said, and then she turned her attention to Jian Xiaofei.
"Simple, it was all my plan."
Not fully getting a grasp of what was going on, Jian Xiaofei arched her brows at her and waited for her explanation.
"After informing Ms. Kai about the plot to steal her designs, she had me not do anything but then I knew should it be revealed that the designs were stolen or copied, I would be the first target in getting back at her. From then, I told her I wanted to do something just in case Beatrice Zhang tried to get her payback."
"Okay."
"Please, have your seat," Andromeda cut in briefly as she gestured with both her hands pointing at the two chairs in front of her desk.
Saying their thanks, both ladies took to their seats and carried on with the discussion.
"Then I had a friend help me set a camera in my office just to be safe. And as predicted, knowing the kind of person Beatrice Zhang was, I waited. Truly she fell for the trap and came to request an explanation as to why I stole her designs and gave them to you."
"The nerve!" Jain Xiaofei hollered, slamming her palm on the table with her left hand.
As for Andromeda who was not expecting such a reaction from the little feisty Joan Xiaofei, she had her heart jump into her throat and her eyes went wide from the shock she was left in while Peng Xiaoli giggled.
Averting her gaze from Jian Xiaofei, she glared at Peng Xiaoli who was not affected by the whole ordeal.
"Really?"
"My apologies, she is funny. I like her feisty nature, Ms. Kai."
"Me too. Now finish your tale before Xiaofei gives someone a heart attack."
"My apologies but this Beatrice whatever seems more like a pest and parasite to me than an actual human being."
"Tell me about it," Peng Xiaoli openly enunciated as she mirrored Andromeda's relaxed pose in her seat.
"Anyways, with everything planned, I knew she would find incriminating evidence against me and when she did not, she would create hers. And she did the same thing. It was funny but I acted my part well. And now, I shave something to use against her."
"And one, two three..." Andromeda's voice trailed off.
Tapping lightly on her desk, her fingers trailed off to an unknown rhythm as she waited for the file to completely enter her laptop.
Once that happened, she clicked on the video, had it on full screen, and turned to the side to face the two ladies in front of her. l and herself.
"Let's watch ladies."
Together all three of them watched everything that transpired and luckily, Jain Xiaofei was surprised by how good the camera angle was that it caught when the man planted by Beatrice put the flash drive in her drawer.
"Bingo!" Jian Xiaofei yelled out in joy.
She could not be prouder of Peng Xiaoli for managing this feat.
By the time they were done with the video, all Andromeda had for Peng Xiaoli was a face full of smiles.
"You have done well," she complimented and locked her laptop screen, putting it to sleep.
"We have another good evidence. She was trying to cover up her crime by framing someone else. No matter how she thought about it, there is no escaping this."
Nodding her head, Jian Xiaofei lifted both hands in front of her chest and gave Peng Xiaoli a thumbs up. "You did well. Nice footage."
"Thank you. I am happy I could be useful to Andromeda in any way I can. They have used her long enough; it is only natural they pay for it. You have your footage, all that is left is showing this in court."
