CHAPTER 240
Following the timeline given to her by Lawyer Chang, Andromeda kept a calm approach to things.
If there was one thing, she knew that Wu Bai must have found his way in and probed a worker.
With such knowledge of things, she played the public image the best way she could.
Within a blink of an eye, it was already Thursday and a clear indication of an august visitor paying them a surprise visit.
That morning had begun calmly for her. She had not seen Liu Xueyi since the previous day at work.
Not even once did he call her to come over to come to greet her, both at home or work.
After settling things in order, Andromeda made her decision to go pay him a surprise visit in his office.
Besides, she was eager for his sweet kisses and it would not be bad at all if she did.
Taking matters into her hands, she arrived at the last floor and stepped out enthusiastically from the elevator.
Within a minute she arrived in front of Fu Chu Hua's desk and lightly greeted.
Her eyes flickered over to Liu Xueyi's door as she silently inquired the secretary.
"My apologies, Miss Kai, the Boss is not on seat."
"Is that so? A meeting in the conference room or?"
"A meeting outside."
"Do you know when he would be returning?"
"Not exactly, maybe at the close of work. Or he won't come in at all today."
"Then who would handle all of his duties? Are you sure he is okay? Did he tell you where the meeting is at by any chance, please?"
Seeing the desperate look in her eyes, Fu Chu Hua felt bad that she was not going to give her any official details at this point.
Not because she did not want to but for the fact that she couldn't do so. She had no idea where her boss went.
However, she could only relay this bit of info.
"My apologies. That is all I know. You can call him," Fu Chu Hua suggested.
"Already on it," Andromeda affirmed as she placed her phone on her left ear and waited for it to ring.
Ring! Ring!
Andromeda and Fu Chu Hua kept their attention fixed on the supposed call as they waited for any response from the call.
Seconds flew by but nothing. In the end, the call went dead and no reply came from the other end.
"He must be really busy then. Alright," she lifted her head and smiled at Fu Chu Hua. "Thanks for your time."
"You are welcome."
"Sigh, he is going to have a bulk of work piled up for him at this rate," Andromeda muttered more to herself than anyone but unknown to her, her thoughts rang out clearly.
"Umm you may not have noticed but, the CEO made preparations for that as well."
"Huh?"
"Yes. The Vice CEO is back."
"What?"
Suddenly she heard the sounds of footsteps come to a stop not so far from them. Without being told she knew it was someone she knew and probably the one she was talking about.
"Andromeda Kai! My favorite female friend."
A knowing smile soon found its way up to her eyes masking the shock that appeared when he called out her name loud and clear.
Not one for being stunned so much especially when it didn't matter involving Liu Xueyi, she winked at Fu Chu Hua before turning around to see the funny Xu Fang.
"Should I say I missed you now or?" Andromeda inquired while placing her right hand on her waist.
From this standpoint, she looked like a domineering lady who would not take nonsense from her employees or those around her.
Fair, she was domineering in her way but the way her eyes moved, shining with the mischievous grin, only made him swallow and return her look with a sheepish smile.
"Hmm I guess I miss your innocent sheepish escaping smile," she finally confessed.
The moment the words fell out of her lips, Xu Fang released a deep sigh as his lips pulled back a bit, smiling once more.
"Hello, Andromeda."
"Hi. Welcome back, Xu Fang."
"Thank you. It's been a while and since that muddle..." Recalling who he was about to make fun of, Xu Fang swallowed down his words quickly.
From the corner of his eyes, he could see Chu Hua smiling as she went about her work.
"Tsk..." Slowly he brought his gaze back to Andromeda's face.
"You were going to call him a muddlehead," Andromeda said before letting down her hand as she shook her head.
"Always naughty. Two of you. That is all I can say. Anyways, yeah. I am a bit free now."
"Perfect!" Xu Fang exclaimed, shocking both Andromeda and Fu Chu Hua. "How about we catch up on things?" He asked expectantly.
However, before Andromeda got the chance to respond to his words, Fu Chu Hua beat her to it in a rather cautioning manner.
"Umm, I am sorry sir, but Mr. Liu said I should remind you that you have a pile of work to finish before his arrival anytime I see you slacking off."
Instantly the hair on his body stood on end when she replayed the warning message dished out to her by Liu Xueyi.
Saying those words was like having the king himself scold him but the good part about it all... She was the one saying it and not Liu Xueyi.
And that to Xu Fang was a flaw. He only feared his friend.
"Hehe," he chuckled lightly as he reached up with his right hand to scratch the side of his head before placing it leisurely behind his head.
With both eyes closed, Xu Fang gave her the most heartwarming smile he gave to ladies that made their hearts swoon for him.
"Huh, forget you saw this, Chu Hua. It's not going to be long. I just need this to unwind a bit. Let loose from the work he plans on killing me with."
At this point, he had hoped that once she saw that smile, her heart would be fluttered.
Sadly for him, that was not the case here. By the time he gazed back in her direction again, Xu Fang was met with a stoic unaffected expression from her.
Gulp!
His eyes widened a bit as he gulped visibly.
From where she stood, Andromeda watched as the crease in his brows seemed to form a knot with each passing second.
At this point, she could not blame either of them. While one had the quirks of a playboy, the other had been groomed thoroughly by the charming CEO himself.
Of course, when he plays a such card with her, he was going to be at a loss.
"Don't tell me my charms didn't work," Xu Fang stated completely shocked and unhappy.
Quickly his expression changed as he wore his frown proudly. "Fu Chu Hua, whose side are you on? Liu Xueyi or mine?"
"None. I am on nobody's side. I am on the company's side. The side of justice."
"I do not know if blaming Liu Xueyi should be best but oh well." He turned his head to the side just in time to catch Andromeda bemused by the situation.
"This is not how to welcome, Andromeda."
"Yeah, I know. Anyways I would fix this."
Without bothering to explain too much, she turned fully to face Fu Chu Hua and placed her hand on her desk.
"I'll tell you what, turn a blind eye to his lazing around this time. He needs the rest for now before indulging himself in the pile of work. Besides, he just journeyed back from Africa. It must have been a bit tiring."
For a few seconds, Fu Chu Hua remained silent while she carefully considered Andromeda's words.
She had a point and one that couldn't easily be dismissed without a thought.
"Fine. For Miss Kai's sake. I would turn a blind eye."
Seeing how easy it was to convince her without the use of charms, Xu Fang felt a blow to his ego and his charming playboy skills.
Not being one to take it lying down, he instantly made his protest.
"Oh, now you are not thinking about the good of the company anymore. Tsk I see you are not playing fair, Chu Hua."
"One more word of complaining sir and I would be reporting to Mr. Liu that you tried to bribe me."
"Aish! Women can be scary at times," he said and pushed his lips out at her.
"Hahahaha..." Andromeda who was enjoying their banter did not bother holding in her laughter and let it out.
"Not funny, Andromeda."
"It sure is, Xu Fang. It looks like Xueyi warn himself a faithful one. Ignore him, Chu Hua. I would ensure he gets to work when I leave. Thanks."
"Anytime, Miss Kai."
Andromeda dipped her head, accepting the greeting before turning to face Xu Fang. "Shall we?"
"We shall, mademoiselle."
