CHAPTER 225

~Liu Residence~

Seated close to the window in her room, Xiao Xin lifted her eyes from where she had been staring before and gazed into the clouds.

Several minutes seemed to have passed but her eyes remained fixed on the sky ahead.

Ever since the day she wished to go out for the car race until now, Xiao Xin had always been gloomy and staring at nothing.

She did not understand it herself, but never once had she found herself in such shoes.

Letting out a deep sigh, the young miss of the Liu family lowered her gaze as she retreated from the window silt, returning to her bed.

"Xie Tian," Xiao Xin called out in a low tone.

Reaching for her side, her hands took hold of one of the pillows on her bed and brought it close to her chest.

She was downcast all right. But she did not know how or what to do to break free from that hold.

"I am not stupid to not know, you know," Liu Xiao Xin puffed her lips into a pout as she tightened her hold on the pillow.

Her eyes fluttered open, as her gaze trailed off into the distance once more, letting her thoughts encircle and capture her completely.

**Flashback**

"I am going to hold unto you, Xie Tian. Long time no see," Xiao Xin smiled out her catchphrase at him.

She hoped that with her charming smile and lovely appearance, he would be swayed, even if it was just for a little bit.

If that happens then she would have succeeded in getting his mind and attention from Andromeda and her brother to herself.

"No worries. I will keep my word. I won't leave," he affirmed with a reassuring smile.

Just watching all traces of his creased brows straighten out, Liu Xiao Xin felt her heart leap for joy in her chest. "Great then. Please can you take me for a ride while we catch up?"

"Sure. I didn't get to take you for one back then. Let's go."

"Thanks."

Turning in the direction of his car, Xie Tian held out his elbow for her to take.

Averting her eyes, a bit to the side, Liu Xiao Xin took one casual look to see if her brother was still around and after making sure his car wasn't there, her eyes narrowed a bit as she turned her head to face Xie Tian.

To her amazement, he did the very same thing and turned his eyes towards after when she gazed back up at him.

"Shall we?"

"We shall."

By the time her eyes left him, her smile broadened the more. This was an outing she had yearned for, for quite some time.

And now that she was finally having it, she was truly happy.

Together they walked to the car and got in. The second Xie Tian turned on the car stereo, they got connected to the Radio's FM.

"Oh, sorry," he apologized and reached into his pocket to get his phone.

At the same time, an old piece of music began to play, bringing a smile to Xiao Xin's face when she heard that familiar tone rings its melodies in her ears.

"Wait," Xiao Xin stated calmly.

However, before Xie Tian could say any words, her lips parted; the most sonorous voice he had heard second to Andromeda's rang out loud and clear.

"I hear the ticking of the clock; I'm lying here the room's pitch dark."

Her eyes blinked to a close, as she tilted her head from side to side.

Regardless of whether he was watching her or not, she sang along with the radio, eliciting a joyous sound from the depths of her throat.

"I wonder where you are tonight. No answer on the telephone. And the night goes by so very slow. Oh, I hope that it won't end though alone."

Slowly Xie Tian placed his phone between them before bringing them back to her face again.

"Til now I always got by on my own. I never really cared until I met you. And now it chills me to the bone. How do I get you alone?"

His eyes lit up, watching her come undone as she sang from her heart.

By the time the track finished playing, a round of applause followed. "Wow. Simply wow. You blew my mind away."

"Really?" Xiao Xin asked. The smiles that adorned her pretty face left it hard for him not to see how happy she was.

A very different version of how she was when they got in.

"You really love singing, don't you?"

"Yeah. It helps me and I can let it all out. It is simply my way of screaming at the world."

His lips tugged to the side at her confession. Regardless, he did not want to let her joy end. Quickly he connected to the Bluetooth of the car and handed her his phone.

"You can search out any song you would like to sing along with while we go for a ride. What say you?"

Xiao Xin bit down on her lower lip for some seconds as she appraised her options.

Of course, she loved the idea of going out with him for some karaoke or something but since she couldn't do that, she was happy to do this instead.

At least her audience was a charm in his making.

"Okay. How about Parachute? I just recently heard her. I would love to vibe with it, if you do not mind, that is?"

"No. I do not. Enjoy."

That evening carried on like that and after spending some time racing, they finally drove off for dinner.

They spent more time than before catching up on each other's lives while also having fun and by the time it was close to midnight, Xie Tian had to call it off and take her home.

For one, he was happy to have hung out with her as his anger dissipated.

However, he could tell something was up and when he asked her, after dropping her in front of the Liu mansion, Xie Tian probed once more.

Taking a step closer, he placed both hands on her shoulders as he leaned his head down a bit, hoping to see what was wrong.

"What is wrong, Xiao Xin?" Xie tian asked for the third time that night.

And when she gave her reply, Xiao Xin responded in a way he would have never expected.

Standing on tip toes, she moved in and pressed a kiss on his lips, shocking him with her sudden action as he took a step back away from her and her kiss.

Everything had happened too fast for him and his best response was to break the kiss before things got out of hand.

For the longest of seconds, they stood there staring at each other with no one speaking.

"Xiao..." She did not let him speak as she took to her heels, running as fast as her feet could take her.

**Flashback Ends**

"Sigh, I guess I was too forward. And till now he has only messaged me once but did his best to ignore the kiss. What do I do?!"
