Andromeda blinked back a tear as she gazed up to stare into his dark eyes. "Why?"
"Why?" Liu Xueyi drew his brows together, trying to understand why she would ask such a question.
"Why?" Andromeda inquired once more. "Holding it in must have been too difficult for you if you were not drugged then perhaps not a big problem. However, you were. Getting turned off wouldn't just be."
"Well… I felt guilty. I still do, Andy." He inhaled deeply as he trailed his gaze from her face, going down to where her feet lay on the edge of the sofa.
"No. It wasn't your fault. Even till the end, you were still concerned about me."
She blinked severally again and this time, she reached up, placing both hands at either side of his face as she gently caressed his cheeks.
"I couldn't do anything. Not to a defenceless innocent lady who fell prey to me." He brought his gaze back to her as his smile seeped into his eyes.
"I am truly sorry, Andromeda."
"It is okay. Alright, you cleaned me off. What about you? What did you do? How did you survive the night and why did I not catch a cold if you left me in the bathtub to soak."
"I never said I left you there. I allowed you to soak for a while with my eyes closed. I tried all I could to avoid looking at you. I felt it wasn't right even though I had already done wrong. I just couldn't…"
He paused briefly, sweeping his gaze all over her face. "Why are we discussing this?"
"Because I want to. I want to know all. So, feel free and relax. No part of me hates you for that night," Andromeda persuaded calmly.
Heaving out a deep sigh, Liu Xueyi let his eyelids come to a close. And by the time he reopened them, a touch of joy and sadness washed over him completely.
"Everyone that knows thinks I slept with you that night. Well, technically I did, however…"
"You did not. Not to me though. You broke my hymen but on Thursday, that was my first sex with you."
"Whatever you say, love. Anyway, after waiting a long time, I checked your temperature and you seemed okay though you weren't perfect. I took you out of the water, wrapped in a towel while I took you to the bed."
"And?"
"Then, I left the lights off and locked myself in the bathroom. I sat under the showers all through."
The second those words left his mouth; Andromeda sprang up into a sitting position as she turned around to stare at him.
The look of shock and bewilderment could not be hidden from her face as her eyes locked on his.
"Xue… Yi…" Her voice broke for a second and he watched her lips quiver in response.
No other words fell out of her lips but his name, making him wonder what in God's name was truly wrong with her.
The look in her eyes softened as tears threatened to spill from her socket. "Andy."
His breathing came in deep and slowly. Neither of them was alright and he could tell as well as see it through her eyes.
She felt pity or sad for him. Sad that he had to pay the price for what happened to them all alone.
As good as her feelings were, Liu Xueyi could not help wondering if they were out of place.
He did not deserve any bit of what she did. She deserved the best in life.
Without saying anything, his big hands reached for her cheeks, rubbing his thumb gently over her skin. "Forgive me for making you worry, my love."
"Xueyi… You could have caught a cold or worse. You already had a migraine yet stayed under the showers for quite a long time. Whenever I did that, I would have more headaches than I could ever imagine."
"Having a migraine was way better than forcing myself on you. I don't want to ever do that to any girl. No lady deserves that and worse not once who just lost a precious treasure."
"Was this why you did not want to tell me about that day?"
'Yes. I would have rather you had a sweet imagination of how your first time was and not…" He averted his gaze from her face, laying them on the tray she brought.
"Anything to help you forget about the heartache that very day caused you."
"I see. If there is anything, I should say thank you. Thank you for putting my interest first even when you did not know me."
"Don't say that. If you thank me, I would feel more guilty."
Sensing his sadness, Andromeda smiled sweetly. She reached up for his hands and placed her hand over his as she caressed his skin in a soothing manner, prompting his attention her way.
Regardless, Liu Xueyi was stubborn enough not to want to allow that to happen. "Look at me, hon. Look at me."
He hesitated for some seconds but in the end, he brought his eyes back to hers.
However, Andromeda was consumed by too many emotions that she did not give him an opportunity to complain or talk her out of anything as she pushed forward quickly and pressed a kiss on her lips.
His eyes widened a fraction at her sudden show of love as her hands on his moved heading for his neck.
Effortlessly she wrapped her hands around Liu Xueyi's neck as she deepened the kiss some more.
Feeling her love pour into that one kiss, Liu Xueyi's eyes drop close. Taking the lead, he let his hand drop to her waist as he wrapped his hands around her.
Seconds passed by quickly while they basked in the sweetness of their love, sharing a truly passionate kiss.
Never in her life had she seen someone treat her with so much respect, especially when they had no idea who she was.
Several others would have jumped on the opportunity and had her to their fill. After all, her body was willing but not this guy.
