CHAPTER 206

Andromeda immediately gave her the raised brow, wondering what had gotten into her all of a sudden.

Ignoring her stare, Jian Xiaofei quickly voiced her thoughts. "You need it and this is good. It would be with a friend. You should really take it."

Andromeda's shoulders slouched just having to listen to her subordinate talk this way.

It was like her late mother was pushing her for a date. This was also why she refrained from calling his name out when he called.

She kept her suspicions about her and Liu Xueyi in her heart.

Not until she could determine that Jian Xiaofei wasn't helping Lui Xueyi spy on her, she had no desire to mention Xie Tian's name.

The last thing she needed was them brawling about things or about herself.

It gave her a headache in ways he could barely think of. It was best to evade them as possible.

Smiling charmingly at Jian Xiaofei, Andromeda's eyes twinkled as she denied her offer. "No."

"No?" Both Xie Tian and Jian Xiaofei inquired at the same time.

For some reason, she had almost forgotten he was still on the phone when she spoke to Jian Xiaofei.

Quickly she placed the phone on her left ear once more while keeping her warning gaze on Jian Xiaofei.

"I am busy and I…"

"She would love to go!" Jian Xiaofei yelled out, interjecting Andromeda.

"Xiaofei!" Andromeda hollered in disbelief.

"Hehe, sorry boss but you need it. Look at how cranky you have gotten. If Mr Liu…"

At the mention of Liu Xueyi's name, Andromeda's eyes widened as she immediately pressed her hand against her mouthpiece and sent a deathly glare at Jian Xiaofei.

"Oopsie?"

"Get out!"

"Sure."

She wasted no time in hurrying off as the look in Andromeda's eyes did change completely.

She had been trying to avoid any confrontation or mentioning the other party's name in the presence of the other but now…

Her thoughts were immediately interrupted when Jian Xiaofei who was by the door turned halfway and prompted her to go out again.

"Trust me, Miss Kia. Take this chance and relax. When you return, you would feel better."

Rolling her eyes at her, Andromeda let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine."

"Yesh!" Jian Xiaofei balled her hands into fists as she happily yelled out in joy.

Sensing the cold gaze eating away at her skin, she dipped her head in and opened the door.

Regardless of being scolded, she was happy Andromeda was taking her advice.

Returning her attention to the call, she said a few words to Xie Tian and ended her call.

Without wasting time, she set out after tidying up her desk and shutting down her laptop.

Meanwhile, that very day became one hell f a very busy one for Liu Xueyi.

Unlike the other days that had him mixing up his schedule and his acting with things, this was different.

It was filled with meetings upon meetings and meetings.

He had stepped out from an appointment with a bank manager after about forty-five minutes of listening to his proposal.

His eyes felt heavy as if they were laced with sleep and if it was just sheer exhaustion he could not tell.

All Liu Xueyi knew was the fact that he was overwhelmed and wanted rest.

Opening the door to his office and stepping inside, his eyes landed on Rong Bolin who decided to amuse himself on his iPad as he played the Call of Duty mobile game.

Shaking his head at his friend, he walked in, shutting the door after him with a loud bang to startle the latter.

Regardless, the reaction he was expecting wasn't what he got and not until he had walked in some more and saw the black ear pods did he understand the reason his friend wasn't disturbed by his earlier noise.

"Ah see…"

Liu Xueyi shook his head and placed his hand into his pocket.

Within seconds he retrieved his phone, tapped on it for some seconds and then waited.

Ring! Ring!

"Holy molly! What the…!" Rong Bolin almost yelled out again when his eyes landed on the caller.

At the same time, he jolted to his feet as realization dawned on him. "Gosh, it's Liu…"

He did not finish his words when Liu Xueyi took one more step forward, coming to his line of sight.

"Ah! Don't scare me like that. What are you? A ghost or what?" Rong Bolin scolded as he sent a warning glare at his friend.

"I should land a nice knock on your head. What are you? Twelve? You are a mafia boss for crying out loud. How can you be so… Urgh. You got scared really?"

His lips parted slightly as he moved them to the side in disbelief.

At times his friends behaved in a weird way.

"I hope you have failed now," Liu Xueyi pointed out, directing his attention to the iPad still in Rong Bolin's hand.

Finally realizing what he meant, his eyes widened in shock as he lifted the iPad close to his head to take a look.

"Dead. I have been shot and no one to pick my dog tag."

His shoulders slouched so much that Liu Xueyi almost felt pity for him but knowing who he was, he shook every thought away.

"That is just one match, you can always get better. In fact, the next match, make sure you get your revenge."

"Sure. I can start now by venting my anger with my hands tied around your throat," he spat out daringly.

"Forget it. Let's go. Since I have not had time to speak to you since morning, we can do so while I go for my next meeting."

"I see. "Umm, mind telling me what time it is exactly?" Rong Bolin inquired.

"Umm at 2:30 pm. Why? You hungry?"

"Of course! Do you still need to ask? Just sitting here and waiting for you is energy consuming?" Rong Bolin lashed out.

"Nah, you are actually nagging more than before. I feel like someone pressed the wrong button. Sigh! Fine. There were snacks, fruits and umm cake in the refrigerator. Why not have my secretary tend to your needs?"

"I did not want to bother the poor girl. She was saddled with work," Rong Bolin confessed and removed his shade from his pocket before wearing and fixing his gaze back at Liu Xueyi.

"I look good right?"

"Uh…"

"What is taking you so long to make your judgement?" Rong Bolin queried almost instantly.

"I swear you are cranky today. Anyways, you look like you. Is that good enough?"

"Yeah. But I wonder why she would not even take a look at me. Tsk, what is wrong with my appearance?"

"Maybe if you stop acting weird like now, she would take a liking to you," Liu Xueyi advised.

"Hey," Rong Bolin turned to face him fully as he pointed his index finger at him. "That was my inner thoughts. How dare you butt in."

"For your inner thoughts, I must say I find it disappointing and loud."

"What?" He bit his lower lips hard and balled his hand into a fist at his side. "You said?"

"For someone of your caliber, I find those thoughts, umm let's see…" he tiled his head a bit to the side and squinted in a rather serious manner as he placed a finger on his chin.

Suddenly his cold gaze returned to Rong Bolin, sending him bad energy. "You are Rong's, Young Master. Getting girls has never been your problem. However, acting childlike is more annoying and disappointing. Get her. You can do it again."

"Bleh, bleh, bleh, yen, yen…" Rong Bolin shook his head as his failed mimicking sounds fell off his lips.

"You were the wrong person to seek advice from. Anyways, let's go."

"Yeah. And to appease your sullen mood, we would stop to eat before I head for my meeting. My driver would drop you at your office. I bet your father would be pleased to see your late arrival."

"Bleh. Master Rong would be too busy to be bothered. Nice try. Besides, I can make you an alibi. Now, no time to waste. It would soon be 1:30 pm. Shall we?"

Taking the first step, Liu Xueyi led the way out of his office as they made their exit.

Not long after, they were already driving down the main road to their destination.

Just being in the same sitting position and with the same person as happened in the morning, he felt a sense of déjà vu happening again.

Subconsciously, he allowed his mind, body and being to slip into deep thoughts as he fixed his gaze outside the car window, admiring the streets, the crowd of people walking and going about their lives.

Even with such thoughts, Liu Xueyi could not get over the sight of Andromeda enjoying coffee with a strange man.

'What if it was Gu Jun? I may not have seen the face but his back…'

All of a sudden, something else caught his attention and he tensed up in his seat.
