CHAPTER 205

All through their drive, Rong Bolin did not confront Liu Xueyi's actions nor inquire about what was going on.

Instead, he did not show any signs he was bothered for a reason.

Speaking to him now would seem futile but then, on second thought, he should calm down.

If there was anything that angered Liu Xueyi, he could not place exactly whom it was considering the guy was seated with his back to the window, while Andromeda was on full display.

Trying to calm his mind down, he considered the fact that the hair of the person was dissimilar from Xie Tian's.

That singular thought was enough to help his brain.

Had it been Xie Tian, Liu Xueyi did not know what he would do.

He disliked the fact that he was in love with Andromeda and was not ready to back down.

Worst, it did not seem like she was willing to start picking sides, especially his. All because of Xie Tian.

On getting to the company, Liu Xueyi immediately went to the conference room for his meeting, leaving Rong Bolin to wait for him in his office.

On the other hand, Andromeda who decided to grab a cup of coffee before heading to the office, called in she would get there late but before 9.

Not only was the coffee important to her. She felt she needed a bit of fresh air to clear her thinking as well.

By the time it was 8:30 am, Andromeda rose to her feet with her order of coffee for her workers in her hands.

"That's it. I hope you have fun at work today, Jun."

"Sure. You too. Don't I love a good director like you? Your workers would be happy," he stated calmly.

"Hahhaa, well the first ten persons I see would enjoy these coffees. For the others, I would give them host their drinks at lunchtime."

"Still the same thing I am saying. They are lucky to have you," he complimented with a smile.

"Great then. Anyways, thanks for today. I am glad I did not turn down such an offer to ease off my worries."

"Yeah. And you got an idea for another clothing line." He winked at her as he rose from his seat.

"Time to work some butts off. See you soon, Andromeda and I hope the next time I call or see you; you and your CEO have figured out what you both want."

"Sure. I would try my best."

****

A couple of minutes past 1 pm and Andromeda was already stamping her feet eagerly as she finished the pile of work on her table.

Thanks to her early morning coffee, she felt fired up to take on her task for the day.

However, after focusing so much on work, her brain cells virtually felt dead.

Looking at how tired she was, Jian Xiaofei shook her head at her boss from where she stood at the other table.

Andromeda had been so packed full that she needed Jian Xiaofei's help with sorting out the drawings for her next designs from what the designers under her submitted.

"Miss Andromeda, you need a break," Jian Xiaofei's voice resounded as her feet stopped before Andromeda's table.

Raising her head slowly from what she was working on, Andromeda exhaled sharply as she shook her head.

"No. I am not done. I have to check all these requests today. The orders coming in this week because of the opening ceremony of Chairman Bao's new studio and his hotel is crazy," she informed.

"And being the best fashion house in the country now, everyone wants to place their orders and brag about their outfits coming from our line."

"Yes. I know but considering the issue with Divine Pearl's Company. I am surprised a lot of people still order from us."

"They believe in my work and the quality material they get. I try my best not to disappoint. However..." she began but stopped midway and shook her head.

Her reaction and decision made Jian Xiaofei question her and finished her sentence for her.

"However, people like top fashion designer, Beatrice Zhang are not trustworthy no matter how one wants to look at it."

"Yes. She isn't. Hmm, I should call Peng Xiaoli later. I cannot trust anything happening in that company and I fear that Beatrice would make things difficult for her."

Understanding Andromeda's fears, Jian Xiaofei nodded her head at her.

"Okay!" She exclaimed out of the blue, earning an arch brow from Andromeda.

"With that said, you need to take a break. The work won't run away, Miss Kai. However, your health is important. Since 9 am, you have been neck-deep in your work. Please I do not want to be scolded by Mr Liu."

Andromeda's brows arched up in surprise from the truth that was spilt out unintentionally.

"Hmm, scold you…" Her voice trailed off in a soft whisper before fixing her narrowed eyes on Jian Xiaofei. "Why would Mr Liu do so?"

Sensing her situation and the fact that a nosy Andromeda was hard to shake off, Jian Xiaofei decided to turn the conversation around.

"Umm, I said you needed a break. Perhaps going out for lunch would be better."

"No. I can order my meal."

"Nah. You need the refreshing air. In here is stuffy. Let me get the window and hopefully give us some natural air."

She did not wait for Andromeda's order before turning on her heels and heading for the door.

"Halt!" Andromeda half yelled from her seat, forcing Jian Xiaofei to obey her order.

The latter swallowed hard but did not dare disobey. "Turn," Andromeda dished out her order once more.

Like a spell-bound servant, she turned slowly till she was standing face to face with Andromeda.

GULP!

"Keep swallowing. It would not change anything nor save you from my grasp."

"But ma'am…"

"Is that the direction to get the window?" Andromeda interjected firmly.

Checking where she was headed before, Jian Xiaofei's lips tugged sideward, revealing a very sheepish smile at her mistake.

She had said she was going to the window, but her feet were actually taking her to the door.

"That is to show you that something is definitely suspicious. Tell me. Why would Liu Xueyi scold you because of me? By any chance, did he ask you to keep tabs on me?"

Immediately cold sweat broke out from the side of Jian Xiaofei's face as she reasoned quickly on how best to answer her boss.

"Ma'am, you see."

"Keep talking," Andromeda urged her before rising to her feet as well.

"Well, that is not the case," Jian Xiaofei began.

She hated lies but right now, Andromeda wasn't giving her much of a choice. It was either she distorted the truth or she spilt and had Andromeda punish her.

Regardless, spilling would mean going out of favour with both parties should they find out.

In the end, she knew which side to take.

"Then what is?"

"Obviously I am close to you. Should anything happen, it would be me that would take the blame first. And I can't have Mr Liu yell at me for not doing my job as your trainee."

"You are not my trainee. Besides, you are not responsible for me."

"True, but you are this company's best fashion designer. We would all be responsible. Now please…"

She did not get to finish her words when a call came through to Andromeda's phone.

Peeling her gaze from Jian Xiaofei, Andromeda cast a glance at her phone screen to check the caller.

Her eyes widened a bit when she saw the caller. Picking an interest in her reaction, Jian Xiaofei took a step closer.

"Is it someone important?" She questioned quickly.

"Umm yeah. A friend," Andromeda explained casually as she picked up her phone from the desk and answered.

"Hello?"

The second Xia Tian heard her voice, his heart became elated by it and a sweet smile adorned his lips and he responded calmly.

"Hey, Andy."

"Yeah. Hi. How are you?"

"Good. Right where you left me."

"I am sorry about that. I really wanted to be left alone that day."

"Nah It is okay. I owe you an apology as well. What do you say, lunch?"

A smug smile hung on her lips at his request as she averted her gaze to Jian Xiaofei who stood not so far from where she sat.

"Miss Andromeda, did you get asked out on a date?" Jian Xiaofei questioned.

She knew she had no right to pry but what more could she do when it seemed like someone was going to steal her boss from her main boss?

Her anger rose just from thinking about it while also wondering how best to avoid the situation.

"No. Just an apology lunchtime from a friend."

Hearing the person was a friend and with the casual tone, Andromeda portrayed, made her feel okay and fired up.

'All right for now, he is not a threat. This is okay. Besides, Miss Andromeda needs the time out to give her brain a good functional rest. I should urge ger.'

Nodding her head in her silent thought, Jian Xiaofei's lips pulled back to the side, revealing a sly smile in those mischievous small eyes of hers.

"That's it then, you are going," she announced firmly.
