On that very day, Andromeda thought it wise to inform her lawyer about the happenings and get his advice on what to do and how to get Wu Bai implicated big time.
She scrolled through her contact list on her phone, got his contact out and placed a call to him.
While the phone rang from the other end, Andromeda tapped away on her desk as she waited patiently.
It had become a habit of hers to do that while she waited for something or even when she was having a conversation with someone.
Subconsciously she began to count the seconds in her mind when his tired voice echoed in her ears, jolting her out of her thought.
"Ah!"
"Good afternoon, Miss Kai," his resonant voice greeted properly.
"Good afternoon, Lawyer Chang."
"How do you do today?" he asked letting a soft smile formed on his cheeks. "How is work?"
"I am fine. You?"
"Great and tired," he confessed. "What can I do for you?"
"Well, I am calling to find out some things from you and I would also be sending footage to email as well."
"I see. What about what you need to ask me?"
"I want to file a case against Wu Bai. First off, he breached the restraining order before but that can be passed on since we didn't make use of the device," she informed him.
"Yes. Alright but still."
"Do not worry. I know he would try and get me later. However, I want to be prepared for it."
"Alright. I would drop by your office later today. It is 1 pm, let's see if I can arrive there at 3 pm latest. Then we can speak more about this because now, I am having another meeting in three minutes max."
"Sure. You do not need to rush. I will be waiting."
"Alright, Miss Kia."
"Yes. Goodbye."
She felt relieved knowing she could count on him for his help and he would be able to help her in her plans.
So when her phone began to ring again later, she was too joyed that she answered it first before checking on the caller.
To her surprise, it was Liu Xueyi who was on the call.
Swallowing hard, Andromeda cleared her throat before greeting.
"Hello, good afternoon."
"Andy," his raspy voice rang out from the other end of the phone.
Just listening to his ragged breath from the phone, she could tell he was very tired. No doubt, she felt he may have been saddled with one meeting or the other on an endless train.
She felt bad for him but the second the thought crossed her mind, Andromeda shook the thought from her head and focused.
"How are you?"
"You can tell. Too tired."
"I know. I am sorry for asking something stupid."
"Nah. It wasn't. Anyways, how are you?"
"Same old. Getting the job done."
"Good. Is it a pile?"
She shifted her gaze from the door, bringing it back to the pile of work on her desk. Compared to the word used, she saw it as something she could handle if she set her mind to it and was not much trouble at all for her.
"Maybe a little bit above normal. But I can handle it."
"That is better. I hope you can finish it today because I want to spend time with you tomorrow."
A faint blush crept up her cheeks at his confession while a smile warmed up her eyes. "Xueyi."
"We haven't seen each other. I need to ensure you do not miss me too much."
A soft laugh fell off her lips at his words Indeed she did miss him now that he made mention of it.
However, that missing scarfed her. Luckily, she got so engrossed in her affairs that her mind failed to tempt her with images of him and their time together.
Unfortunately for her, she knew things would be different now that he had made mention of the fact that now he said it, her mind would distract her.
There was no denying that they may end up kissing by the time they saw.
Instantly she started thinking out ways to prevent and avoid him should in case such a situation has to occur again.
"Andromeda."
"Huh?"
"Do not tell me you zoned out on me?"
"Since you do not wish to know, Xueyi, I won't tell you."
His lips pulled back into a grin and he nodded his head as though she could see him.
"Anyways, please would you go out with me? We can visit the park if you wish after we go see a movie at the cinema."
"Ah, I like the sound of that. I may need it to clear my head some more. However, if you think it is okay for me to be moving about like this?"
"Yeah. Do not worry. I would have you protected. Nothing bad would go wrong."
"Alright then," she immediately agreed, thinking about the fact that Liu Xueyi would probably have to behave himself now that they were outside and her lips would be free from his sweet assault.
"It is a deal."
"Great. Thanks. See you tomorrow. And do try to close your time. I do not want you stressing yourself so much," he advised quickly.
"Ahan, my heart is so touched. Someone actually cares," Andromeda teased.
"Yeah. I care so much about tomorrow and I do not want you telling me any excuses as to why you would not be able to make it. Especially if laziness is the excuse you wish to give."
"Haha, funny. Fear not. I would not. Anyways, pardon me. I need to get back to work."
"Sure. I won't hold you back. Have a lovely day, Andromeda."
Upon ending the call with Liu Xueyi, she resumed her work full force.
If there was anything she knew better than anyone she was not going to have the time to spare considering Lawyer Chang stated his arrival would be at 3 pm.
Now more importantly, what scared her was the fact that the lawyer kept to time and hated lateness.
There was no second to lose with her work.
