CHAPTER 143
When they left Liu Xueyi alone, he quickly took this private time to himself and ensured he hid the bulge in his pants while he was thinking up ways to make this up to Andromeda and actually get to speak about why he called her.
To say he was not mad at himself for being weak enough to let Gao Yuemi have her way on him and make him ruin his chance to make Andromeda see things in a new light.
It took him some time to calm down and when he did, he felt better and decided to seek Andromeda out.
He tried several times to reach her through her cell phone but all he got was the same outcome. She never answered any of his calls.
After trying for some time, he went over to her office, hoping to meet her up only to find out she had left before his arrival.
Left with no other choice, he decided to let her calm down first before calling her again later in the day.
Without being told, he knew if he did not clarify things with her now, it would be harder later.
Worst he was very much tempted to visit her but right now, he felt she needed a bit of the space with everything that had happened between them which was why he resulted in calls.
In the end, later that evening his calls became more persistent, that Andromeda was focused to pick them up.
She was angrier when she arrived home, especially when her mind kept reeling her into their sweet moments together.
It made her feel even bitter. But when she saw he was bent on making her phone go low, she decided to pick it up and hear him out.
After all, who knows, she may be overthinking.
"Hello?" Andromeda's bored voice questioned.
"Andromeda, first of all, I would like to apologize," he began.
"For what exactly?"
"For everything."
"I do not know what you mean," she countered in haste.
She wished to hear him explain but her girlish side caught up with her and now she could not help but shake her head at her actions.
"I am sorry Andy for letting you witness such a scene in my office and for letting her latch herself unto me."
"Why are you apologizing for that?"
"Because..." he could not even push with his argument because they were not officially dating and that hurt him internally but then an idea came up and he tried to use it.
"Because I do not want you to misunderstand, Andy. I am sorry. I wasn't doing anything with her, I promise."
"There is no need for that. You can apologize to your girlfriend for me that I barged in. I bet she was stunned." The malice laced in her tone did not go unnoticed by Liu Xueyi who could tell she was obviously jealous to some extent or just sad.
"She is not my girlfriend, Andromeda and before you state that my taste is lousy, I do not have a girlfriend."
"Then what am I then hahaa?" she teased, knowing she had him tongue-tied.
"You did not let me finish. I meant I do not have any other girlfriend apart from you."
Her lisp pulled back into a sad smile as she titled her head back, placing a hand on her hips.
"You know you and I are just merely acting. No need to be so serious."
"No, I mean it, Andy. I have no other girl but you. And she, she is a childhood friend who just returned and wants to catch up."
"Yeah, she sure was catching up hugging you and squishing her boobs on your chest like that."
"Andromeda do not be like this," he countered pleadingly.
"Like how? I thought I was being normal."
"No. You are acting like you are jealous." She burst into a round of disbelieving laughter instantly. "Andy, I know what I am saying."
"Please. Stop it, Liu Xueyi."
"Then why did you walk off and refuse to pick up any of my calls nor return the missed calls?"
"I am busy. I want my brain to think straight and not be disturbed by your words."
"So, I am charming enough to distract you? I think that is a good start, love."
"Xueyi. This is not a game. Let it go."
"I know and I am not kidding Andromeda."
"I am not too."
"Then why did you leave?"
"You had an…" she swallowed her next words, letting out a deep sigh as she tried to crack her brain on how best to avoid all of this. "You were in an embarrassing situation, Liu Xueyi. The best I could do was what I did."
"I see. Thanks anyways. Although I do not mind if you look at me in that state."
Just hearing him become shameless again, Andromeda literally face-palmed herself. She could not believe he would use every opportunity he had to prove to her his shamelessness rather than to stick to his apology.
"For reals, Andromeda, believe me, please. I am so sorry for not being careful. Forgive me."
"I know. I understand. I noticed the situation when I walked in. It was she who was latching unto you but seeing as your lower body reacted, then I supposed you were loving it?"
"Only when you do, when we kiss."
"Shameless."
"Hahaha…" Liu Xueyi threw his head back in endless laughter, sparing her no form of courtesy as he freely let himself out. "Andy. Fine, let me make it up to you, okay?"
"How so?"
"How about a weekend in my place?"
Her eyes flew open in alarm at what he told her. "What?!" Andromeda half yelled into the phone, raining down her shock on his ears.
Sensing the danger in his words, he quickly explained to set things right. "No. I mean..." he released a deep breath before explaining his words. "I meant, come over let me treat you to a nice lunch and dinner on Saturday."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I would cook for you to make it up to you."
"Hmm..." she paused for a while, taking her time to carefully think about what he said.
"Seriously. I do not cook for anyone Andromeda. Noen but myself. You were the first person I cooked for before. And if you knew how important it is to my mother to be the one to taste my meal, you won't be refusing me now."
"I see. So should feel grateful for that, huh? I'll pass. For all I know, you may become naughty again."
Although she said those words sharply to hurt him or chase him away, her eyes held a certain warmth, accompanied by the warm smile on her lips, proving how much her anger had faded away.
"Of course, doing things with my girlfriend is allowed and I would have loved to take you out to dinner and lunch, but I cannot say what fans would do. Your peace may be disturbed," he explained tactically.
"I see. How considerate. Alright, I accept your apology. You have to make sure to treat me well, okay?"
"You bet I would. This time, I won't withhold the food from you."
They both shared calm laughter, recalling how he had starved her that morning in his house.
"Thanks, Xueyi."
"For?"
"Bye."
She did not give him an answer and ended the call instantly.
At least one thing was certain, she was glad that she had overthought the issue and things weren't as they seemed.
Most importantly, Andromeda felt glad she was getting a treat from him and getting the sole honour of him cooking her a meal.
And something about those thoughts made her smile really brightly, feeling giddy all over.
