Chapter 988 King Nyi Proposal

The cultivators of the Broken Rose Kingdom were stupefied by the magnitudes of relentless blows. Some were trying to count the amounts of golden fists pouring down while others had lost it under the great tremors.

"What's going on?!" said one of the cultivators whilst holding on to a pole.

"You think I have any idea? I was drinking with you!" said another cultivator holding the same pole.

"Is someone fighting a sea monster or something?!"

The speculations continued on until all thoughts were paused the moment tremors stopped. They all gaped, wondering what had transpired before their very eyes.

While the cultivators below the balcony were calming down, the above ones were in a tense situation.

King Nyi gulped and the bulge, when his saliva passed the throat, managed to get pricked by the point of the blade that Selena held.

The guards were looming in despair as they realized how the situation developed out. Their king was for a moment revealed himself, and he was in a state even his mother wouldn't recognize him, even then Lyon was not showing mercy with his punches as they bent the very space. To graze the space and left a fissure with punches, they knew how outclassed they were against a man, no, a monster like him.

"I see now why Refl would like to have you by his side," said King Nyi as he darted his glance toward Lyon.

"Is that so?" Lyon smirked.

"Yeah, Drogan has the runes as his key power, but you have something equally, no, perhaps even more destructive than that," said King Nyi. "With that much power inside your body, how can you retain sanity and not broke down? Or perhaps the effect will need more time."

"You're not simple," Lyon snorted. "What else?"

"I can deduce that you are indeed in fact, one hundred percent a peak True God Realm cultivator," said King Nyi.

"What...?!" the guards were in disbelief. The man that punished their king was significantly weaker than them, yet the power he exerted was on a whole other league.

"Correct," said Lyon with a nod.

"You... admit it, hmm," King Nyi furrowed his brows. "I never thought that you would so casually admit it, oh wait, who am I kidding, with such power inside your body, I too would probably say the same thing."

"How did you know?" asked Selena.

King Nyi took a deep inhale through his nose as he looked at Selena. "I know Cae's cultivation level, and judging by how your husband struggled a bit to kill him and had to exert such prowess, I have to bet that your husband didn't camouflage his cultivation level and it's actually the real one— of course, this reasoning is not a guaranteed truth, but your husband admitted it."

"Hmph," Selena snorted. "Not always I do find sharp-minded cultivators because the first one made me in love and the second made me want to rip her apart."

Lyon's brows twitched with his eyes closed. ( Man, how deep-rooted is their love-hate relationship really? ).

"Lyon, you have kil—"

Lyon walked up to his three students who were still recovering from the poison. He crossed his arms and stood towering above him mentally.

"I don't think Nirvana School will forgive what I did," said Lyon. "Your teacher has slain a king in Second Heaven, are you still willing to be my tutelage?"

"Are you kidding me?" Rayus struggled to get up before he was aided by Reinhard. "You healed me! You have slain a king, a fucking king! The last teacher we have was a coward and mentally impaired! You are worth much more than the Nirvana School, teacher!"

Lyon smirked hearing those words coming from him. He looked at those burning eyes of Rayus before looking at the others basically permeating the same thing.

(? You might be a mad cultivator with extreme power, but your influence on them is masterclass ) thought King Nyi before he asked Selena with an apologetic tone, "P-Please, can you put your sword away, it's not really comfortable talking with your blade constantly poking my throat."

Selena furrowed her brows before sheathing her sword.

"Thank you," King Nyi bowed his head before darting his glance toward Lyon. "Lyon, perhaps you want to hear my proposal?"

"Huh?" Lyon turned and showed a disinterested face. "You want to scheme or something?"

"Oh please don't say that," said King Nyi. "I'm not like Cae, I'm not a poison master of some sort, besides, I've seen your power, you could kill me anytime you want to with that madness you call power."

"I guess, you're wiser," Lyon smiled. "Fine, but I have tarnished your reputation by killing the king in your presence."

"I know," King Nyi sighed. "However, I perhaps can salvage this one."

"Interesting," Lyon smirked. "What are you going to do?"

King Nyi said, "I know you're strong Lyon, but you won't be living comfortably if you are to be known as the murderer of the ruler in Broken Rose Kingdom."

"Go on."

"People will be cursed behind your back, they might poison your next meal in a random restaurant, who knows?" said King Nyi.

"Alright salesman, get on with it."

"I will take your kill," said King Nyi.

The three students raised their brows in confusion.

"What?" Lyon asked. "You mean you are going to be responsible for Cae's death?"

King Nyi nodded.

Noah furrowed his brows. It wasn't long ago that the king was warning Lyon about the whole order of reputation, however, now he wanted to do just the exact opposite. His nose immediately sniffed a scheme, especially after what he experienced. However, he held his thought and looked at his teacher.

The latter was not just prowess in combat but also other things. He might seem lackluster with the way he walked or the way he talked, yet, he was a master to those who knew him enough. It was his duty to learn whatever Lyon was doing.

"Heh, you just emphasize your reputation in Broken Rose Kingdom or should I say, Second Heaven? Yet now you are going to take the blame for the kill?" Lyon grinned. "Is it me or does that smell like an obvious scheme? Smells so heavy it's like a cat's turd in a living room."

King Nyi blew his nose but held the laugh. He had never heard of such a regime of words before, because he was a king and everyone around him was too formal and scared to offend him. It was a nice change of pace in his everyday life that he had to smile. "Trust me, it's not."

"You suck at this, aren't you?" Lyon shrugged.

King Nyi had his soul stricken as he heard the sudden insult. He was trying to convince a man that managed to detect the poisoning scheme in King Cae's almost flawless execution, with a 'trust me'.

King Nyi made a fake cough, "It's a proposal, Lyon, I hope you don't forget."

"Right, right," said Lyon. "What's in it for me?"

"What? I took the blame for the slain king," said King Nyi in disbelief.

"Yeah, but what else?" asked Lyon as he shrugged. "It's not like I care if an entire kingdom contempt me."

King Nyi lost for words for a second before he shook his head and calmed himself, "If I take the blame, of course, I will be the one contempt by the Broken Rose Kingdom instead of you. However, that's not all, I will be taking the entire kingdom with me."

The three students had their eyes widened. They finally heard the end goal of King Nyi's proposal. The king wanted more land, more resources, and more power. At the end of the day, he was a king.

"Heh, finally show your true intention," said Lyon. "Now I'm getting suspicious of you, King Nyi."

"Me? Why?"

Selena unsheathed her sword and placed it in the exact same position as before.

"Your arrival is too impeccable for me to appreciate," said Lyon. "You came just at the right time after we all have our lunch of that poison, give or take at the activation of it."

King Nyi didn't answer as Lyon continued.

"That's the first one, the second one, you're a king," said Lyon. "It's too rare for a king to visit another king, in the dead of the night."

The three students immediately gained Lyon's insight. It was indeed incredibly rare for a king to meet another king in the dead of the night, and the king was alone as well, as if there are no personal knights accompanying him.

King Nyi smiled wryly, "Honestly Lyon, how did a man like you even exist? I thought you would realize it later at least, not this quick."

( Teacher is right! ) screamed Noah inwardly.

"The question is, are you the real King Nyi? Or an impersonator pretending to be him?" asked Lyon as he approached him with confidence. "Or are you his espionage?"
