Chapter 190: Sky Soul Fruit

Just as Long Chen was about to enter, several kids walked out. They were roughly thirteen or fourteen years old. When they saw Long Chen, they started whispering amongst themselves.
“Who is he? Why is he in the inner family?”
The youths of the inner family were snobbish and hostile to strangers like Long Chen.
“He should be the stepson that Fourth Uncle just brought back. I’ve heard that his name is Long Chen. He’s already sixteen, but he’s only at the initial Earthly Core Realm,” one of the youths said plainly.
“He’s that weak? Let’s play a trick on him.”
“Never mind that. Brother Tianyu is still waiting for us.”
Long Chen ignored their whispering. To him, they were just a bunch of brats.
But some of those brats were already at the mid Earthly Core Realm, so he also thought that they were a bit too talented.
There weren’t a lot of places or people in the Xuanyun Pavilion, and a lot of the rooms and corridors were sealed off. Long Chen walked through the whole building before finding that only one of the doors was open. He entered and found himself in a barren room containing nothing but a chair, and there was a skinny man sitting on it.
“Long Chen?” The skinny man sensed that someone was there and opened his eyes slightly. He immediately recognized Long Chen.
“Greetings, Third Uncle.” It was indeed Xuanxiao’s third brother, Dongfang Xuanyun.
Just as Xuanxiao had said, Dongfang Xuanyun was on good terms with him, so he stood up when Long Chen entered. “Do you need something from the Xuanyun Pavilion?”
“I need to find spiritual herbs that nourish the Divine Soul. Do you have anything like that?” Since Xuanyun had gone straight for business, Long Chen did not start any small talk.

Long Chen had only joined the inner family a day ago, so there weren’t a lot of people he could trust. Dongfang Xuanxiao was the only one so far, but Xuanyun seemed promising. As for Dongfang Xuanyu, Long Chen felt revolted when he thought about her.
Long Chen took the book. He saw there were roughly twenty different kinds of spiritual herbs in stock. Even their effects and price were listed.
“Dream Lingzhi Mushroom, Soul Nourishing Fruit … There’s even Soul Grass. There are many more others …” Long Chen was shocked.
The inner family was not as lively or busy as the outer family, and the Xuanyun Pavilion was not as lavishly decorated as the Treasure Pavilion of the outer family. But the Xuanyun Pavilion easily had ten times more items than the Treasure Pavilion of the outer family.

“The list is sorted according to price, with the most expensive item at the bottom. I wonder what the last herb is called?” He flipped through the pages until he saw the herb listed on the final page, the Sky Soul Fruit.
“Sky Soul Fruit? An advanced Black-tier spiritual herb. Its effect is very close to an Earth-tier spiritual herb, and the Lingwu family only has … one?”
The Sky Soul Fruit was sure to be terrifying. When Long Chen looked at its market price, he almost collapsed from shock.

“The Sky Soul Fruit?” Dongfang Xuanyun gave Long Chen an uneasy look. “I don’t know why you need it, but it’s very expensive …”
“What do I need to do?” Long Chen asked again, his eyes resolute.
