Chapter 3407 Trapped Like A Rat?

Quite some distance away, about four thousand kilometers away in a valley, Davis saw that all the Immortal Emperors were gathered as he caught up to them.

Shortly, Xerax and the three inheritors also arrived, their expressions unsightly.

"What now?"

"Lift the seal on the spatial node and open the exit!"

Xerax roared at the Immortal Emperors.

They had gone to get the necessary core deposited in a secluded treasury far away, so it took some time to meet up, and they couldn't risk leading the spatial menace here, so they could only gather after the Immortal Emperors came with the key here. Still, they were all on the edge, so when Xerax roared at them, they glared daggers at him.

Seeing this, Xerax was about to teach them a lesson, but afraid that their reserved auras would attract the spatial menace, he didn't release his kingly aura, and neither did the others try anything for fear of attracting it.

Soon enough, the two ancestors held the formation core and pushed into the empty space where nothing was present, but then suddenly, a vortex appeared over the core, growing as it consumed it and causing it to shatter.

Then, the spatial vortex quickly began to grow.

*Rumble~*

However, spatial undulations spread throughout the area. The fabric of space around them seemed to distort and wobble as though it could collapse.

Seeing this scene, the Ancestors sighed, knowing this was the result of opening the seal forcefully after they had just closed it earlier this month. They knew that this mini realm they had owned for hundreds and thousands of years was now going to be permanently damaged, leading to its collapse in a few thousand years or even earlier.

For all they knew, its collapse could even be accelerated by the spatial menace inside. They hoped that it would get sliced and crushed by the spatial storms, but seeing its spatial body, they doubted if it could even be killed.

They cast looks of hatred and fear at the Voidslime Realm Eater in the distance and stepped into the spatial vortex to leave.

*Bang!~*

However, the Ancestor who took a step into the spatial vortex was suddenly thrown off, causing him to be sent flying as he tumbled a few times before sitting up, his expression full of shock.

The others also had their eyes widened as they realized something.

"No way… has the destabilization of the mini-realm caused Immortal Emperors to be unable to leave? How can it be…!?" asked the other Ancestor.

Even though he was old, his expression was filled with terror as this meant getting trapped here. However, he was too slow to realize something else or perhaps couldn't care less as he was already trapped here.

*Bang!~*

An inheritor waved his hand, sending a wave of unadulterated energy without using any techniques whatsoever. It was just a mass of cyan light that caused the fellow Immortal Kings who were on the side to be stopped in their tracks when they also tried to shoot towards the spatial vortex, causing everyone who tried to race to the exit to be sent flying.

"Bastard!"

Xerax roared at that inheritor who screwed them all over. If Immortal Emperors were disallowed to leave, then it was highly possible that they, Immortal Kings, might be disallowed to leave as well, but if they were still allowed, perhaps it might only take one or two before collapsing in and on itself.

After all, the mini-realm was highly unstable at the moment!

Davis was about to make a move but watched them fight amongst themselves.

They sure were a good family.

But as he saw that inheritor step into that spatial vortex, he didn't seem to be worried.

'Oh well, if anyone manages to escape, I'll take care of them on the other side…' he thought.

However, his worries were unfounded as he saw that the inheritor made his way halfway through the spatial vortex before he abruptly came to a stop. He seemed to stretch his hands and roar, but everything was silent as he saw him be sliced and diced to pieces by spatial blades and explode into a mass of flesh.

"What!?" roared Youil in shock.

The others also looked dumbfounded. They were already angered, but seeing that treacherous yet powerful inheritor die, reality hit them.

Even Immortal Kings were unable to pass through this spatial vortex!

But why!? It didn't make sense to them. Even if it was an unstable path, it shouldn't be this dangerous!

"…"

However, Davis shook his head at them pitifully because he knew the answer.

Back near the Voidslime Realm Eater, he saw it abandon going after the many lives and instead latch onto the space once it sensed the destabilizing mini-realm. To his surprise and horror, it began feeding on the mini-realm, but with its ability to forcefully stabilize the space by disallowing cracks or fissures to appear so that it could absorb space like it was eating fabric, it began stabilizing the entire realm.

It created a strange dynamic where the exit, the spatial vortex that was now unsealed but was extremely difficult to traverse for Immortal Kings, while Immortal Emperors were completely disallowed from entering or leaving.

'Hmm… would Stella be able to enter…?'

Davis wondered, but seeing these rats get trapped in their own cave, his expression was full of disdain.

He saw Youil try to leave as he prepared himself for the arduous journey, but the spatial vortex's limit became even worse as even Immortal Kings were unable to step into the spatial vortex. He was sent flying the same as that Ancestor who was first took the hit.

Davis's lips curled. He didn't seem to be worried as he knew nothing could be done unless he or the others went ahead and disrupted the Voidslime Realm Eater's eating session. However, were the others brave or powerful enough to do that?

Davis could only laugh as he saw these sore losers try to wrack their brains out for a way out. He had the urge to slap them into meat paste, but looking at their solemn yet frightened expressions also soothed his heart because when he thought about how they made his family feel with their hunt for his weakness, he knew even multiple deaths weren't enough to relieve them of that crime.

Nonetheless, with this mini realm unsealed, he had his connection to the outside world restored.
