Davis's gaze became solemn as he firmly held Isabella's shoulders, "Don't you dare exchange yourself with anyone, even if it for our own daughter— although that could be debated depending upon the danger of the hostage exchange."

Isabella's heart felt warm as he didn't even bother asking why, but she went speechless as she heard him tell him not to exchange herself for their own daughter. So he could sacrifice himself for their children but not her? That made her face change as she became incensed.
She didn't want this privilege, but not wanting to aggravate him, she simply looked away and nodded her head.
"…?" Davis was confused by her reaction.
"Darling, I had an exotic dish ready for you, but Katherine ate it," Fiora said.

Katherine's eyes moved here and there, panic visible.

Davis's eyes went wide as he saw his pearls having grown a bit taller. He reached out his hands, capturing them with an embrace, causing them to giggle.
"You fulfilled your promise!"
"You came back soon!"
The two of them kissed his cheek from both sides, causing him to chuckle.
"Good children. Of course, your father never lies, but- I want to talk to your first mother quickly. Will you two take Aurelia and give us some space?"
Celestia appeared troubled, "But… mother told me not to leave first mother."
"Celestia, we're not supposed to say that…"
Eterna quickly whispered, causing Celestia to close her mouth with her small palm.
Davis's lips almost faintly curved into a smile, but he lowered them and took Aurelia from Evelynn's hands, placing a kiss on the sleeping baby before giving it to Celestia, who opened her mouth, looking speechless as she subconsciously took the child.
She appeared to be careful, not wanting to drop Aurelia.
The room was silent, and Davis turned to look at Evelynn, who had a calm expression although she didn't dare to meet his gaze. His gaze was not on her face but on her bulging abdomen, which made his heart shaken.
He knew she spent a lot of time in time chambers to hasten giving birth, and he imagined she was almost due in one or two months. However-
Davis turned around as he sat beside her, wrapping one of his arms around her neck and using the other hand to touch her swollen stomach.
"How many…?"
"One year left, but in the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace's time chamber, that would be one month…" Evelynn's voice was soft.

Davis's voice was gentle as well, causing Evelynn's gaze to shudder. Her lips couldn't help but curl with warmth.

She was extremely moved right now by the trust he held in her as she knew she had succeeded in the treatment, but it somehow failed, greatly puzzling her. However, could she claim innocence when the result in the end was that it failed?
