Chapter 3248 Returning Home

After getting out of the Calamitous Land of Ruin outside the underground cave, Davis headed straight to the Aurora Cloud Gate with his people. He briefly met with the entourage of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, Golden Crow Clan, and the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan, so he parted with everyone else, only remaining with his people, although Cyclonis Blizzara, Xerna Zenflame, Zora Luan, Nyoran, Niel Bladeheart and Garoe Rynn followed him.

Fairy Thunderblaze left alone, making him wonder if she would be fine as there were murderous assassins flying around, but considering her stature, he imagined she would be fine on her own. He didn't know she was shortly taken away by the Bloodcloud Family's current Ancestor and not her trump card, the Bloodcloud Family's Founder.

Halfway through, Davis's anticipation receded, and he remembered he had exiled himself from the Aurora Cloud Gate, causing him to purse his lips.

'Guess I'll wait outside the Domain to see them…'

He didn't want to be so shameless enough to step into the Aurora Cloud Gate again, as there was a limit to how much of an advantage he could take of their kindness. Regardless, he wanted to see his people, so he was thinking of establishing his own power nearby.

'The Fire Phoenix Clan's Prefecture is the nearest Prefecture… what if I just take over it…?'

Davis's lips curled into a wicked smirk. The Fire Phoenix Clan had two Prefectures, so he didn't mind punishing them with only one Prefecture, although he was planning to take their most prized Prefecture.

"What bad things are you thinking?" Sophie noticed his smirk and curiously asked.

"Our sisters are going to be so happy when they see you." Tina held her cheeks, appearing delighted beyond compare to be back in this world.

The sensation of threat or risk was fully watered down, making her want to dance like a little fairy going out into the world for the first time.

"Actually, why did you not say anything to Fairy Aila Cherryweave and Fairy Mei Novara? Perhaps, with a bit of push, they would've been yours."

Davis's lips parted in shock as he turned to look at Myria, never expecting her to ask him a question.

"I don't understand the intricacies behind your romantic encounters, so it would be helpful if you could… make me understand."

Myria felt the searing stare and couldn't help but look away, her ears turning red.

On the other hand, Sophie and the others were dumbfounded, not having expected Myria to ask something like that, as they felt she would still be aloof. Well, she was still aloof, but they didn't expect her to go out of her way to join their silly conversations that made their day.

Davis blinked at Myria. Usually, she would say that she wanted no part in it, but now, she was trying to adjust, perhaps trying to know more about him actively. He smilingly looked ahead, opening his mouth.

"The feelings they have for me, although genuine, may be nothing more than a feeling of anxiety. They may want to chase a chaotic man like me for the excitement that they rarely have in their lives."

"You really think that?" Bylai questioned with narrowed eyes.

"…"

Her piercing gaze caused Davis to blink as he knew he was downplaying their feelings, causing him to sigh.

"No, but I care about them since they're good women. If they don't have enough determination like you and the others, then they should just stay away from me. Besides, I first want to see Evelynn and the others, so spare me."

"Ah, the Emperor of Death is cruel~"

"Heartless man!"

"Brat, you don't know what's good for you!"

Sophie shook her head, causing Bylai and Tina to echo as they tried to bully him while Lea merely watched like a mother figure, smiling gently. Within them, there was no one who said they didn't want the Celestial Fairies with them; in fact, they were almost on the level of treating them as sisters as they imagined Davis would eat them, but he didn't, leaving them actually surprised.

Despite what they said, they were prideful of him for not easily accepting the Celestial Fairies, having his own concerns, and caring about them like a responsible man, the man they always loved.

Davis's lips were wide like a bright sun, but the brightness slowly receded as he wondered if Evelynn and the others were all doing fine.

The Starlight Jade Wolf King's entourage and the others appeared strangely solemn. The Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan's entourage was particularly emotional as they saw him return, their eyes gleaming with only more worship, but they didn't say anything other than there was a surprise waiting for him back at home.

His hand was itching to use the messaging talisman but eventually, he arrived near the Aurora Cloud Gate's border, looking into the distance, awaiting his loved ones.

Soon, Tanya appeared in his vision, causing him to smile. Sophie and the others just raised their hands when Davis suddenly dashed towards her, appearing in front of her in an instant that caused the defenseless Tanya to turn shocked.

When she realized what had happened, she was being held dearly. Warmth swelled over her heart, wanting to spend more time with him for the time that was lost, but instead of a smile, she bit her lips, not knowing how to break the news to him when he was this excited and full of longing.

"Tanya…"

Davis gently whispered as he slid his face over her cheek, connecting with her sweet lips as the veil moved under his sway.

However, he pulled his head back, "Have I done something wrong again?"

He softly asked as he couldn't feel the same longing from her lips, causing her eyelids to quiver.

"No, I…"

Tanya stepped forward, tightly hugging him as she placed her head on his chest.

"Husband, please forgive us. Something has gone wrong with Clara and Tia."

"…!?"

Davis felt his heart sink, the voice of that mysterious black-robed woman ringing in his ears, although he couldn't even tell the content anymore. Nonetheless, he maintained his calm, especially in this situation that required his calm, as he raised Tanya's chin, making her look at him.

"What's wrong?"

Tanya's lips quivered as she could feel his aura shimmer, exuding immense pressure without it even having to be undulated. Regardless, she opened her mouth, quickly telling him everything she knew about Evelynn's treatment of Clara.

"…"

Davis had his eyes narrowed for quite a while.

He knew Evelynn wouldn't come here to visit him for the most part as she was pregnant, but he never imagined that instead of resting as he said, she tried Hex Laws on Clara to cure her, making their paradise fall by herself...?

'This… was this why that mysterious black-robed woman said something about Evelynn…?'

Davis racked his brains before wanting to ask the most reliable person who wasn't affected by any karmic burden as far as he knew.

"Fallen Heaven, do you have any idea what that black-robed woman who barred our path said about Evelynn?" He asked his apex treasure.

"…"

However, there was no response, prompting him to ask again.

"Fallen Heaven?"

"How dare you use me when the heavens are present directly above us!? How many times have I told you to be cautious!? I thought… I was going to die…"

Came a booming voice from his soul sea, causing him to feel dizzy as he could feel its anger.

"Husband…!"

However, Tanya hurriedly grabbed him from falling, misunderstanding that his mind rumbled from suppressing his anger too much, causing him to lose his footing.
