Chapter 3205 Beast Tamers

Davis flicked his sleeve and caused the ice star lance to stop melting as his annihilative energy dispersed into thin air. He cast a closer look at these two men.

The first man wore the white half of his robe on the right side and the black on the left.

The white portion was adorned with intricate silver embroidery that formed delicate patterns of swirling vines and flowers. It was as if a master craftsman had woven moonlight into the fabric. The black half of his robe, in contrast, seemed almost like a canvas for his accessories. He wore a wide black sash around his waist, cinched with an ornate obsidian buckle that glistened with tiny, sparkling gemstones.

His hands were concealed by white gloves, which made Davis honestly wonder how many talismans or exploding jade stones these guys had, especially those hidden within their clothes.

The same could be said about the other man.

The second man's attire was the inverse of the first.

His left side was adorned in a pristine white robe embroidered with intricate patterns in gold thread, evoking the brilliance of the sun. His right side was the epitome of darkness, featuring black fabric that seemed to absorb the very light around it. He wore a black silk scarf with silver tassels draped loosely around his neck, contrasting beautifully with the white robe. His hands were encased in black gloves that extended all the way to his elbows, creating a sense of mystery about his intentions.

Amidst their swaying sleeves, he could see runic inscriptions cast upon their gloves, which might also contain all kinds of offensive or defensive measures. Not only one of these two seemed to be a formation expert, but the other could also be a runemaster.

Either way, he saw that these two had the same facial features, which meant they were twins.

"Name yourselves."

Davis raised his brows, causing the twins to open their mouths.

"Knox Ransell."

"Knoll Ransell."

Their voices resounded with some anxiety, but Davis's lips curled in contemplation, knowing that the Ransell Family was not the main family in the Beast Autarch Upper Realm. He also knew the Beast Autarch Upper Realm was quite lawless but not as much as the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm. However, he wasn't interested in their hierarchy or politics but in their techniques.

At a glance, they seemed quite harmless and even cowardly by equipping so many talismans and strange rocks with different properties, which any cultivator would frown upon, but in the end, their main way of fighting wasn't close quarters or ranged but sending hundreds of beasts to fight for them.

But they wouldn't hand over their techniques just because he asked for them, right?

He doubted he could even obtain them from their memories since most of them from the Upper Realms seemed to have a faint seal placed upon their memories.

With that being the case-

"How many beasts could you two summon to fight for you?" Davis began asking for more information.

"Why should we answer you?"

However, he was quickly met with an impertinent question, causing him to narrow his brows.

This person was clad in black on the left and white on the right, the same person who asked him if he was insolent and dared to interfere in their hunt.

"Knoll…"

The other man raised his hand, causing Knoll to look at him with a somber expression.

"Big brother, we don't have to listen to this person. He's not even a person. He's just an Anarchic Divergent who is fated to die underneath the hea-"

"Shut up!"

Knox Ransell coldly berated him before turning to look at Davis as he cupped his hands.

"My little brother doesn't know how the world operates, so he was blinded by the justice in his heart. Please excuse him so we can come to a deal where we can both triumph with benefits."

Davis stared at them, except his thoughts weren't in this space.

He was thinking about how the souls of beast tamers worked.

The structure was similar to immortals and transcendents, but they trained in a Soul Forging Cultivation method that encases their soul sea in various kinds of nodes, and within these nodes existed those beasts or spirits they tamed.

For example, he had Nadia, Everlight, Eldia and Katherine in his soul sea.

The shelters where they remained were not nodes but spaces created to accommodate them specifically.

He could carry many of these entities as long as his soul had the capacity to contain them. If they grew more powerful than him, then it would be difficult for them to stay within him unless otherwise, they willingly restricted their cultivation base and let him contain them, but that required a phenomenal trust and not something that beast tamers would have with their constant use and replenishment of beasts which they forsake because it couldn't keep up with them.

That's why beast-taming arts existed that would create a fixed number of nodes and spread their holding capacity evenly or more to specific nodes within their soul sea, allowing beast tamers to contain multiple beasts or spirits as they make pacts with them, even forceful ones like the one they tried to do to the Moltenscale Dragon if he wasn't present.

Since these pacts were mostly forceful, like slave seals, they tended to restrict the tamed beast's growth and cast many restrictions upon them, disallowing them from harming the owner's soul sea if they could break out. On this note, his beast-taming art was different, where Nadia, Eldia, Katherine and Everlight could harm him from within if they so much as wanted to rebel, although he was still warned if they had such thoughts.

They could also leave anytime they wanted as long as he agreed.

But with the beast-taming arts these people used, there was no escape unless the tamer was willing to let go of them, and even if there was a chance to escape, not only would the tamer get warnings, but they could also kill their tamed beasts at a moment's notice.

"Alright. Answer my question then."

Davis came out of his reverie and gestured them to continue.

"Yes."

Despite Knoll Ransell appearing offended, the elder brother Knox Ransell continued with an indifferent expression.

"At our current level, we can hold eighty beasts at Peak Immortal King Stage, eighteen beasts at Early Immortal Emperor Stage, eight beasts at Mid Immortal Emperor Stage, and two beasts at Late Immortal Emperor Stage."

"…!"

Davis raised his brows in astonishment.

Could they actually tame two Late Immortal Emperor Stage Beasts? Then wouldn't they be able to lord over every genius in this realm? Even threatening him wouldn't be a dream. But on second thought, he knew there must be some type of restrictions on taming two Late Immortal Emperor Stage beasts.

"To tame two Late Immortal Emperor Stage Beasts, you must let go of the other hundred beasts, no?"

Davis asked, causing Knox Ransell's brows to twitch.

"Impressive. I heard the Emperor of Death is from an ancient world, so I didn't expect for you to know some secrets. Are there any beast-taming arts similar to ours?"

He finally had a smile on his face, making Davis's lips also curl.

"Unfortunately, beast taming is rare from the place I came from because someone decided to keep the peace that not many beast-taming arts were preserved, making them quite scarce and degrade with time as people dabbled and destroyed them except a few sects whom I don't know anything about."

Davis shook his head, turning to look at the Moltenscale Dragon that started struggling again as it knew that it could break out the ice that had mostly melted. He descended, appearing closer to it as he boldly patted its dragon head, its bloodshot eyes moving as it glared at him.

"Don't patronize me, as I know that discarding other beasts and making space isn't the only restriction to tame a beast of this level. Now, you obviously know what I want. Will you give it to me in exchange for this dragon, or should I take it from you?
