Evelynn looked into the distance, appearing to await something.

Tanya and the others also had no idea why Evelynn chose to stay, but they awaited her words. If she insisted on departing to save their father-in-law's life, then they were determined to do it.

Isabella also came back to her senses, but this time around, she felt ready to stake her life.

'Before, I didn't have the opportunity to use it before, but this time…'

Isabella inwardly made up her mind as her black eyes flashed with a firm gleam. If she had the opportunity to save her father-in-law, then she felt compelled to use it, one that might sacrifice her own life, yet it required time and focus on activating, which she didn't have before as she got overwhelmed by Malediction Laws.

Now that Tanya and Lereza were beside her and could buy her some time, she knew she had enough time to unleash a fatal attack stemming from her inheritance.

She knew if she couldn't save father-in-law, at least killing that bastard should give her sisters some peace. More than anything, she came forward and touched Evelynn's stomach with fondness.

"Evelynn, you don't need to go. Leave this to me. This time… I promise…"

*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*

Just as Isabella was firmly trying to convince Evelynn not to make the decision to leave, two figures abruptly appeared before her.

Guardian Ryheris Yilan's eyes flickered. However, sensing the familiarity of the undulations, he smirked lightly in response.

"If it isn't the famous Bladeheart couple…"

"Greetings, Guardian Ryheris Yilan."

Cien Bladeheart cupped his hands, "I've had the honor of meeting you once. To think that I would be blessed twice."

"Aha, it's not a big deal."

Guardian Ryheris Yilan waved his hand, "What brings you two here? If it's your son, then he left for the secret realm."

"Of course. We know. We watched him leave before departing, but after we almost reached our home, we received an emergency message from the Emperor of Death's first wife and responded to it. Are we late?"

Cien Bladeheart turned to look at the ladies, "Which one of you is the Hex Demoness?"

Evelynn appeared more than dumbfounded. She gestured to the distance with her finger and then pointed at them, appearing confused beyond compare before realization hit her.

"Lost… all is lost. We were too late…"

Her voice seethed with tremor, not knowing what kind of suffering her father-in-law was going through.

She could swear that she relayed the info that the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan was on their way to the Aurora Cloud Gate in a straight line from the Ascendance Monuments, but it seemed like the Bladeheart couple that Davis somehow managed to owe a favor from them didn't go there but came here first.

There was no way she could possibly berate the Bladeheart couple, but she didn't know what to say to Davis either, as she could imagine his pain, causing her to feel intensely remorseful. Now, she felt how Isabella felt.

Their actions were in vain.

Turning around, she wanted to console Clara, who seemed silent beyond compare.

*Whoosh!~*

But suddenly, a palanquin appeared mid-air, causing every lady present to flinch.

"Father!"

Clara's eyes widened as she screamed out loud.

*Bzzz!~*

For a moment, her purple eyes activated, covering the entire region that stunned Guardian Ryheris Yilan and the Bladehearts.

Evelynn and the others were also stupefied before they saw Clara pounce toward the palanquin and appear before Logan.

"Father! Father… are you alright?"

"…"

Logan's eyelids fluttered as he opened his eyes weakly, his expression churning as his soul throbbed in pain. However, the moment he laid his eyes on the blonde-haired beauty whose purple eyes were flashing yet full of worry for him, his grim face turned into a light smile.

"Clara, my dear… it's you…"

"Father… I… I…"

"I know. It's unlike you to be crying at this age, Clara… After all, when was the last time I've seen you cry? You're a big girl now, so don't cry. Don't worr-"

Logan's lips couldn't help but quiver as he raised his hand, which seemed to have somewhat regenerated as he caressed her cheek before his hand dropped, causing Clara to flinch in shock before she hurriedly checked on him.

However, she sensed that he was still alive, causing her rapidly beating heart to calm down.

"Quick! Father needs treatment!" She turned around and gazed at Evelynn and the others, finally causing them to move.

Isabella quickly appeared before Logan, trying to carry the palanquin while Tanya took the side. However, a firm voice resounded out.

"That won't be required."

They turned to look at Cien Bladeheart, wondering why he would stop them.

"He needs time as he is in the junction of healing. However, make sure to get someone like Guardian Ryheris Yilan to treat his soul and look for anomalies, as we're not capable of treating curses that stem from Malediction Laws."

"Is he…?" Evelynn narrowed her eyes while the hearts of the others shook.

However, Cien Bladeheart shook his head.

"We don't know, but the healing pill apparently seemed to be fed by your enemy, so I would be careful if I were you."

"I see."

Evelynn uttered as she nodded contemplatively.

It only took two seconds for her to act.

"Guardian Ryheris Yilan, forgive my rudeness, but I'll trouble you to let us meet Saintess Lunaria."

ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm "…!?"

This time, Cien Bladeheart and Cynthia Bladeheart were shocked, their minds being hit by thousands of lightning bolts. They had heard of this name more than a thousand times, but in the end, it was only a legend from ancient times. But this woman, the Emperor of Death's first wife, was demanding to meet Saintess Lunaria as though she was still here in this day and age.

To their additional shock, Guardian Ryheris Yilan appeared troubled.

"You cannot state our secrets out like that, but considering the situation, I will consider-"

Evelynn took out a status plate, causing Guardian Ryheris Yilan's eyes to widen in astonishment.

Had the Saintess personally given this to her?

He couldn't help but wonder before nodding his head and gesturing.

"As you please."

Evelynn and the others took away their father-in-law with them.

"…"

The Bladehearts could only watch them leave for a long time before turning to look at each other in visible shock.

They were already the utmost existence here, but there were still secrets like these unknown to them!?

Back in the Aurora Cloud Gate's headquarters, Evelynn and the others entered the sect through a secret passageway and made their way straight to the teleportation formation, which led to Saintess Lunaria's palace.

Once they arrived there, they thought that they would have to wait, but Saintess Lunaria quickly arrived, her brows frowning.

"My apologies. I was not aware of the situation as I was in seclusion."

"Please don't apologize. Saintess only vouched for our protection within the Aurora Cloud Gate."

"…"

Saintess Lunaria gazed at Evelynn lightly, knowing that she wasn't saying that just for politeness, causing her to smile.

"Let me see. Oh? This is the Emperor of- not. Who is this?"

"It's his father who has just ascended but was captured by an enemy who could use Malediction Laws. Saintess Lunaria, please see if father-in-law could be completely healed to health while also checking for any anomalies that may have stemmed from karmic curses. If there is any, please remove them."

"Leave it to me."

Saintess Lunaria nodded to Evelynn's plea.

She reached out her frail hand towards Logan, allowing her alabaster-like palm to hover above as life energy began to flow down on him.

At the same time, a strand of her soul force entered Logan's defenseless soul sea, life energy sweeping all over along with her senses.
