Nyoran didn't know how to react to Davis's speculation as she stood stumped, looking at him with wide eyes.

Didn't he just appear at that time and manage to cut Meili's arm before recognizing her? How could his senses be so sharp that he knew she could resist King-Tier's undulations if she truly tried at that minute moment was beyond her!

Closing her eyes, she sighed ever so lightly.

"You truly live up to your name, Emperor of Death. I'll start by saying that I'm a variant that has never been recorded in scrolls or inherited memories of the Ghostly Crow Clan, so my variance is unnamed."

Opening her eyes, her white eyes glistened with a purple sparkle before she became transparent, causing Davis's eyes to widen as he saw the walls behind her. It didn't seem to be an illusion, causing him to stand up and wave his hand through her face.

It passed through her just like that, causing him to gawk.

"You… you're not here, are you?"

"All Ghostly Crows hide in the shadows just like a Dark Moon Crow, and even in the light, we can conceal ourselves, especially in the moonlight that gives us more dominion, but I… I can phase through space, allowing me to temporarily negate all kinds of attacks thrown at me."

"No fucking way… this is not spatial displacement."

Davis heavily frowned before he realized, "Ah- excuse my manners, but I think your power is far more than spatial displacement."

"What do you mean?"

Nyoran blinked. As far as she knew, this was spatial displacement.

Davis didn't reply but raised his hand and used his martial immortal energy. Spatial undulations burst forth, shocking Nyoran as she realized he was attacking, but due to the sudden attack, she was unable to react, and by the time she saw space visibly twisting around her, her heart sank, thinking that she was going to be split apart.

However, the fate she expected didn't come.

"Wha- What…?"

She looked at the space inside and around her body, warping and twisting, yet her image stood still like it was ever-present.

Davis lowered his hand, shock visible on his face.

"I just tried to warp space on your level, but you're still standing here unharmed. That certainly isn't spatial displacement."

"What… then what is it…?"

Nyoran's pale face became even more pale. If this wasn't spatial displacement, her knowledge about her own powers crumbled right before her eyes. She genuinely wanted to know, looking at Davis for advice. However, he remained silent, appearing to be deep in contemplation.

Indeed, Davis was in too much shock to make sense of her powers. But a few seconds later, he presumed that she could hide in deep layers of space like she existed in the Second Layer while still being in the Third Layer, but he rejected it as soon as he realized that this feat was impossible.

If the layers of space were so easy to slip, then many would be able to do it, and this was the true immortal world where space was firm and stable. He was sure that there was no way an Immortal King existence would be able to slip into the deep layers of space, at the very least.

'Could it be other than layers of space, there are multiple dimensions…? She's phasing through dimensions!?'

Abruptly, Davis made a bold speculation, one that he himself didn't dare to believe.

He had never heard of such a thing as multiple dimensions being present in the Three-Layered Universe, at least, not from the lifeforms he soulscoured.

Perhaps, if he asked Myria, he might know whether his speculation could be true or not. However, he didn't want to disturb he was suddenly feeling eerie, as though he was carrying mountains on his shoulders right now.

'Fuck… this feeling… karmic burden is going to fall on me if I open my mouth… and there's vertigo…'

Davis held his head, experiencing the same emotion when he tried to kill Eiren. It was possible that a hole would be made in fate if he were to speak about this matter, causing the flow of fate to be interrupted and have adverse effects on him or the people around him.

His instincts attuned to the elusive and ethereal tapestry of fate were warning him not to reveal anything.

"You… what kind of variant are you? What's your tribulations like?"

When Davis raised his head and saw Nyoran, he saw that she was breathing heavily.

"What- are you alright?"

He reached out his hand, wanting to check her as he saw her look exhausted, full of perspiration. However, Nyoran quickly raised her hand, stopping him as she opened her mouth.

"I'm fine. Using this power takes an extreme toll on me, using up fifty percent of my energy just like that. Besides, I can only maintain this for five breaths."

"I see. But is it fine for you to reveal your weakness just like that?"

Davis remained astonished, but he couldn't understand why she would reveal such an important thing that concerns her life.

Nyoran also appeared speechless before she clenched her fists and shook.

"I… I believe you. You're a human who can keep his word and would not harm me."

"You think of me far too highly."

Davis couldn't help but chuckle, shaking his head.

"So, did you realize what my power is?"

"Hmm. I'm not sure, but you said your variance concerns the secrets of the Ghostly Crow Clan, right?"

"Well, it does."

Nyoran pursed her lips, appearing contemplative as her eyes looked left and right before turning to look back at the cave. Figuring that no one was watching, she moved closer to Davis as far as she could to decrease the chances of being heard before she sent him a soul transmission.

"It's said that this technique is a last resort for an Emperor-Tier Ghostly Crow. Once they used this technique, it seemed that they would disappear for a few years and reappear in the same place without any memories. I implore you to not reveal this to anybody."

"What the… this is like being spirited away…"

Davis turned to look at her, causing Nyoran to freeze as their lips were so close.

"What's spirited away…?" She mechanically asked.

"Taken away by a ghost to the underworld."

"A ghost!?"

"…"

Nyoran flinched as she retreated, causing Davis to become speechless.

"What are you doing being afraid of ghosts when you're a Ghostly Crow?"

"Our names are reflective of our nature and ability, but we're not ghosts~"

Nyoran protested, her ears turning red. She appeared to be embarrassed a lot, causing Davis to nod in satisfaction, although he hoped that she would understand the meaning behind his words. If it was truly phasing through another dimension, then he felt like he gave an apt example.

Nyoran seemed to have turned around, appearing to reclaim her normal self before she turned to look at him with a solemn gaze in her white eyes.

"But it's as you expected. Some variants end up shouldering the ire of the heavens, and I'm one of them. In human terms, I'm a Divergent. I also have a lot of opposing individuals in the clan seeking my death as I threaten their future. Therefore, I'm sent here as a gamble, a gamble that Queen Nadija and her supporters made on me to help her secure the position of the Matriarch."
