Dark clouds loomed ominously, echoing with the rumblings of thunder.

High above the hills, with a vast basin stretching out below, filled with powerful lightning strikes falling from the skies.

However, the bottom of the basin was obscured, as was the opposite side of the mountain. In the distance, numerous peaks came into view. Many of these peaks appeared scorched or damaged, their surfaces bearing the remnants of heavenly lightning tribulations.

But at this moment, there was an uninvited observer outside this region.

The observer marveled at the sight, recognizing the destructive aura of the heavenly tribulations that enveloped the mountain peaks. They knew that if they were to venture further, it would mean danger in many ways.

However, they grinned, seemingly having found what they had come for.

"Ah… so many signs of divergence in this area… what… what would happen if I end up using them all…? Ahehahehe~"

A maniacal voice, along with a creepy laugh, radiated from this person, a man.

He seemed to be clad in violet robes made up of luxurious fabric while bearing numerous crimson patterns and designs that didn't bore well about him as they were full of different types of skulls. His face carried a sharp, intense feature, with piercing white pupils over black eyeballs that seemed to radiate a glint of madness.

Long, unkempt green hair cascaded down his back, adding to his wild and enigmatic appearance, but overall, his countenance exuded an air of unpredictability.

"No wonder that creep said to go mad here… but what if it backfires on me- ah~ I don't care even if it does…. Ehehe~"

He took out something. It appeared to resemble a disc, emanating some kind of captivating yet foreboding aura. Within a second, he threw it towards the mountains, where lightning kept raining without a stop.

The disc flew spinning before it abruptly came to a stop, glowing with a bright yet dark light.

The man watched this happen with a crazy expression, his veins erupting in every part of his body as though he couldn't get enough. Two seconds later, the light receded.

"Huh…? Nothing happened…?"

Ten seconds… he waited.

Twenty, thirty… a whole minute… he continued to wait.

But recognizing that nothing was going to happen, his expression turned into a scowl.

"I should've known not to trust that retarded enchanter to give me a show, especially when he only has eyes for the myriad of essences in the universe…"

He turned around, looking away, but then his gaze flickered, noticing a wild, voluptuous beauty appear in his gaze.

"You…"

His jaw literally dropped, and he looked at her as though he was appraising a treasure.

"Who are you?"

The woman asked with a melodious voice. She wore a purple robe and possessed an elegant countenance.

"Unbelievable…" He suddenly grabbed his head, his pupils dilating, "To think that a Void Dust Tree of this quality exists here…! You must have at least gone through eight-no, nine cycles of your life. No way! You created another Void Dust Tree, didn't you!?"

He gasped as he exclaimed.

"Oh no~ Oh my~ I want to tame you!"

He went crazy, dancing around like a fool, which caused Wix Voidfield's eyes to narrow. Her lips pursed behind her veil, unable to tell who this person was who seemed to know about the characteristics of a Void Dust Tree, but she opened her mouth.

"I see. You must be someone from the true immortal world. Then you must also know you outsiders aren't quite welcome here…"

"Ahhh~ I can't decide… I can only leave with one… you… or that never before seen death-attribute wolf that had gone extinct…"

"No…! I can't decide…. I want you both…!"

He dragged his face down, his nails sinking deep into his face as blood spurted out.

Looking at this scene, Wix Voidfield frowned, thinking that he had either lost his mind or was thoroughly a madman, but the next moment, her pupils dilated.

The same happened to that madman, his lips curling into a wide grin as he saw a space between them crack.

========

*Rumble!~*

Outside the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan's Main City, numerous people turned shocked as they saw the clouds change colors, becoming dark and condensed as lightning began to swim above like snakes.

*Bang!~*

Lightning plunged from the skies, but it hit the city-wide barrier, unable to penetrate.

Nonetheless, people were shocked by what was happening.

*Whoosh!~*

Inside the palace, many arrived before a hall where the Starlight Jade Wolf King and the others were located. They learned that the three were meeting with the Emperor of Death.

"What's going on? Why has the weather changed above us? It even has an ominous scent to it."

"Has the heaven's curse finally fallen on us?"

"Shut up! This is not even heavenly lightning!"

The Grand Elders bickered but suddenly went silent as the two Ancestors appeared. They were given away as they stood before the door, appearing hesitant as they didn't know if they should intervene or not, especially as they could've sworn they sensed energies flaring inside.

However, it could merely be a spar, and it would be stupid of them to make a big fuss over it.

But- their hearts chilled once they heard a scream.

"No! Our second inheritor's life jade has broken!"

"What!?"

*Bang!~*

The Grand Elders roared, but the Ancestors no longer hesitated and smashed through the giant doors of the room.

They quickly appeared inside, only to see their King caught in the tails of a pitch-black wolf. But the next moment, they saw the tails recede away from their King while he absentmindedly walked over to a woman lying on the floor.

"…!"

Their pupils dilated as they saw it was none other than their second inheritor, her face covered with blood while her eyes were nowhere to be seen.

Raising their gaze, they were just about to point at the Emperor of Death in the distance when they suddenly heard a strange cough.

*Pui~*

Renfa Jadelight sat up as she spat a mouthful of blood. Her hands instantly went to her head as she covered her eyes as the pain overwhelmed her mind. Her mind was a mess, but she could feel that her eyeballs were missing.

But abruptly, she sensed two arms wrap around her in an embrace, causing her chaotic mind to be soothed by warmth.

This embrace… this aura… she remembered it. It was the man she fell for.

"Renfa…?"

"I… I'm sorry."

Renfa Jadelight pursed her lips as tears of blood leaked from her empty eye sockets. Her lips quivered, knowing that she had committed something unforgivable.
