Chapter 85: Operation Start (1)
"Mr. Zhang, where did you get this thing?" Captain Hu asked.
"It was in my possession all along, but I had no idea until I answered the terrorist's call with Inspector Loong from the Southern District's Police Station. It didn't cross my mind that this was what they're looking for." Zhang Qin Feng answered.
Although he's not lying, he didn't speak out all the truth either.
"What is the deadline they gave you?" the captain continues to inquire. At this point, any information could help them to prevent this terrorist attack from happening. That includes speech, meeting point, date, and names.
"As soon as possible. But the caller did threaten me to not take more than a week to find that thing for them." Zhang Qin Feng answered.
"Not more than a week… That means the terrorist's plan might be one of the events from this week to the next few weeks. Something related to the Country of Horusian Republic…" Captain Hu started to ponder.
"Captain. If you want to ponder, make it after tonight's operation. For now, we have something to do." Zhang Qin Feng's words surprised him even further.
"What? Today? I am not informed that we will move out tonight. I'm not sure if everyone was ready." Captain Hu turned his head to the others. Like him, there's a confused look on their face because no one expected to be deployed right away after gathering together.
"Don't worry. This is just a quick practice. We'll have to get used to our equipment too, right?" Zhang Qin Feng said. Putting on the Phalanx X-02 and the protective vest on him, he added a piece of balaclava to cover his identity.
"I'll be waiting for all of you inside the closed factory across the street. Get dressed up. You can leave the shutter as it is. Our mission will be a quick in and out. It will finish in less than 20 minutes." Zhang Qin Feng pulled the shutter about fifty meters up and rolled out of the mining facility.
He makes a sprint towards the designated spot as soon as he gets on his feet.
"Get ready in one minute. Our destination is the door across the street near the roundabout. Move on!" Captain Hu quickly put the vest on and checked if the five pistols on the table are loaded with live bullets.
'Not bad… If the five of them were with me in the post-apocalypse, getting a few hundred Duranium Shard won't be a problem.' Zhang Qin Feng chuckled as he monitored them while they're coming to him.
After the five gathered around him, Zhang Qin Feng continued.
"Inside the factory, to the end. Search for your own entry point and exit point. We'll get back into a group near a broken drinking fountain." Zhang Qin Feng said.
Making a jump on the wall, he shows them how his entry was done as he slipped into the factory building through the ventilation window almost three meters above them.
"The hell? Is he a lizard?" the four elite soldiers dropped their jaw as they see how Zhang Qin Feng escaped from their sight. But they have no time to lose because the operation has started. Everyone started to search for their own entry point as they dispersed.
Only Captain Hu tried to copy what Zhang Qin Feng just did. Using a few cracks on the wall as his stepping point, the captain used the entry same as Zhang Qin Feng and noticed that it was much riskier than the one on the ground.
The scaffolding seems to be quite an unstable one.
'Challenging us? I'll let you know it is a mistake to underestimate us." Captain Hu grinned and chased after Zhang Qin Feng.
This time, it takes them close three minutes to reach the other end of the abandoned factory. The one that shows interest in the Tactical Warhead was half a minute slower as he missed the water fountain when climbing out of the factory's window.
"No more test. Our target is across the road. Can you see the building with the tarpaulin there? That's our destination." Zhang Qin Feng said as he points the laser baton in his hand at the building.
"I've studied the building previously. There's a total of three levels, six rooms on each floor. They're divided into three sections. Divide yourself into three teams. Each team will take one with their partner."
"I'll leave you to your own jurisdiction, but believe me, everyone inside this building is a terrorist or their agents. Let's bring at least two people back each time to extract information before we let Tianhe Special Squadron settle the rest."
"Are you ready?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. He smiled as he asked if they're ready to charge inside the terrorist outpost with a mere pistol, two spare magazines, a bulletproof vest, and three buttons in their pocket.
"Huh… Let's do it!" everyone seems to be quite determined as they pulled the balaclava down until it covers their neck.
"Oh, by the way… Don't worry about their surveillance. I will handle the surveillance record, so you can get wild without repercussion. Just make sure you don't go out of control."
"Five minutes. Move." Zhang Qin Feng said. Looking at the guy that arrives last, Zhang Qin Feng shows him the finger of 'three' as he shook his head towards the building's direction.
"What? We're taking the third floor?" he looked at the building almost twelve meters tall. Are they going to climb the stairs or outside until the top floor?
A hint of regret appeared inside him for choosing Zhang Qin Feng as his partner. If he was to choose again, he would choose the team with the captain for sure.
"Hey, what's your name?" Zhang Qin Feng asked him as they take a detour to the back of the building.
"Just call me lightbulb," he answered. In the armed forces, they rarely addressed each other using their real name.
"Alright. Lightbulb, I'm going to toss you up to that broken stairs there. Then, you'll catch me when I'm jumping, alright?" Zhang Qin Feng's suggestion made the lightbulb looked at the wall.
"Second floor? Sh*t! That's like six meters tall!"
