"Number 1 to 8, follow me. As for the others, stay here and protect the Boss." Zhang Tianci led half of the soldiers away and headed towards the incoming vehicle. This distance would take the car about twenty minutes to arrive at this small size settlement.
And as they approached the vehicle, the virus carriers that gave them a chase could be clearly seen. Except for a few Tyrants, about a thousand zombies are coming at them.
But that's not the end of their problem.
As Zhang Tianci stepped out of the settlement with his men, he noticed multiple packs of zombies with a few Tyrants within. While their position is neither too near nor far from this settlement, all it took was a tiny spark to get these carriers to go crazy.
And from what Zhang Tianci believes, this noisy vehicle is precisely the spark the virus carriers were waiting for. And with the Luna Device no longer workable, he would have to come up with a solution before it was too late for them.
Even with his level of skills, Zhang Tianci dare not to be overconfident in the fight against the virus carriers. He might survive, but he would definitely lose this battle.
"Number one and two, take the left flank, and the others will protect our right side in case we catch their attention. Immediately take them out if they're making a move. I will go to the vehicle and stop them before they end up bringing more virus carriers to our location." said Zhang Tianci.
With the machinegun strapped over to his back, he positioned himself nicely before making a sprint towards the vehicle. The speed of his sprint does not lose even to a world record sprinter.
Furthermore, unlike them, Zhang Tianci was moving with a few guns and ammunition on him. The entire package of his loads on him is estimated to be between 50 to 75kilograms.
In the meantime, the passengers in the vehicle don't seem to be doing much better.
One out of the four passengers seated on the back seems to rely on a constant Decrystalization Serum application to keep the Seed Crystal Virus from spreading.
He was taken care of by another fellow passenger in the backseat. And based on the uniform the two were wearing, it was evident that both were captain-class crewmember of Wind Base Group.
The driver seems to be a deck operator, and the fourth passenger appears to be part of the vanguard team. From their facial expression, they seemed to be escaping from something more horrible than the zombies and Tyrants.
For two captain-class personnel to leave the ship and come ashore means the situation has escalated to the point where they have to abandon the vessel. But that doesn't seem to be the case either.
A new virus or pathogen outbreak seems unlikely, as they don't seem to be involved in a bloody battle. Furthermore, the interference doesn't seem to be doing anything to the vehicle they're driving currently.

Zhang Tianci opened a warning shot at the car coming towards him. But his intention for firing wasn't to threaten them but as a warning. As he had no wooden pole to support the flag in his hand, Zhang Tianci simply waved the red flag for their attention.
"Survivors, Captain! Shall we drive there?" the driver asked. His reaction seems to be quite overwhelmed by how his brain process the information.
"Yes. Get there." said the captain. To him, the most vital thing right now is to make sure his colleague manages to survive through this viral infection as his body starts to create the antibody. Or else, he would be dead anyway when the virus takes over his brain function.
"Number one and two. Raise your red flags and guide them towards the settlement. Number three to eight, your current task is canceled and replaced by reducing the number of zombies by creating as little sound as possible."
Slowly pull back as we get rid of the zombies on our way." Zhang Tianci ordered. The machinegun in his hand is akin to a sniper rifle. He could still am accurately at the incoming zombies without the need for a scope.
One bullet after another, the number of zombies were quickly reduced as the car drove past their defenses and followed number one and two into the settlement. By the time they arrived at the gathering point and parked, Zhang Qin Feng and the others had already come down with a few precaution measures.
"Stay there and report yourself. After that, explain what happened while we're giving treatment." said one and two. A medical and research crew soon approached the injured captain with a syringe holding a more concentrated variant of Decrystalization Serum.
Gunshots were heard not too far from their gathering point. And from the look of it, the battle outside wasn't as simple as Zhang Qin Feng thought either.
"Boss." the captain that still capable of reasoning, stands and performs a salute to Zhang Qin Feng before starting with the report.
"We're the captain for 007 and 009, Boss. Four days ago, the Vanguard Team accidentally triggered a trap when they found the hidden facility. At first, nothing much happened. But we're regretting our choice soon after we into the golden dome's perimeter."
"All our electronic devices were offline, and we're left on our own. The people from five fleets soon gathered together to create a safe base while searching for the crux of this problem, but we found another problem after this, Boss." said the captain.
"And what the problem is?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. He had a feeling that it was not as simple as just a trap.
"The survivors here… They can control the zombies. Not just the mere zombie, but elites. Have you seen zombies capable of fighting like a super-soldier, Boss?" the captain answered.
"Zombies that's capable of fighting like a super-soldier?" the captain's words made Zhang Qin Feng feel puzzled.
"Yes. Like a super agile Tyrant. So powerful that the Vanguard team can't even kill them without blowing the entire building away to take out one of them.
"Not good." One and Two suddenly remembered something.
