Chapter 270: Lamia (2)

'The reason the new Tyrant-Type resembles Satella, and also why the Turbine Town had a drastic change… Did that actually came from my involvement?' Zhang Qin Feng couldn't help but suspect that he was the culprit behind everything.

Although he doesn't have the proof of what was going on here, based on the slightest possibility, he could easily deduce that what happened that day is what escalated this change.

Everything that was happening right here is possibly caused by him.

But once again, he's not entirely sure about what actually happened after he and Satella left this place together.

"Please continue. I'd like to know about this monster you called Lamia." Zhang Qin Feng said. He took a bottle of beverage out for the survivor and sat down to listen.

With a bottle of beverage in hand, the survivor started to explain what happened during this time. These groups of people were initially from a smaller base at the other end of the Turbine Town.

Like the previous Wind Base, they often scavenge for goods around the area, looting everything that could work. Furthermore, the leader was quite a wise individual. He could entrust the people to interact and establish a good base.

But no matter how good is a leader, their last day would eventually come. His time as the base leader was short because he didn't rely on the serum to extend his resistance against the Blood Petrification disease.

About two years after the base was established, he eventually succumbed to the disease and breath his last.

Although the base managed to self-sustain for another two years, more trouble started to appear more frequently. Added with the problem of survivors fighting to lead the people as the Base Leader, this hastened the base's final day.

The survivors who didn't have to go through all the difficulties to keep the base running failed to notice what it takes to become a Base Leader. In a way, their reason to fight for the position was purely due to their greed for power.

This eventually brought the base down as more facilities started to be abandoned because nobody was servicing them. The problem with supplies was the first to appear, followed by the manpower as they expanded their control over the surroundings.

A base where people were helping one another to keep everything in order ended up as a stage where one was fighting for power and influence. The existence of the zombies doesn't seem to bother them.

Until it was too late.

Amongst the two most prominent factions in the base, one started to get a taste of their own ignorance when an outbreak happened in their operation base. It was a ticket straight to their death when the infection went from one to many and took almost everyone out within a short period.

And to make the situation worst, the fallen side was the one that controlled most of the facilities to keep the base in operation.

Their losses mean that even if the remaining people wished to turn this situation around, they wouldn't manage to do it independently. Then, everything escalated quickly when the one they called "Lamia" made its appearance.

Lamia seems to have a mutated virus in its body that could initiate a different infection process. The result from the mutation resulted in creating Tyrant-Type zombies with incredible durability and cost lesser to produce.

Although the elimination process is stricter than how zombies evolved into Tyrant, what the Turbine Town has is a repopulation shelter, which produces perfect specimens at all times.

It was expected that the town currently has no lesser than five hundred Tyrant-Type zombies going around. Their numbers are expected to increase every day.

"From what you're saying, the monster Lamia likely have found the entry into the Repopulation Shelter?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. If that wasn't the case, it would be difficult to explain why clones are no longer released from the shelter.

"That's likely what happened. The monster we called Lamia only came to our base once to destroy and infect the candidates. After that, it was missing and never seen by anyone else until today." the survivor answered Zhang Qin Feng's question.

"Satella, what do you think?" Zhang Qin Feng asked his woman for her opinion.

Her arrival at Zhang Qin Feng's side almost scared the survivors to death. If appearance could kill, she would have all of them killed by standing before them without doing anything.

"Tyrant-Type! It's the Lamia's Tyrant-Type! Why would she be here? Are you the one that created and controlled the Lamia from behind the scene?" they're trembling before Satella.

The situation right now was almost hilarious as the survivors were trying to grab whatever possible, even taking one of their shoes off to use as a weapon against Satella. But even if it looks funny, their reaction explains how terrified the survivors are regarding Satella.

"I guess the Lamia they're talking about really resembles me, huh?" Satella chuckled. But at the same time, she felt slightly offended by their reaction.

But she can't blame them. After all, the zombies that had her appearance were the true culprit behind her defamation. If there's something she can use to make them keep the misunderstanding aside, perhaps only her voluptuous chest could bring the justice back to her.

"She speaks!" the survivors trembling went more extreme. Some even peed after hearing Satella speaks, and the more weak-hearted one fainted from the terror.

"This is my woman. From what we're suspecting, Lamia should have contacted us before it turned into something today. Are you willing to give us a hand in eliminating this threat?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.

"What do we get in return? Forget it if you're thinking about using us as the bait to bring the Lamia to you." the survivor said. Everyone else nodded in agreement like his words represent everyone present here.

"You won't need to join the battle. As the local of this place, I'm sure you know where is the repopulation shelter is located. I want you to bring us there. In return, I'll consider allowing you people to live at our outpost that we're busy fitting them and getting them operable." said Zhang Qin Feng.
