Chapter 183: Hidden Threat (2)
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Satella fired three shots behind Zhang Qin Feng's head. But her target was not the head of her loved one but the threatening shadow hiding behind. It seems that the three bullets barely grazed the thing trying to sneak an attack from behind.
Luckily, the three shots still managed to get it disorganized.
Noticing its sneak attack was a failure, the thing quickly slithered away. Still, it already got the trace registered by Stein. The system might fail to get a hold of this individual during its initial attack, but that won't happen again after having its signature registered by the Luna II.
[This sneaking individual releases a different frequency from the zombies. It should be a cold-blooded reptile that underwent a mutation to obtain this kind of stealth ability]
The system immediately keeps track of its movement. It seems the thing was quite agile and sneaky and capable of blending itself with the darkness to achieve complete stealth.
Unfortunately, after getting three shots from Satella, the wounded part now no longer capable of stealth. Zhang Qin Feng's system also made sure that this target wouldn't run away.
"Satella, I'll chase that thing. Concentrate your attack on that Tyrant until it fell," Zhang Qin Feng said. He immediately went down through the stairs after leaving two mags of ammunition for the Lunacy beside Satella.
'You're not getting away, damn monster." Zhang Qin Feng gritted his teeth while he descends the floor two steps at a time. With Stein keeping track of the monster, it will be found even if it hides underground.
A part of him was agitated because Zhang Qin Feng almost fell to this monster as its prey. Knowing that it was a kind of reptile made him angrier because Zhang Qin Feng knew that this would soon become trouble for him and his new base.
"Keep attacking that monster! We can't let her move forward!" Alex and Queenie shouted. Two of their subordinates have started to prep the Decimator Rocket Launcher to be fired.
"Leader, we're ready!"
"Fire! Target that Tyrant!" the two leaders shouted.
*Whoosh! Whoosh!*
The explosion from the barrage of Decimator warheads quickly took parts of its limbs and flesh from the body. Added with the flames that kept burning on the body, the Tyrant seems to be struggling as it tries to make a retreat.
The howl from the monster also changed into wailing as it retreats. But that only made the soldiers getting more excited as they left their hiding spot and gave chase.
"Stupid! I haven't given the order to chase!" Alex scolded the soldiers.
Out of the few, one unlucky soldier got himself grabbed by a nearby zombie and immediately fell victim to its relentless attack. To make sure he doesn't end up like the zombie later, his colleague gave him and the zombie a shot on the head to send both of them on their way.
"Bang!" Satella immediately followed up with another shot on the Tyrant's head. It struck the monster's head accurately, but it just doesn't seem to penetrate through its skin as thick as an animal hide.
Perhaps this was the aftermath of feeding the monster to a buffet meal.
The fighting continued. The shooting also started to catch the attention of the others to come and watch the show.
"Hey! What are you guys doing here? Get the hell back to the safe zone!" Tane shouted at a few survivors that put their head out for a peek. It seems that the lack of a leader let them slack in terms of awareness.
If a zombie is near them right now, all it takes is a bite or a scratch on their arm or neck to turn them into a zombie immediately. And from there, it will keep expanding until everyone on top of the balcony turned into zombies.
They were counted lucky for now because the gunshots from thirty over soldiers were grabbing all the zombie's attention. Their number is now reduced to a mere 500, but that number is still a considerable threat to the soldiers.
As for the Tyrant, even Satella finds it weird that it was still active and kicking after emptying an entire mag of bullets customized for the sniper rifle. She wondered what it would become if they were actually fighting against this monster without this weapon and right on an open area.

Stein's instruction made Zhang Qin Feng pointed his crosshair in his 9 o'clock direction. Taking advantage of the automatic firing function on his Centurion Custom, Zhang Qin Feng kept the barrage ongoing. Although only a few of the bullets he fired hit the target, each shot that hits would reveal a part of the monster.
By now, the outlook of the monster was roughly visible to Zhang Qin Feng. The layer of skin behind that reflection was scaly and mirror-like. This monster comes with a tail and a pretty damn big eye.
It was a stealth chameleon. One about the size of an adult human on top of that.
Based on how familiar this monster is over the terrain, it must have been living around here for quite some time. Zhang Qin Feng could only say that he was lucky to encounter this monster before it was too late.
[The system detected zombie's activity nearby. Three presences were caught by the sonar so far. Advising the user to practice caution while pursuing this creature]
'What? Are there zombies around here? This far from the area where everyone was gathered? Something fishy must be going on…"
"Inject the Physique Serum and Fitness Serum into my body. I will get rid of it ASAP before going back to the battlefield." Zhang Qin Feng ordered.
Without further ado, the system followed his instruction and injected the serum into his blood vessel. In a blink of an eye, Zhang Qin Feng's movement was faster by twofold. In a blink of an eye, he managed to move past the chameleon and pointed the Centurion Rifle right on its head.
"BAM!" in such a close range, all it took was a bullet to blast through the monster's brain.
