Chapter 182: Hidden Threat (1)

"Woo…" with the fence is now down, the zombies were coming out in bulk like a supermarket is on an annual sale. Although their numbers were limited, having the zombies pouring out was still an unforgettable scene.

The fighting started while Tane is still considering the choice he should be making.

Since Zhang Qin Feng has made sure to tell Tane why he was here, it was all up to this person to decide what to do next. Although he's not the leader of this group, he was the one with the most guns.

After telling Tane his intention, it will be all up to him to decide. Were Tane chose to protect this place from outsiders, Zhang Qin Feng will be retaliating by force to occupy this place. But if they were to submit to Zhang Qin Feng peacefully, then there's something for them to talk about after this battle.

As for the terms, it will be up to how Tane and Shaun behave.

"Fire at the zombies first! We'll let Vice-Boss handle the bigger one." Alex ordered. He pulled half of his team with him and made their way to a more advantageous position to continue to fire freely at the zombies.

Unable to face the barrage of bullets from thirty-plus soldiers, the zombies had a tough time marching past the fenced area. Although a few managed to get through the hailstorm of bullets, they eventually get shot in the head by Zhang Qin Feng's Centurion Custom.

"We'll help too!" Tane finally decides what he was going to do.

His order made the other four guys provide some cover fire to Zhang Qin Feng's group. Because all of them were from the Soldier Cloning Program, basic knowledge such as teamwork, formation, and tactics were ingrained inside their head.

This turned out to be a convenience to Zhang Qin Feng because he won't be needing to retrain them again to get these people into a part of his army.

But still, he finds it difficult to trust the locals right now.

As he was assuming the position of the leader, he must have been under the radar right now by the one that turned four leaders into zombies.

"Feng, what is in your mind?" Satella asked. The number of zombies was dwindling to 700 or so, but the Tyrant still takes cover behind a sturdy wall. Satella also seems to notice Zhang Qin Feng's hesitation for not ordering a quick sweep over the zombies. His action was as if he was waiting for something.

"WOAH!" the Tyrant finally unable to keep itself from taking action. The monster charged out from its hiding place after breaking the wall apart. A piece of the wall ended up as a flying projectile as the Tyrant grabbed it with both hands.

The projectile flew over like a flying scythe aiming for the survivor's head. Although it missed the target, the people were still getting disorientated by the incoming shot that could take their life in a flash.

"Distance yourself from one another! The Tyrant zombie is very smart. It knew how to search for a populated location to attack!" Tane yelled as a warning to Zhang Qin Feng's men.

Unknown if it was a lucky shot or not, what he said actually happened. The next throw from the Tyrant came straight to a group of six soldiers gathered behind a wall. Although it still misses Zhang Qin Feng's people, two out of the six soldiers were injured when part of the house crumbled.

And perhaps due to having buffet daily in her diet, the Tyrant's durability is much better than what they faced on their way here. Satella fired her second shot through the Lunacy Anti-Materiel Rifle, but it was less effective. Although the monster was thrown off from her feet, the head was still intact and reacting strongly.

"Feng, something is very wrong here… Don't you think?" Satella asked. This was the first time she sees a Tyrant capable of withstanding two shots from her Sniper Rifle and still active. If it was other zombies, they'd be lying down on the ground right now as a headless corpses.

"Yes. The Tyrant's durability was too outstanding. It felt like there's something more than that over there. But I can't see what's the difference. Keeping paying attention to the zombies, and we'll eventually see what was actually there." Zhang Qin Feng said.

Stein suddenly reported something weird.

Zhang Qin Feng looks at the Luna II device on his wrist and makes sure he keeps an eye on the battlefield but finds nothing out of the ordinary. It was still piled with dead corpses, moving zombies, and that durable Tyrant.

Even he felt a hint of uneasiness in this battle. Zhang Qin Feng felt like something was moving around them and monitoring each and every action of theirs.

Soon, something happened amongst Zhang Qin Feng's soldiers. It seems that the hidden threat is no longer able to contain itself longer and decided to sneakily attack one of Zhang Qin Feng's men.

"I - I feel weird…" that soldier of Zhang Qin Feng walked out of his hiding place and scratched his face and neck out of panic. There was a two fang-like hole on his neck as his blood vessels started to pop outward like the zombie's appearance.

"Alex! Inject that fellow with a bottle of Decrystalization Serum!" Zhang Qin Feng ordered.

"Yes, Sir!" Alex reached out to the unlucky soldier in less than five seconds and stabbed his visible blood vessels with a syringe in his hand. He had no choice but to step on that fellow before he runs amok after turning into a zombie.

"Pay attention to your surrounding! Your target might be something small and can bite!" Zhang Qin Feng ordered. The feeling of uneasiness is getting stronger as Zhang Qin Feng takes a look around him.

"Xii…" he quickly felt that he was the next target after this unlucky soldier. To make it worst, he heard a hissing sound from a snake is coming from his back.

"Feng! Get down!" Satella suddenly changed her weapon to the Phalanx and aimed at Zhang Qin Feng's head.
